Let this sink in. AJ and Fury were considered the best HWs of this generation and Usyks just come up, from cruiserweight and cleaned them both out.😨
Usyk won a close decision, Tyson arguably won half the rounds and he's 37. It was a great fight.
Lol

After fight , Usyk said in ukrainian "Father , we did it ! We did it" . His father died by heart attack when Usyk was win gold medal on Olympic Games 2012.
Not true that he died when Usyk won... His father called him after Usyk won the Olympic medal, and said he loves him. Usyk still tears up recalling this, as it was one of the only times when his Dad said that. This means Usyk father was alive to see his son win the Olympic medal. Get it right

Brilliant fight!!! Can't wait for the rematch! Usyk P4P No.1 without question.
💯. Love that fight can't wait for the rematch
Luke’s watch alongs for boxing are amazing 🥊
I'm not the most studied boxing fan (much more of an MMA hardcore), but I think there's a good case for Usyk to be the best HW since the Ali era. As Luke said, Usyk has effectively proven he's better than the trinity of Fury, Wilder, and Joshua. I don't think anyone's arguing that the Klitschkos are ahead of him. That pretty much leaves Lennox Lewis, Evander Holyfield, and Mike Tyson.
Usyk having Olympic Gold (Tyson and Holyfield do not), being the unified Cruiserweight champ in the four-belt era (Holyfield was also unified cruiserweight champ but in the three-belt era) and presently being undefeated (Lewis avenged his two losses but lost nevertheless) combine to make a strong case for him over the others. Definitely a generational great and very special fighter. We witnessed history last night.

@@Chrissmithers2but you can’t let a fighter take shots when they’re not standing up but being held up by the ropes. You could argue for a stoppage rather than a standing count. But I think the ref made the right call considering the significance of the fight

Man, these livestreams are awesome because you get to see how much of a fan of fighting Luke is.
Hey Luke, can l get your opinion on the knockdown in Rd 9? It looked completely legitimate to me, that Fury being doubled over and stumbling into the ropes off balance would facilitate a knockdown and that the ref made the right call. But l'm seeing most people say the ref saved Fury for no reason out of corruption.
Those people are idiots. You’re right, the ropes held him up, if they were a foot further back he’d have been on his ass. It was a good call.
It might be cos he looked so wobbly it almost looked accidental he didnt fall through them
@@bengough6955 Tyson was getting smashed and the ropes held him up, that’s a knockdown in boxing.
Yeah I’m not convinced there was any shady actions by the judge. He simply seen a fighter no longer stood up and slumped on the ropes and didn’t want to call a TKO or let Fury take another shot when he’s down but being held up. So he called the knockdown and started the count. I also don’t think it was a massive count either. Because the round ended during the count. So there would not have been a resuming of action anyway
fury won rounds 4,5,6 and whatever other round you want to give him?...7th was super close... 8-4 usyk and the scoring was abysmal, i hate refs in all sports but judges in boxing are likely the worst of all sports
Good comment on the final boss battle. If a non fan saw these two guys going at it knowing it was a tournament but not knowing what round we were in most would probably know that was the final round.
Love when you do boxing content. Great viewing
Finally a scorecard that matches reality, close fight. The fans won today
Ref saved Fury from getting polished off in the 9th.
Aye, that would have been waived off in almost any other fight.
It’s the first heavyweight undisputed unification fight in 25 years-You can’t waive off the fight because Fury lost his legs. The ref did the right thing.
@@eduardom.8766lost his legs?????? Lost his brain bruh - took 15 headshots with absolute no attempt to defend himself - have a day off
@@eduardom.8766Not talking about waving it off. Talking about calling a non Knockdown a knockdown and letting fury regain his head and get saved by the bell.
@@eduardom.8766 Zero defense coming back from Fury, arms at his waist as he stumbled around, getting hit multiple times to the head, his legs were gone, he was out on his feet. You absolutely could waive the fight off at that point regardless of the gravity of the fight. Its about the safety of the fighter not the importance of the fight.
Gotta love that ref lmfao what a joke man robbed that man of a tko undisputed win dude was done any other fight or ref that shit would have been stopped dude was completely defenseless and ate like 14 shots 😂
what about the standing 8 count? that was a fucking joke. it‘s a pro boxing title fight!
Where was the issue to you? When the ropes hold you up they call that a knockdown
@@kevinsmoon3257didn't really hold him up tbf, watched it 10 times he's still up just braindead
@@ItsOnPapertranslation: the ref saved Fury from getting finished off in that sequence.
