One reason why I've been watching your videos for what seems like forever - is that you don't fail to surprise me, either with a dish or technique. There's almost always something I learn from you and you've made me a way better, confident (home) cook. Food senses fear. Thank you
Gougeres! I just saw these being served on Chateau Dairies for a Christmas Party and I wanted to make them!!! Now you showed me how and gave me a recipe that even my husband will enjoy! Chef John, you are a Genius!
I saw the notification for this video on my phone and went "what the hell, man?" Now that I've watched the video, I can say "what the hell, man", but in an approving, warm tone. You've done it again Chef 🤝
Chef John these look absolutely beautiful and delicious! So easy. The ring trick can be used in multiple recipes! Thanks for sharing that tip! Love this❤️ thanks!
Omg just made these and ate them. Incredible and so easy. My wife is a huge burger fan and just loved them. Yeah i will be making a lot more of them. Thanks so much.
Can you imagine how good these would be with pulled pork substituted for the burger? My mouth is watering thinking about both! ❤❤❤ Thank you, Chef John!
Chopped fresh jalapeno into the batter would make it spicier and yummy…. Add some chopped cooked bacon to the batter or perhaps small slices on top for a bacon cheesepuff slider. 😊
Watching Chef John stirring, trying to scrape the bottom of the pan: I was recently introduced to the "mingling stick." I bet it would work a treat for this job!
loved this Idea chef! I've made cream puffs hundreds of times but never thought of doing anything like this, but you've opened my mind to all kinds of possibilities. Definitely will make these.
Great Video Chef John. You that if you use Cassava flour instead of plain wheat flour you will end up with a special cheese bun , we call here in Brazil, Pão de Queijo.
Those look amazing! 😋 I love how you tell us to stay calm and not freak out at the different stages. Lol Would I use a different quantity of flour if I use white spelt instead of regular wheat?
Love how they souond and look on the inside. Would adding tumeric powder give the outside a deeper color? Those tiny burgers look so appetizing and inviting.
Looks tasty John, while watching I’m thinking, is he making a puff pastry and aren’t those maybe a little too small, lol. It has all become clear that my thinking was totally unnecessary 😉. Thanks for sharing!🍔💕👍
Hey, Chef John, this sure is a good recipe. But, if you like this, you definitely should try brazilian Pão de Queijo. It's way better! Extra points if you try them with a Doce de Leite or Sweet Guava Paste (Goiabada) fillings. This mix of sweet and salty takes you straight to heaven.😋 Cheers!
I'm wondering if the jalapeno should go in the burger puck, in the bread dough, or as a slice on the burger 🤔but I have no doubt that the jalapeno belongs
You thought the burgers too small? The original sliders -- White Castle hamburgers -- so named because of their small size, were smaller than this. It's not just about the diameter of the burger; it's about the overall size and texture. They're supposed to figuratively slide down your throat. 2 ounces of beef is more than what goes into a McDonald's hamburger, which is way bigger than a slider. You need less meat, not more. If that results in the "bun" overpowering the flavor of the meat, you need to surrender your slider-cook card. That said, this still looks tasty in its own way, but definitely not a traditional slider.
this guy consistenly comes up with new and interesting recipes and yet has hardly hit 5mil subs and he's been on YT since 2009 i think. and then there's joshua weismann with his "papa kiss kwispy feet" nonsense with 12mil. Makes me sad. Keep going strong chef john
Your sound has been getting quieter and quieter with each video for the last month or two, btw. At least it is for me. I have my TV up super loud for it.
@@RedMasterJV He, he ... but mine's different. He's a full-time med school prof whose research and teaching is in preventive medicine and nutrition. I'd best not mention Chef John's cheese puff sliders.

Starting 2025 off with an all timer
I wait for that part of the video. It makes me laugh out loud.
I was going to make spaghetti and meatballs later this week, but now it'll be smashed meatballs with marinara in cheese puffs.
That sounds delicious 😋
@GM_____ they were!
These look absolutely amazing! The ring cutter trick to keep the cheese from going all over the place is genius! Thank you Chef John!

The plain version, called Gougère, are my favorite appetizer. They're also terrific stuffed with crab or smoked salmon salad
Cheese Skirt = Life Goals. I will now be requesting my Detroit Style pizza with a cheese skirt.
the algorithm has been pushing cheese puffs at me all day yesterday, Chef John really is ahead of the curve
"Slightly less ugly, and a little bit sticky" That's the nicest thing anyone's ever said about me!
Actually Campari tomatoes are good at this time of year, but only from Windset Farms which can be found at Costco and sometimes at Sam's Club.
I’m maybe getting a little old but I’m feeling very comforted just seeing that old slipat still kicking it.
That "Dimaggio of formaggio" line was the first of your bits to make me laugh! Congrats and these look terrific!
The cheese puff would make a lovely chicken salad sandwich bun! ❤ thanks for the great video, recipe and ideas!
What a cool stuff, chef John!
I'm thinking a sausage patty with some scrambled egg and a dab of hot sauce would be a star at any brunch.
Great Video Chef John. You that if you use Cassava flour instead of plain wheat flour you will end up with a special cheese bun , we call here in Brazil, Pão de Queijo.
❤ look So Good!!!!
Those look fabulous, thank you for this recipe❤
These look amazing
hey Chef John! You need to try pão de queijo, the brazilian cheese bread. I'm pretty sure it will blow your mind
I did a video for that!! I think.
There's a Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit version of this brewing in my mind...possibly for a breakfast slider
These are adorable❤🍔
Chef john these look very good , I am going to put fried floured smelt fish in mine & they taste like French fries.
Imagine this as a chicken parm slider. I can’t wait to try this
Love your recipes!

Sounds like a pate a choux mixture 🎉

Joe DiMaggio the baseball player, not to be confused with John DiMaggio, the voice of Bender 😂🤖

Top shelf Chef John rhyme
I like these. You get a nice bit of cheese with every bite. Are there ay other fillings you recommended that will taste good with them?
Try the Brazilian cheese puffs with pork loin on it. You will go mad, chef!
This has to be the most deranged and delicious thing I have seen in my entire life!

Before we slider we have to cheese 🧀 puff! Love you chef John!
I was really hoping for a Joe Bastianich reference but you went DiMaggio 😂
I'm wondering if the jalapeno should go in the burger puck, in the bread dough, or as a slice on the burger 🤔but I have no doubt that the jalapeno belongs
Cheese puff slider pizza. YO!
😊
Joe DiMaggio! Makes me think of Abbott and Costello and their Who's On First routine with Camel cigarettes as an advertiser. 😂❤
Freakishly normal-sized wooden spoon ❤️

You are the king-of-kings of someone who seasons their meat but it's scratchy and it stings.

Bread is so last century
What’s that mean? What’s “fold in the cheese” mean? 😂
My wife is gluten free. Do you think this might work with a GF all purpose flour?

Sorry, Mate, but where were the chips? I only saw crisps.
Great concoctions, as always. But I'd never dare tell my cardiologist about your recipes. They'd drive him berserk!
Nope, they keep him in business

That ring cutter suggestion is UNREAL
