    Thank you so much for this video. I’m going to Korea for my undergraduate studies in February and I have to do a one year language program. I am currently an intermediate speaker in Korean and my listening skill is just average and this video and your other videos have really helped me a lot. I’m also going to use this method when I get to Korea next year 😊

    Thank you. Understanding was always the hardest part in any laguage for me. I think the study tip from 8:15 is what will work best for me as my goal is... to learn Korean. I mean dramas introduced me to it, but even if dramas should vanish (Please God, no!) I'd still learn because I'm madly in love with the language. I'm sure step 5 would help immensely. If only I had a Korean friend... For those who seek content with subtitles, I'd advise watching Jadoo.

    So relatable...understanding BTS' lives is one of my fundamental motivations for learning Korean! I'm at the point where I can pick out some words and common phrases, so I know I'm making progress 😀

    Thank you for this video! I been noticing my hearing comprehension of Korean is by far my weakest point, but I also have a hearing disability, so I knew this was going to be a struggle when I started learning. So I highly appreciate this video!

      I don't have a hearing disability, but still is my biggest weaknest is listening. Not only korean, but in all languages. It's a hell. I can speak, I can read, I can write (doesn't matter of grammar quality, lol), but I can't understand. It's so annyoing. And sad. And no fair, sic.

      Do were hearing aids?

    • @Brolly813
      @Brolly813 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@sunflowerproductions8259 Sadly no, because the hearing issue is more mental than physical. I used to wear earbuds and my teachers wore a microphone that went direct to them, it works in a classroom setting, but sadly not practical for daily life. Out in public I just have to find quiet places to hear people well, or nod and just let them think I hear them (do this more often than I would like to admit). For work I wear noise cancelling headsets to better hear on virtual meetings, which luckily all my meetings are virtual meetings. But there are benefits of my hearing disability, I have never once had a song stuck in my head, mostly because I know zero lyrics to any songs.

    The most effective way to improve your skills in korean is talking with koreans who can't understand English 😂 you're just have no choice at this moment ~ and honestly, I like that because my mistakes in pronunciation, voca or grammar just stuck in my mind forever 😅 and nervous when you talking is okay at the same time your brain searching information as a Google "okay we talk about foods-> and foods vocabulary here~

    Speaking of focusing on one type of content. I used to study Japanese and I studied my heart out taking courses in the classroom, later online, later moving to Japan etc. The bulk of my listening practice (for a while) was tutors/teachers and anime. I got pretty ok at understanding both styles of Japanese after I ton of hours put into it. I still couldn't understand "real" Japanese or just speaking to normal Japanese people who didn't have lots of experience adjusting their speech for learners. But I could understand anime so I felt gipped. Well maybe not gipped - I was frustrated. After many failed or partially failed or just many conversations where I struggled like hell it slowly got better. Basically, if you want to understand "spoken" Korean with normal Korean people you'll probably have to go out and talk to normal people who aren't teachers per se. I'd like to speach to normal Korean people but I'm starting to think if I don't up and move to Korea I'm just not going to get enough opportunities to really do it. dd

    It's super hard to make Korean friends, as you know. lol I'm old and an introvert. But my hatred of going all the way to Seoul for appointments has made me wing it. Next time I get a mammo though, I should watch some medical videos. ha But I got through my two Genuis Bar appointments in full Korean. I'm intermediate level but my knowledge of tech helped me out the most with that one. Cause I just wasn't going to Seoul even though I'm in Incheon.

    So! My big question from this is, "Do you have a way to get Suchwita transcripts?" Because I rely on the Korean auto-generated captions . . . which are better than nothing. I would be so excited to get my hands on a real transcript from an episode.
