very reliable range unit that can counter cavalry and having the best single aim target shooting mechanism, mostly suggested in this season because many player nowaday with Yolo cavalry need to think twice before charging in.
They're Ashigaru Matchlock but got some pikes to counter the charge. Cost too much ammo, poor accuracy after the first wave of bullet. High dmg but suck penetration, the Ai sometime broken and shoot straight the wall where the enemy sitting or even up a high wall on some map. Pikes sometime won't work if you place them while staying on supply. If you got stuck with pikes' icon cooldown, they just don't count the number. The only way is re-login to fix the problems, or your own other units won't work. Attacking or formation and command will not work. They need a buff and reduce the cost of ammo. And fix some bug also.
the thing is... they are easily counter by archer unit as well since the Vassal got mastery and uh.. bow / short bow or maybe heavy armorer rush might kill em easiily tho.. but this unit has potential in Field battle since i use it really often for range + cav stopper, its really good but again its still countered by heavy armor rush.
Now that t4 units are unsealed, can you please check out prefecture heavy cav? Their mastery is op and I'm having a blast with them. I'm talking 80 - 100 t3 and t4 unit kills What's more is they now essentially 2 shot heroes when you hit them in the back. (Each model does 11 - 12k damage)
Companion cavalry and Ironcap Scout Cavalry can do the same. The dmg of Prefecture HC not that op if you don't give them a Doctrine that trigger double basic attack. Without the double, their dmg just about 7k to 9k. However, even with the frickin op dmg. They are really easy to be taken down with only militia pike, green polearms. The f3 formation of Spear Sergeant could handle them also. Many units can counter Prefecture Cavalry like: Wuwei, Camels, Reitar Pistoleers, Ironcap Scouts, Dagger Axe lancer,.. many units can counter these Supra.
hes got a vid on them already but yeah a new one would be cool, always like more of plums beautiful mug XD im having the same results, if you play smart and learn their janky pathing,. they are amazing, especially in open areas and sallying, one model broke through a shield line of the enemey and killed 3 heros and like 20 ranged units ONE MODEL
Do they stop infantry charges? Do they do any damage to Infantry? Can the damage be blocked? Are the spears affected by damage doctrines? Do the stats of the spears mimic the stats of the muskets? Can their hitbox be used to wall off areas? Can other heroes get stuck on them? Does the hitbox even affect other units? What about friendly units/heroes?

@@Zergling. Thank you! Very helpful! As for blocking, i meant like with shields. If the spikes affect infantry, does that include shield infantry? Also kriegbruders have shields and they are cavalry as well. I wonder if the durability of the spikes can be depleted using shields, so the unit themselves dont take all the damage. A bummer heroes can jump out of the spikes! I saw an opportunity to troll or trap other players lmao I am still curious about the damage stats... It would be odd to have spikes mimic musket stats, but i haven't been able to find a secondary set of stats for the spikes themselves. So I'm left to assume the spikes are applying musket piercing damage with a damage bonus to cavalry? How odd.

the challenges are always easier to do for the current season i believe so id do that unless your behind, basicaly do wtvr you want this season is worth sticking with tho imo
As if dressing units up wasnt enough. Now you even have to watch out for what kind of ranged unit you about to charge into. I hate that you have to spam ping every unit to be able to actually identify it due to them being unrecognizable from the clothes they wear. Now you have to do it for these guys as well...
I dont really see a issue in this. For example you can easily recognise pikes and muskets- Imp pikes and arque- Steel pike tip, golden gun, arranged in volley formation or just press tab and look which players has what...
They're jannisaries with imperial AI and camel utility. Colour me impressed.