Yea the ref saved him plain and simple. Of course the British commentators didn’t mention it even one time 🤣
@@TobyLerone76 are you blind?? the ropes held him up several times and he couldnt even hold his arms up to defend the punches
Fury should’ve taken a knee when that shit turned awful in the ninth. I know that’s considered a bitch move, but it would’ve been smart since it could’ve been stopped, and was a 10-8 anyway. He has great recovery, take your eight count and gather yourself IMO.
This was a massive HW fight for all the marbles. I see the criticism, but I don’t blame the ref for letting it reach its natural conclusion, despite how bad Fury looked wobbling all over. Great fight, looking forward to the rematch.
take the knee?? He didn't know where he was his legs were completely gone, if he had enough mind clarity to think about taking the knee he would inevitably fall over as his legs were completely gone !
Yeah I think initially he was buzzed by that left from Usyk so Fury covered up and was focusing on clearing his head and not going down to the smaller man but then Usyk cracked him on the side of the head and behind the ear which ruined his equilibrium. Then the whole time Fury’s legs were going he probably wasn’t thinking at all but out of instinct of his nervous system his legs would just not give out fully. His balance did eventually go momentarily but the ropes kept him somewhat upright. I don’t think he was with it enough to take a knee which is evident by his arms being down by his sides. His equilibrium was effected and his brain was getting rattled big time. He’s got some chin on him that’s for sure. To be that hurt and take several unguarded shots to the head but still his lights stayed on and his legs wouldn’t quit is crazy. And that’s despite all the damage he did to it with drugs, alcohol and eating. And the prior shots from Wilder.
@@JackTenrec-qk4zp fall down, spit the mouthpiece out, do something b/c he was getting crushed and almost stopped. As I said, if he didn’t go down I’d have rarely still scored it a standing 10-8. Easy for me to say when I was watching and not getting my ass whooped.
You’re right in the sense he was going off instinct tho, and wasn’t thinking in that manner, just trying to survive the onslaught. Loved the fight, both are tremendous, and the fact that non weight cutting, CW Usyk can fuck with a massive guy like Fury speaks volumes to his abilities.
That knockdown was literally the determining factor. No 10-8, it would’ve been a draw (if my drunk math is right lol). Me personally, I would’ve scored the ninth a 10-8 anyway b/c Tyson got crushed so badly. That’s not something I’d often do, but judges in boxing don’t often score a 10-8 if there’s no knockdown.
Doesn’t the fact that Fury was able to finish the fight without getting stopped kind of prove that the Ref was right when he decided to not wave it off… If Fury had been all the way done, he would have been finished off in the next round…
Yeah I think the ref made the right call. If he’d waved it off then there’s every chance zombie Fury could have recovered (as he did) and he seen Fury go down but the ropes stopped him from hitting the deck so was not going to allow a fighter to be pummelled when they were down but being held somewhat upright. He was no longer being held up by his legs, the ropes were holding him up
So in that scenario he called a knockdown rather than let a downed slumped fighter take shots and rather than waving it off. Which considering the significance of the fight I think was the correct call
I appreciate Luke’s genuine excitement & commentary for these (topped off with the vape + Coke Zero hype combo)
Usyk is at the top but I believe for Fury Joshua would be worse. Fury has fought an extremely powerful puncher in wilder and an extremely technical fighter in Usyk. I truly believe Joshua has enough of both to be Fury’s kryptonite.
Fury’s kryptonite? You just watched fury get KO’d on his feet AND outboxed lol. Usyk is fury’s kryptonite 😂
@@toziassmitt plus Usyk beat AJ twice!! What’s this guy talking about??
He's saying that current AJ with the power advantage over Usyk and the technical advantage over Wilder would knock Fury out. Which may be true (styles fights etc) but remember if Fury brings it and is difficult (like he was in the first half of tonight especially) AJ might not react well, can't be sure
Correct. If he can frame and uppercut like Ngannou then Fury might be done in under 5.
😂
Was a Fury fan until he went full anti semite. F that guy. Great performance by Usyk. Legend.
Anti semite?
Now you know why Fury avoided dangerous fights. We'll credit him for Wlad and Wilder.
Funny how the only people who had Fury winning at the end were people who had him winning every round during the fight (except 9), had him winning before the fight, had him winning the whole time he was ducking, and will have him winning every time his name is mentioned.
