Great! This saved me from transferring data manually! Now i got all my responses on one sheet. Your tutorial is right to the point, and you show the steps again even if it was simple. Thanks!
What would be truly awesome is if one sheet contained responses from multiple forms on the same TAB, adding responses across the rows by the same student names.
Is there any way to automate the naming of the sheets generated by each form? For example, instead of it being "Form responses n" each time, can you just make it have the name of the form (like "workshop two feedback")?
Hi, I have a problem with converting forms into sheets, I have a form that has a lot of sections, because I run a delivery start-up, so I have provinces (cities) and then based on the answer it'll take them to a different sections (as many as provinces) that include the departments of the respective province, so my problem is that when i convert the form into spreadsheet, I have all the rows for departments that are empty except the ones that the client answered, how do I merge all of them into one row in sheets so that I have only two rows (province-departement) and not (province-departement-departement and so on), would appreciate any help! Thank you.
I would like to have multiple forms feed into one spreasheet and the same sheet, in your video there are one sheet for each form evendo in one spreadsheet. I would like multiples forms feed in one spreadsheet AND one sheet, Is it possible?
Thank you! Very helpful! Please explain how to differentiate which form is doing the submitting, when an OnSubmit trigger is set. I have an OnSubmit trigger to send an email when the sheet receives data from google form 1. (Thanks to one of your other tutorials!) I would like to have a different function run when there is a submission from google form 2. Currently, form 1 and form 2 trigger the same OnSubmit function. How would I test in my function to find out whether form 1 or form 2 is the submission that triggers OnSubmit? (I realize I could do this with separate sheets. But I would like to do it all in one sheet, and also save the time from opening two separate sheets instead of one when the functions are run. Eventually, I could have 8-10 forms; and, I only want one sheet file because the data is related.) Thank you!
+Martin Granbom once it's has been put together you can use the importrange formulas to locate, use and import data. Maybe I can do a video on that later as it's a bit more advanced. There is a basic breakdown here that will hopefully help you: support.google.com/docs/answer/3093340?hl=en
Not sure if you're still responding to comments but I'm going to give it a shot. This is an excellent video but my question is a little complicated. I get the making different forms feed into one sheet so say I'm taking reading running records. @@latifapopal523 I haven’t because I think I broke my brain just trying to think through the scenario. I’d still love for it to work - some how. Sorry I couldn’t offer any suggestions.
@@latifapopal523 Let me understand better to see if I can help you. You like to create different forms to different students because it's not you who submit the answers, the students do it, right? So, adding a combobox to select the student name is not an option, because some students can fake answers of other students? If adding the combobox question with the students name is possible, I suggest you do it. So you need only one form and you just have to select the student name from the combobox, and all your answers will be in the same spreadsheet, same tab, but also with the student information. You can add a filter in the spreadsheet to easily check only the answers of a specific student.
So many videos on this topic but they all create the Form first. What if you have a detailed spreadsheet already, and just want a form to sit over the existing columns? It may not be possible, but having to design from the Form is a PITA. If I link to the sheet from a Form, it generates its own tab so doesnt drop the data in the one I already have - grrr. Can you make video on how to add auto numbering to orders once any order is taken via google form. I have tried multiple Vlook up formulas however when form is filled the existing order numbers are deleted automatically from the linked sheet. Basically I want to generate order number for every order.
NO, the general concept is that a single form will feed all its data to a single sheet. there is no point to having a single form creating hundreds of tabs (1 for each respondent).
Thanks for very interesting video. it's very helpful. I have one question, Please help me in that. That how can we chose more than one or two points in Multiple choices or Linear scale. I'll be very thankful for your kind response

I am thinking maybe I could use importrange but i don't know if that could be done because these feedback is in the same worksheet. How could accomplish that?
For as far as I'm aware you would have to use the Importrange formula and reference the other spreadsheet in order to create a spreadsheet where you compare different values.
I am fresh out of Excel - but there, it was easy to record a macro that would cut it from one place and drop it into another. In the project I am working on I am apparently going to be doing exactly that. One cool thing you can easily add to that is to already have sorted the receiving sheet so the top of the sheet is the freshest answer, then INSERT ROW just below the title row to drop the new data into. That way you don't have to figure out how to programaticly find the bottom row. Then you can copy one of your other rows & paste over the new row, dropping "Formatting Only." HTH
