Here in east London we had same problem to my some plants sadly ice probably killed or ice damage them, it is so upsetting to see it. I both 2 Jasmin white flowers so much nice smell and it was expensive plants maybe ice made it like dead hope it comes back, but it is nice to see their are people out here same problem as me and doesn’t feel I am alone thank you all the best good luck on your plants
👍🏼👍🏼 Got a few different palm varieties, like you said the Mexican fan palm seems to wilt first in winter, however even my canary date palm didn't like the minus chill before Christmas and I thought they were pretty hardy 🤔
My palms buds all rotten and pulled out on touch. Incredible smell. I kind of raked what was rotten and poured 3% oxygen peroxide. Lots of white bubbling. Hope they will survive. SE London.
Here in Shropshire we had 3 or 4 nights at minus 5, one at minus 6, one minus 8 and the worst was minus 9. This was the first year during the last four years I didn’t protect Musa Bajoo, so this has now turned to mush. Everything else is ok so far.
I’m in Sunderland about 2 miles from the coast. I think my lowest was about minus 4. The worst thing wasn’t the minimum lows but the fact that it didn’t get warmer than minus 2 on a couple of days

Canarys can take -6c , for short periods but will have damage around -3c . They normally pull through winter if it's not to wet 👍

Doesn't sound good , my brahea edulis dud the same. Let's hope they pull through 🤞

It's always when you let your guard down, good to hear that most pulled through 👍
I haven't been out the back yet suffering with flu but it doesn't look good from the bedroom window 🤧
Sorry to hear that 😔
Nice looking palms. What location roughly are you in the Uk? Similar winter temps we had here in North East England (coastal) with lows of -5°C?
I'm in Suffolk also coastal. I have some more unusual palms to in the ground this spring, stay tuned.

@@1984Adamr your right, it's the length of minus temperatures rather than a one off freeze 😔
How is the Parajubaea?
I will do an update on it next time 👍
Hope every thing recovers in spring.
Me too 👍
You were lucky only minus 3 and 4 ,I got down to minus 7 and 2 days it never got above freezing minus 1
I think a lot of us tropical gardners are going to suffer loses. On the bright side, opportunities to plant new stuff 👍
