I think the campus card service moved from Building 10 to the 1st Teaching Building (the grad school building); my friends and I had to get our cards from there in September. And Fudan is now asking scholarship students to get a Bank of China card from the BoC branch on campus (right next to the ABC branch). On a more important note, which canteen(s) did you like best here hahah? Did you leave before or after the north canteen 北食 opened after renovation?
Thanks for the updated info about the student ID card! For BoC do you know if they also accept X2 visas (ppl who are only staying in China for 1 semester)? I had friends who were scholarship students but had to make an account somewhere else because they were on an X2. A year ago, BoC accepted X1, but not X2. Hopefully they've changed this policy, as it will be more convenient for exchange students! I left before the north canteen was opened; it was still in construction when I was there, so sadly I don't know what it tastes like ): Sounds like they've finished renovations now (?), how's the food there? My favorite canteen is the one next to the 6th Teaching Building and the Fudan Kindergarten! They have a DIY "hot pot" station, korean specialities, noodles, and other goodies depending on what's on the menu that day! Try it out and lmk what you think! (:
@@KarynTan Yesssss! That's my favorite one as well. It's somehow cheaper than the others and yet way tastier! I just had the DIY hot pot last night for the first time. I find that 南苑 is kinda overrated hahah. Haven't really explored 南食 yet. The food at the north canteen is okay-ish (wee bit expensive haha), but as a place to study or hold discussions, it's really one of the best. I'm sorry, I'm not sure if BoC accepts X2 visa. But I wouldn't be surprised if they don't. They're, or at least was, kind of clueless about how foreigners can apply for a debit card (it took me 8 days, one dozen emails, and almost as many phone calls to finally get a debit card for my scholarship). Not really impressed with their service :/
@@amarsanaab omg the stress about creating a bank account is REAL. I had a tough time making a debit card too. I'm planning to make a video about this; is it okay if i quote your experience in the video? I think it would be very helpful! (: i think most people go to 南苑 tho, because its the largest and very convenient when you have a class nearby. For the price, it's not a bad deal, esp on the good days! However truthfully speaking, I only went there whenever I had class and I had to grab a meal; most of the times, I eat in the restaurants outside of campus or order take out!
