In this episode I push to unlock the Arceuus spellbook and use one of Runescapes most forgotten and underused spells with an item not many people think could auto cast this spellbook. To use this spellbook I first have to train my magic without casting any spells and show off some very uncommon training methods for magic and strength.

My cosmetic item definition:
The way I will go about this is an cosmetic item is something that has been cosmetically changed, essentially giving it a different colour or look. For example dark bow paint or a Twisted ancestral colour kits change the item cosmetically.
Another thing is Items that are already cosmetically changed. Stuff like any (g) or (t) armour you get from clues. This does also include 99 capes because they get trimmed when you have 2 or more 99's. So anything that has a base form that's been changed. Items like the decorative pieces from castle wars don't count because they are already in their base form unlike an adamant platebody g which has a base form of a regular adamant platebody.
Rules
- I can only wear and cosmetic items. This also means no punching or kicking monsters as well as not manually casting spells without a cosmetic staff. The same applies for skilling but I can use tools from my inventory just not equip them until I can change them.
- I can also wear imbued and enchanted items. This opens up some other very unique items for me to use, as enchanting or imbuing does cosmetically change items. They basically get a bit lighter but you can't deny it is a cosmetic change.
Exceptions
- The Ammo slot. I can put any items in this slot. This is the only equip able spot that doesn't have to have a cosmetic item in it. This is so it makes all the cosmetic items I can get actually usable like a magic shortbow imbued.
- activities where I have to wear another item for it. For example the gauntlet, LMS and quests. Obviously this is so it doesn't lock me out of quests and items I can get in the future.

You can change the appearance of the lantern from its base form, definitely something you should be able to use
Yeah I did look further into it and completely missed that you can add coloured logs into it. Honestly never knew because I have never gotten one on any of my accounts lmao. So hopefully this account I get one
@@ZayzedDoesn't have to be colored logs, all logs change the appearance of the fire and it becomes for example abyssal lantern (redwood logs)

Yeah it is. I looked into it more and found out you can actually add coloured logs into it which I had no idea about since I haven't got one in all my GOTR on any account lmao
I remember using Dark Demonbane every time I got an unskippable Greater/Black demon task.
I've never had more random people come up to me and ask what the hell I was doing, to which I'd casually reply "Hitting 50s on demons, hbu?"
The combat spells from the spellbook are so underrated

I am excited to maybe have one in the future to. I could still make it a 50 attack account and go for the granite maul instead since I will need the obby maul ornament kit from hard clues which is a 1/1625 for a specific drop. Plus I want the berserker necklace ornament kit which is the same rate. Just gonna have to see how lucky/unlucky I am

It's only about 4.8k strength xp an hour at tempoross so I would have had to have gotten to 35 fishing and strength to have done the barb fishing there when the blast furnace was 12k an hour starting at 30 strength
Wait. Point of clarity, you said you couldn't use an abyssal lantern, but you can change it's aesthetic by adding wood to it.

You can also use Runescape's much *more* forgotten spell without A Kingdom Divided: Inferior Demonbane.
Yeah I plan to use that when I start up slayer again since I needed 44 magic which is what I ended slayer on ;)
Great episode. But i have to ask, why not use inferior demonbane spell from the arceuus spell book during your slayer task against the demons? it's way stronger against the demons than the grasp spell. Seems like a missed opportunity.
I needed 44 magic for the inferior demon bane which I ended on with my final trip. But when I go back in the future it will be the spell I'll be using :)

Technically the lantern changes if you light it with different logs, so cosmeticly different. Also so poison weapons count as cosmetics?

I'm gonna limit them. Well range is what I'm gonna be using with a magic shortbow imbued into an obby maul. So magic can keep even with range if need be

Does adding poison count as changing it esthetically? If so, you could poison the dragon spear.
Nah I wouldn't count poison as a cosmetic upgrade
Don't forget, you can level melee stats for free up to 8 I believe in the dummies by Varrock east
The dummies only let you train attack. So since I am going for the strength pure I couldn't have unfortunately

I could have but I didn't wanna go through the effort of going there and dying while I try and get into the middle section since I don't have prayer, defence or high hp since it's multi and they can hit 10's
Against sand crabs, shouldn't you have gotten some iron armor to help a little bit?
He can't equip it unless it's gold or trimmed iron.
Yeah I could have done some clues for the trimmed armour but that was my only way really. Rock crabs still hurt in iron so I think moving on to the chickens was the call

How is the skull sceptre cosmetic? It's its own unique weapon surely. Like it doesn't have nor behave like an ornament kit.
I mention in my rules that I can use imbued and enchanted items. They cosmetically change when enchanting or imbuing them so I included them. Plus it opens up many unused items like the skull sceptor being used as a weapon or a magic staff. Just feels more interesting

why cant you use the lantern? when you add logs to it, it does change the item, following your ruleset iirc.
Oh wow your comment actually made me look into it more. So you can place normal logs and light it to become a lit lantern which I would not count as a cosmetic upgrade. But you can actually add coloured logs to the lantren instead which I had no idea you could do. So yeah I can use it since that would then be a cosmetic which is sick

