    This was posted 2 years ago and still helping people. My para 3 is looking great. Put new scales and ended up off center. Thanks for the video.

    This worked like a champ after I took apart my PM2 Crucarta for maintenance, and it wouldn't center back no matter how much I tightened and loosened everything

    This technique works sometimes, But in my experience a badly off-center PM2 usually has a burr on the Stainless liner around pivot or barrel spacers! Thanks for video

    I appreciate your content. Quick and to the point. Thanks very much!
    I will say that you can probably skip the pivot and go straight to the handle scale on the side which the blade is favoring. Open the blade and apply pressure to the blade towards the scale it was favoring when closed since the blade is now oriented 180 degree in the opposite direction. Loosen the scale apply pressure in the direction the blade was favoring when it was closed, and then tighten the scale back up again. It should be centered once closed. No need to mess with the pivot unless you have to continue trouble shooting.
    Hope this helps. God bless

    After you've done this, you can also try to open the blade and press the blade towards the direction it is off-centered while in closed position. Use a table edge or something to rest the blade on. Use some force, but not excessive. To loosen loctite, use a soldering iron.

    Bought a PM2 in replacement of my oh so close yet failed attempt to customize my Para 3 with some Lime Grn G10 scales, the lanyard tube was no problem but I just started getting into collecting using abusing and sharpening knives and I did not know how to put a knife back together so basically my Para 3 is trash collecting dust never to be used because of the pivot tightening and stripping of those darn screws I keep hearing so much negative reviews about (in reference to manufacturers using red loctite i.e. Spyderco but then again the stripping of the torx was more my fault

    • @BladeStuff
      @BladeStuff  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like the PM2 for sure. I am pretty sure they changed the loctite in 2017 . Have you tried Spyderco to see if they could sell you new pivot screws? might be worth a shot at least. Good luck ! Thanks for commenting

    This technique doesn't always work.

    • @BladeStuff
      @BladeStuff  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would have to agree with that. In my experience, this method or a simple pivot adjustment works the majority of the time, but some knives are just much more difficult to center. On top of that, some knives just don't want to center at all. This is just my opinion based on my experience. I appreciate your comment.

    When you spend $200 for a folding knife, you should not have to fiddle with blade centering. One of the biggest failings of Spyderco.

      Any knife can go off center

    • @Prizrak-hv6qk
      @Prizrak-hv6qk 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My first two Spyderco knives, a Military 2 and Manix XL "CruCarta", came absolutely perfect but my new YoJumbo is just a hot mess. Came with the blade off center, pivot too tight and some of the screws loose. This trick didn't help with getting it centered and the pivot doesn't seem to provide for a "sweet spot" where the knife opens and closes as nicely as the other two and doesn't also have side to side blade play. The pivot screws also come loose after 10 or so open and closes. It's not the kind of stuff one would expect from a $200 US made knife. :(
