Im a bit disappointed that the anime doesn't reflect a fraction of that art style especially with amount of CGI it uses, nonetheless its a good anime, if Sunrise did the animations they would make every grunt and blade of grass in 2d art style like they do with gundam not to mention those spells and sh1t could use some good sound effects from that show considering their experience with dragon ball, sadly Kadokawa holds monopoly on most isekai anime so we will never see the day where Sunrise gets to do anything beyond shonen anime adaptations and gundam
back in the time, not many artist would draw some demons or fantasy things different from angels or they would get executed or hated by the community of fanatics
Why do i feel emotional hearing the song while looking at perfect illustrations of so-bin? We've come so far haven't we? And we thought our journey will be cut short. Looking forward for season V, stay alive out there people.
I've heard there might not be enough books left for a whole 'nother season, but we might get a movie, finishing off the saga. That being said, I've only heard so, so there's not much to go on there. I'd just be careful about hoping for something for which there might not even be a chance.
@@inertjohnjunk The 4th season covers volumes 10, 11, and 14 of the LN while the confirmed movie will cover the skipped volumes 12&13, and IIRC Maruyama plans to wrap things up at 18 volumes. So in theory there'd be enough content to cover a 5th potentially longer season. However only 16 volumes have been released so it's also entirely possible the anime producers instead of waiting for the LN to finish to make season 5 that they instead decide to cover 15&16 in a second movie and then 17&18 in a third movie once they release.

But not a single one stayed until the end, leaving him alone in the 'dawn' of Yggdrasil. "I don't need anything, if only they'd come back." This is what Ainz always thought to himself. He's gladly gave up everything if it's can make his friend come back to him. "Because the world that I love is no longer can be found." With Yggdrasil shutting down, so does his good times and memories. Because only in Yggdrasil he can feel alive and happiness. Yggdrasil is the world that he love, more that earth. "Stay by my side, if you are still alive.'" Again, this is what he wished in his heart. If his friend somehow come to the New World, then Ainz want them to know that Ainz Oaal Gown is also stuck there and for them to stay by his side again. He wished he can forget all of his friend, but every inch of Nazarick remind him of the good old days, the only good memories he had from earth. This beautiful Ending is really feels like what "Satoru's" part of Ainz thinking the whole time.
I agree with you, that deeply Ainz(Satoru) always has feeling of remembrance to his allies the whole time he had come to new world. I mean look at context of overlord anime or light novel although the comedy of npc’s reaction and how op the protagonist is, they sneaky add story that show you loneliness for being alone in a strange world. You need to do EVERYTHING to survive, he never underestimate his opponents like the others that had come before him, his thoughtful and cautiousness personality made him survive.
the song really put us into perspective of ainz. even thought he absolutely know that there is zero percent chance to meet his friend in the new world yet he try to spread the name.

that's so depressing... I had something in my past mmorpg journey that make me feel this more painful that what it may could be, but not just for the mmorpg itself... it's a whole lot of stuff that come up togheter and hits you like a truck in the most painful way possible. it reminds me a type of pain that neither love from this world can numb well enough, something that you won't ever be able to accept but are forced to if you are to live

This is one of the few animés whose ending I never fast forward. Song, ✅ artwork ✅ Heartfelt tune, outstanding artwork. This animé can be pretty brutal but it’s also elevating. I was deeply sorry it never came back.

Everyone knows how Ainz feels because all of you propably lost few friends that you loved to be with over the years Edit : I made a Clan with someone on steam back in the days but its kinda like Overlord . From 200 only a few come on . And Nonne plays the game we played at beginn we met. I wished my friends came back but i know it wont Happen :(

Light Novels are still not finished. Actually the anime caught up to the LN with this season as Volume 14 depicts (the latest released Volume as of writing this comment) the events starting in 8th episode of 4th season (Anime skipped volumes 12-13 "The Paladin of the Sacred Kingdom Part I&2" there will be movie about those events instead) and let me tell you.... you never seen Nazaric as cruel as in this volume before ;) BTW there will be 3 more LN Volumes so i guess Vol 17 will be the finale that means 1 more season of Overlord anime if they keep the pace up but we are in for a long wait (at least 2-3 years before then) for that..... What i meant is that This ending song is about Ainz past and how his companions left him alone.... This game was everything for Ainz that's why he stayed alone in Nazarik keeping it going for years even after his friends stopped playing..... this song is about that.... and that's why it's sad.

I originally watched the anime and liked it but so-bin's artwork is what led me to the light novels and I fell in love with the series.