Yeah there not the best or kinda comparable with the regular spellbook with a spell of the same level. The spells are just way to niche. Dark demonbane can hit a max of 60 on demons in max gear. But the thing is your not really ever going demon tasks on a main. So ironmen can get a bit of use out of it, same for the grasp spells really
Why dont you train prayer?
Since I'm making the pure account I only really want 31 prayer until I finish the bounty hunter kits I want. So for that I am going to look into what quests I need and how much prayer xp that will give then work out prayer after that :)

yeah dude fell off real bad, i stopped watching when he was complaining about being like, on drop rate for one of the voidwaker pieces after getting 2 or 3 of them like extremely under rate
With the briefs some sponsors give you it's basically impossible to get it at 1 minute. They have must mentions that have to be included in the video and that usually pushes the video to the minute mark along before you have to do the call to action at the end telling people about the rewards and benefits of joining. I really do try and make them a minute which is the lowest your allowed, but trust me it's really hard

You been talking about the new str training for 3 minutes, thats better and all. I dont think thats a good design for videos, specially osrs, where most of people knows the game very well

this new trend of not putting the correct title cuz you are trying to clickbait like a tryhard is ungodly annoying
do you make videos of the viewers? for the fans? for the love of the game?
or do you make them for the views and money?
cuz when you take this route you are shouting to the world one of these answers
think about it, i invite you to think why this trick even works in the first place, someone browsing youtube and seeing an unumbered video like this with some cool title is more likely to click the video cuz at a glance there's no "prior video" this person has to watch, that's how you catch people clicking these
but is that what you want to foster? this alianates your core audience cuz everyone knows what this is trying to pull, by not numbering stuff you are giving the middle finger to the true fans who are waiting for next episode, we want the #2
This all probably sounds rich and quite silly, but its just how i feel, i believe that this tactic really pushes back on fostering any real fans for the sake of quick views, which arguably can push the video up on recommended bringing it to the attention of more possible "fans" but i believe my point stands

Thanks for the comment you explained your view really well. I'll write some stats of why I decide to publish some of the videos without the numbers but yes it is mainly to attract more new viewers and grow my audience because people would see a number after the title and not want to click because of the commitment to the prior episodes. I do add the number back into the title after a few days and youtube is very good at pushing out videos multiple times to people in youtube home so fans who didn't click it previously will see it with the series name and number later.
This video is currently a 2/10 for me. Which means out of my past 10 uploads this is currently my second most watched from it's upload.
My subscribers have actually clicked this video more than typical videos to. Currently I have 3.1k views from subscriptions feed when it's usually 2.3k - 2.9k with this many views.
This video also got a higher amount of my subscribers to click on it. My episode 25 of Boss locked got 55% of views from subscribers while this one is currently sitting at 58%. I think this is due to it not having a number and it getting pushed out more since people that have fallen out of my content have clicked on this episode then pushing it to more of my subs.
It's honestly funny how the number effects it so much and of course I do want to grow so it getting seen by more people is also a good thing. Plus with it not having a negative affect on subs watching is great. If I saw I had like half as many subs clicking the video as normal I would give up and add the number and series name but with more currently clicking this episode I see it as a win win :)
Hopefully that explains a little about my thoughts behind why I do it

First of all i want to thank you for the data, I love having actual data to work with
That being said I'd like to point out a few things, for starters, new series always catch more views, especially the first few episodes, a youtuber who exemplifies this to a T is Direwolf20, look at his videos and at the trends and you'll get exactly what I mean
Another factor that i feel should be pointed out is that the core concept this new series you're pushing is incredible, honestly better than settled's 1 HP account, plus you are an up and comer and on the osrs community we like to support and get behind the new guys
And I feel that that's about all i have to say honestly, I love the concept as i've stated, and i dont think im gonna stop watching for a reason so incredibly petty, i wish you all the best with the series
@@aTypicalGabriel Yeah I did debate using the number on this episode or not pretty heavily and only really decided for the risk since this is like the second or 3rd time I have tried it.
But yeah I was not going to do it since it is the second episode and therefore not really any commitment to start he series now. So I will be adding in the series name and number right on 24 hrs of upload time which is pretty soon.

I would try having a bit more engaging footage while doing long monologues rather than just your character walking for consecutive minutes.
Like throw up some graphics and images of areas you’re talking about, and maybe even filter your dialogue a little. Rather than giving a long, drawn out paragraph. Give us bullet points or bite sized pieces of info.
That whole section of you in the library made me want to fast forward or just click off the video entirely because it just sounded like you were monologuing and I had nothing to visually keep me stimulated because you were just walking in game.