Everyone else had Usyk winning at the end of the fight and can't understand how there was a 114 - 113 for Fury... Fury fans are just like Wilder fans, they're fans of the man they feel represents the mess they are and they don't really care about boxing.
You need to tell us which round it is,.
Feels good when a prediction hits the bullseye. You know you are in the presence of a great when you see the adjustments in the mid rounds. Who has the gas, chin and boxing brain to overcome this man?
He doesn't have one stop it at heavyweight and you're talking about how great of a chin somebody's going to need to have to beat usyk, he has one finish at heavyweight you absolute dork....
No one. Usyk is unbelievable. What a fighter
Anyone wanna point out Fury’s shorts? They were so high up his waist , making it harder for Usyk to land body shots. Not to mention it look goofy and made his calves look skinny af
Tyson fury was always clumsy and akward! Finally was punished by the technically perfect fighter usyk. Next fight he needs to empty the tank and try to stop usyk inside the first 6 rounds....
He's very technical for a guy as large as he is.
Also, every single sportsman has technical flaws. There's a reason Federer, Djokovic and Nadal hit the ball so differently and have advantages/disadvantages in different situations.
Usyk fought a great fight and probably deserved to win 6 to 7 rounds, and obviously either way win due to the 10-8 in one of those 6/7.
@@MrVibhas yeah for being a massive dude he moves really well. I wouldn’t call him clumsy at all considering that.
I think he could win by emptying the tank in earlier rounds. But I don’t think Usyk will be there to be hit. He’s not stationary enough. And he could counter Fury coming in and end it early. But yeah I’d say that’s Fury’s route to victory. High guard, chase him into a corner and unload big shots. Alternatively he could invest heavily to the body from the opening bell and try to finish Usyk with body shots. But again he could get countered.
Like AJ and pretty much most fighters their biggest fear is gassing out so I don’t think he’s going to go in with this strategy. I think he might do an AJ and try to outbox Usyk twice. And lose twice.
@@alextomlinson I agree bro. AJ was most effective to the body, and Fury did that as well, but neither did it enough. Usyk doesn’t like it. They need to get Mexican on his ass, not try to outbox or get technical with him. Wear him down, make him fight.
@@Locusto199 I think he’s just too good at finding angles so going Mexican will get you hurt. Fury also doesn’t want to be chasing the smaller man around tiring himself out swinging and missing and getting countered by the quicker man. He did employ the right strategy. Use his reach to create distance and punish Usyk when he lunges in. But Usyk just had an answer for it. Pressure. Volume. Movement. Fury was tiring and I think he was throwing pitter patter shots to conserve energy, gauge the distance and disrupt the guard of Usyk to land a right hand down the pipe. But Usyk just started swinging because there wasn’t anything significant coming back.
Usyk is similar to Fury in that he uses movement and volume to win. Either by decision or by overwhelming them to get the TKO. Usyk is just more technical, faster and has more endurance.
I don’t think Fury has enough power to win by emptying the tank early. AJ was a perfect candidate for that method. Quick, big power, technical. But he could not pin Usyk down long enough. He’s just too good with his movement.
That leaves only 2 routes to victory for Fury. Hurt him to the body. Or try again to outbox him but this time throw everything with enough power so he has to respect it and stay on the outside. However I can see Usyk having a few answers to those strategies which will quickly nullify them.
He will counter the body shots with his own powerful offence. Then Fury will be reluctant to throw as many. Which is what we seen this time around. He can use movement to make Fury miss and gas out. If Fury tries to outbox him on the outside again he can make Fury tire by applying pressure. Or he can throw volume and power and get Fury out of there. He’s phenomenal. I really do think Usyk has Fury’s number
this is badass
Let’s give usyk all the praise for moving up in weight and slaying the titans 🎉🎉
Before you even said the name I knew you were going to say boxing gems. I've been watching fights with those guys for the last 2 or 3 years. They're super experienced in the fight game and also can be pretty critical about a fighter's weaknesses. On the other hand if a fighter is especially skilled and they like what he's doing they will point out the quality of his skill set and how he's going to match up with a different fighter. I think after a really dominant round the guy that won that round should get the benefit of the doubt in all really close rounds afterwards until his opponent clearly wins a round, almost like a college basketball possession arrow. Let's be real, Usyk only won because of the war in Ukraine and two corrupt judges. Usyk literally only had one decent moment in the fight when he caught Tyson but even then he wasn't even knocked down. Fury was hammering him with devastating body shots, snapping his head with precise jabs, and delivering bone crushing hooks to his chin. Tyson Fury is the real undisputed champion.
