How do these multi channel amps work if its used for both music and movies. When you want 2 channel stereo for music listening , do you just set speakers to large and all the power goes to the front L and R ?
The amp outputs whatever you feed it. If it has input on the mains then those are the channels that get sound. How you set the xovers and bass management is up to you and done in the processor/AVR. The amp will amplify whatever it's given.
So excited that Amir has moved into the reselling his custom OEM multi channel amplifier. Only he knows what people want and the value they want for dedicated home theater. Love that 7 channel amplifier. I want to see it with the top off. Amir should offer a 3 channel reference differential toroidal amplifier to compete with Emotiva balanced reference differential. When will Amir or Tonewinner come out with HDMI v2.1 update the Tonewinner AT-300 processor? Throw in DTS-X Pro and I would spend $2,499.99 with a web configuration interface. Keep the same parametric equalization and Amir should throw in a REW tutorial for $39.99 with you to compete with techno dad.
Very happy with mine. I keep waiting for something negative to happen but so far (almost 1 year) so good! Compares very well to my previous wyred4sound, rotel, arcam and bryston amps.
Thank you for reviewing Tonewinner and putting a little spotlight on them. I can't wait until the D4000 or 6000 reviews! It's making me reconsider these options over an SVS-PB3000 based on Barret from SOT measurements.
Hi, any updates on D6000's? Do you think they're capable enough to out do the likes of pb3000 and pb4000? Or are these just tall claims?? Thanks and nice review.
@@SheetMetalSolutionsIndia it'll be a few weeks before I have any feedback on them but as mentioned in the video, the d6000 has already been compression tested and outperformed the pb16 so it would best the pb4000 as well.
I use an AVM70 but in reality there's no such thing as an amp that matches best with this or that. That means you're using amps which color the sound which isn't ideal ..well at least for most. You'll adjust the sound of the room using the targets in your room correction.
Ah, ok. I guess I was wondering/hoping there was a processor in the same price range as the amp, since the AVM70 is $3400. It seems like there's no processors that aren't just receivers in the $1k - $2k price range. I'm guessing that if that's more my budget, then I may well just do something like the Anthem MRX 1140 for now.
Great video, thanks for sharing your thoughts on this amp. I appreciate that. You also have (had?) the 7300 7 channels. How does that one compare to the AD8300? In your opinion, is having two 7300s worth the money over one 8300? Btw, I hope Summithifi is also offering the SW-D8000. This is even bugger subwoofer. Is has dual 15" on either side of the cabinet and double the power of the D6000.
Thanks for review. I picked up the 7300 due to your recommendation and doing the job well. Thinking of picking up this one just for my front 3 what’s your thoughts on this option.
I love the 7300. It's such a nice looking and performing amp. If you already have one, man i'd maybe get another just for the LCR and run two. If you ever wanted to run wides you'd be set.
I'm probably picking up Tonewinner's 5 channel model; I don't need more than that, I can drive my front heights off my Marantz. $500 or some such - not as good as this one but the price is hard to beat for 100+ watts per 5 channels.
It's a great amp but Summit HiFi just sent me a new 11 channel which likely may be my pick over this one as it's a beast with dual power supplies. It's linked in the video description.
It's hard to hit that price point and compete with the more expensive options so the AT300 is in a tough spot. As for Aamir, 10000% agree. He's a great guy who's very passionate about what he does and has fantastic customer support.
There's a new amp coming this week. It's an 11 channel dual power supply 86 lb beast from summit hifi. It's their own brand but it's worth a look. I'll link it in the description.
very interesting. I've designed my new room around Grimani's webinars and your videos and my angles are close to your Dolby studio recommendations so looking forward to getting it up and running with my AVM-90 and several Linn chakra amps with active front LCR.
@@hometheatergurus and a great result with your friend comparing your room with Grimani’s at CEDIA. Makes me feel very hopeful about mine. I will be adding room treatments following Anthony’s recommendations. Looks like my room has an RT60 in the 0.3 to 0.4 range even before treatment
No way the Grimani room was better than the Ascendo room. Technology wise Grimani was more advanced because it was all digital. Sound and the demo performance was all Ascendo.
I love Tonewinner; but the "stereo" non single channel modules suffer from crosstalk. Play a test tone on rear surround and you will hear bleed on the speaker attached to same stereo module driving the non LCR modules. Happens with Emotiva, Monolith, Tonewinner any hybrid "stereo" multi module hybrid amplifier like the 9 x or 11 x channel single chassis amplifier. I just dont understand why we dont steer people OSD Nero 5 and 7 x channel single channel module multichannel amplifiers for the non LCR amplifier source. I get it we want 1 chassis. But that will suffer. I own 1 amazing LCR amp and 2 x OSD(s) that don't use stereo modules. The 2 x OSD Nero(s) are wired to their own circuit breaker amp.
@hometheatergurus try it out. Turn up back rear and whatever you connected to that stereo module. And listen for any faint noise on the speaker wired to the same module. Look at the THD specs for non single channel module.
I'll try it but then again when it's running a room thats hanging with the best at cedia, not sure I'd care if I did. The room is flat out standing. I do get it but I come from a diy background so the end result is what I care about most.
Why OSD specifically? Tonewinner has the AD7300 which uses single channel modules. Real world power remains to be seen u til someone measures them but I'm sure it's good for 150w+ clean ACD

Awesome video - Thanks so much! - Cheers, and Merry Christmas to you and tour family.

I have the 7300 version 2 and quite happy with it!
Yeah that's a beast of an amp and freaking beauty!
great video happy new year :)
Thanks, Happy New Year!
Awesome! I hope you review the Tonewinner AT-300 16 channel processor too, along with doing a setup guide on it as you’re the best person to do it.
I have Emotiva xpa 3 channel , is it worth chsnge to Tonewinner 8300?

Me too, it should arrive tomorrow!
Hi can you Bi wire the front L and R speakers when using the Tonewinner AD-8300 11 Channel Amp. Cheers
If you wanted 9.4.6 with this amp, what other amp would you get to finish off the system?
Yamaha a8a?
I have ToneWinner at-300 and ad-8300pa combo running 7.2.4 planning to add 2 ch amp and get into 9.2.4
Do ToneWinner amps have a trigger option? Thanks
