    Awesome pattern. I find that when you are tying off the rabbit strip at the front the fur does not need to be separated. In my opinion I think the slight tapered effect that is created looks quite nice. But like with all fly tying, it comes down to experimentation and personal preference.

    One of my all time favorite streamers, I tie mine mostly in with light olive rabbit strips, the state here were I live, stocks a lot of salmon smolts (atlantic) in the streams here, the fall browns go on a major feeding jag on them, I catch some of the biggest fish of the year on it, My best one was a 22 inch hook jawed male on a stream that is considered fairly small, sink tip 4' leader, dose the trick! its one of the reasons why I like October trout fishing! I tie mine on 3x long streamer hooks, in sizes 6 and 8 mostly, they just work and are quick to tie too, I don't weight mine to often, since the water conditions are low clear and cool. I am counting the days, just about 10 more weeks!

    Do you feel Dai Riki hooks and Lighting Strike hooks etc. are of the same quality as say Tiemco or Daiichi etc.?

    Great video, very helpful. Was wondering were you got the bug bond? I can't seem to find a dealer in the U.S.? Thanks

    • @tightlinevideo
      @tightlinevideo  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wapsi now distributes Bug Bond in the US so any fly shop that carries Wapsi products should be able to get it for you (Wapsi doesn't sell directly to the public).

    Is there any less expensive alternative to Clear Cure Goo?

      @tightlinevideo  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bug Bond and Loon are alternatives to CCG but I don't think any are less expensive.

    Did some guy named Zonker come up with this amazing pattern.

    • @jacobstarr9010
      @jacobstarr9010 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. It's named after the literal tail material (rabbit zonker strip).

    What do you think about the Bug Bond? Does it cures tack free?

    • @tightlinevideo
      @tightlinevideo  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it does dry tack free, but you do have to give it a really good shot with the UV torch. I like it.
