    Hey...Nice Video...There's an update from Google Sites though on the Image Carousel. You can just open your site, go to the Insert Tab on the right side of your page, and then scroll down a bit so that you can see an option called Image Carousel. Click that, and you will see an option to upload your photos (you can even upload photos using a URL, your Google Drive and you can even search for an image online!). There's also a feature to Auto-Start the Slideshow by clicking the settings button, on the top right.
    Have fun EXPLORING GOOGLE SITES! BIG THANKS TO FLIPPED CLASSROOM TUTORIALS!

    Hi. Thanks for the video. May I ask why WebP and APNG files are NOT supported in google sites even though they are supported in browsers? They support transparency and are much smaller and better quality than GIF? Is there any way at all to get a WebP or APNG file to actually work on a google site or is it a case of simply using another webbuilder and not google? I have a google site and I am learning from various videos and cannot find any workable solution.

    Hi. Thanks for the video! It's very useful.
    I'd like to know if every time a custom element is going to be used across different sections of the same page, lets say, an image carousel, is it mandatory to embed the full !DOCTYPE individually with its own and tags to make it work? Or can a single block be embedded as an independent section to call all the custom links/styles/scripts that are going to be used across a webpage?

    Awesome tutorial - thank you for putting it together. When testing out the carousel on my google site, the images ended up having too much height and not fitting into the resizing that I'd like the size to be. Is this due to the original resolution and size of the downloaded image, or, the css that's being brought in by bootstrap? Would the solution be to resize any images to what I'd like them to be prior to linking them in the code? TY!

Plus you started by showing the finished work (what are we going to build) which means you really know how to teach this type of topic :-)

    • @FlippedClassroomTutorials
      @FlippedClassroomTutorials  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Cori Ortega first of all, thank you so much for taking the time and leaving a comment! To answer your question, in principle it sgould be possible to make the code dynamic by referencing an external source in the html code. I have personally never done this as using tools such as sheetu and awsometables have always allowed me to embed sheets data in a visually appealing way. I might look into thia over the summer as it sounds like a fun little project to play around with.

    Dear Sethi.. I love your work and I usually have no problem applying those things to my work - but in this case i'm just not able get bootstrap-codes working on my google sites. when i try to embed code and click continue it just jumps back to the page without anything happening. this even happens with the most basic bootstrap-codes directly from the w3schools-page. do you have any idea what the problem could be? Has google done anything yet to prevent using bootstrap? on the other hand, your sample page still seems to be working just fine! i dont understand...

    thank you so much for your informative tutorial. I'm using it to build a few google sites. however, I noticed that when I tested my sites loading times using the google page speed insights tool, and the pingdom tool, they said that my Google site speed was very poorly optimized. the load time was 2.4 seconds (trying to get it down to under 1 second). do you have any advice on improving the load speed of google sites??

    • @FlippedClassroomTutorials
      @FlippedClassroomTutorials  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The biggest reason for slow loading times in Google sites seem to be the images and embedded code. Make sure the embedded code is divided across pages and doesn't contain any code that is not needed. Also you images may be loading slowly as they are larger than you may realise. Using jpeg is good practice and see if you can get away with higher compression. Hope this helps

    Hi. Was just wanting to know particularly why you used collapsable from bootstrap when this feature is already available in google sites already. Any specific reason for that ?

      It does sometime break on mobile using some embed features
      Slideshows are now natively supported on sites and those will work anywhere.

    Thank you very much for this tutorial! Your explanation was well-articulated and planned, and very easy to follow. I have made an accordion plus even learned how to tweak it so it is more than 3 panels! One question though, is it possible to make the automatic slideshow slide faster than 5 secs (which is what I believe it is set to)? Thanks so much!
