  • In this video, we break down, step-by-step, how to take a PROPER wrist shot to improve the accuracy and power behind your shot.
A couple of the keys to our wrist shot are first figuring out where our hands should be on your stick, but also where they should be around your body.
It is also important to know what role each of your hands play on the stick - your top hand is your control hand, and your bottom hand is your power hand.
Having the puck in our shooting box (the space about a blade length away from our stick side skate) when we shoot is also going to really impact the strength and accuracy of our shot.

I've never played hockey, but I find myself watching his videos. They're educational, meticulously detailed, and easy to understand what he's saying. 👍

Yes tou are correct. Often times they pull the puck in with their toe before releasing it. On their « pull shots » they tend to release the puck off their toe but sometimes it is released from the toe to middle of their blade. It’s a great shot that adds movement to the puck as they pull it closer to their body on the release.

They do, but pretty sure they did not start that way, instead, mastered heel to toe, and they do it to change the angle of the shot, not as a way of adding power.
