‘Third-world conditions’ at Limerick hospital: ‘My mother’s last hours were horrendous’

  • A Limerick woman has warned that her mother’s last few hours on this earth were “absolutely horrendous” due to the “third world conditions” at the University Hospital Limerick Emergency Department.
Over the last few days, Lunchtime Live has been highlighting the conditions at the Limerick hospital, which is regularly the most overcrowded in the country.
A protest was held at the hospital this afternoon as the Health Minister Stephen Donnelly and HSE Chief Bernard Gloster were visiting.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) has described UHL’s Emergency Department as a ‘war zone’ - and Lunchtime Live has been flooded with emails from patients about the conditions all this week.
Limerick woman Teri told the show that her mother was admitted to the Emergency Department six months ago today after suffering a heart attack.
She said she will “never, ever forget” what happened next for as long as she lives.
“When we got to the hospital, there was no room for them to actually bring Mum through,” she said.
“So the ambulance driver - it was a bit like the scene from an officer and a gentleman - he picked Mum up and carried her in his arms to a trolley.
“The place was absolutely jammers. It's just something I will never forget.
“If I could have taken her out of there, I would but that’s the problem, you've no choice; when somebody is that sick, you just have to take a chance and stay there.
“What I saw and what I heard and the smells will stay with me forever, I think.
“I drive past there [now] and I bless myself and I just say, ‘Please God, nobody that I know will ever have to face that in there again.
    “It was absolutely horrendous.”

Every hospital in this country is an utter disgrace. The way my mom was treated while she was dying is something my family and i will never get over. How can a terminally ill patient who is bed bound have their bell plugged out? My poor Mammy had to ring home to ask for a drink of water 😢😢😢

Have you heard the bullying of elderly inside hospitals? Neill Prendeville did a special about it in September 2020. Liveline Joe Duffy show did a special about it back in 2011 off the back of Ann-Marie Kearns article in the Irish Times or Irish Independent. Neglect and bullying of the elderly inside hospitals has been highlighted since 2011, nothing has changed.

Not sure if it will make any difference for you have Simon Harris in the drivers seat who was very much behind the health scandal that triggered a general election 🤔 and what is making it much more worse is that the majority of media networks are protecting these politicians censoring comments on their social media platforms and in public as well the only way to deal with this is very much hit the streets around the country making massive massive noise that will put them in the spotlight on the world stage that they absolutely hate and fear of being seen as the most unpopular ever in Irish politics history on the world stage

And the numbers will just keep on growing very fast before the next general election Ireland has to reach their WEF NGO'S Brussels bosses quotas especially on the people who are keep on arriving in Ireland with false documents and absolutely zero documents and be absolutely 💯 % sure that a massive massive intake arrivals of Palestinians refugees majority young military fighting age men and just a few hundred of women and children to use for their media propagandists mouth piece, yes and they will certainly continue to tell you the Irish public that they have a international protection obligation to take in these new arrivals and every single thing will be very much free and they can work with out any need for work permits and this will literally drive the young Irish people out of their very own country, support their so called Palestinians protest is exactly the very same thing that they did with the Ukrainians before they opened Ireland's boarders for the Ukrainians, remember this comment you will see it happening soon they will wait just until all of the election is over then the massive massive intake operations will really start to kick in and yes you will see massive of more Irish people becoming homeless due to this and more Irish families doing couches 🛋 sleepers in their parents home and other families homes to avoid becoming homeless on the streets and the majority media networks will keep censoring comments on this topic and brush it under the carpet as there is nothing to see here.

My experience was horrendous, the nurses talked over me about how many breaks they had , when is your next day off . ? How did you enjoy the wedding? Where are you going on holidays? And to beat it all a nurse blamed us for lying on trolleys , because we didn’t support them while they went on strike. On the upside the people coming from the third world will completely feel at home

Funny thing. That's lies. Maybe u should try to be a nurse. Then u will see how much work we do fir ur families. Every single day we put in 110% . U can only try the change the system when the people who sit in their offices try also. This is the difficult part as they don't see what goes on on the floor. I worry about my family going to hospital too. Not all cultures work well together also, if people don't pull their weight and expect others to do it all the whole system breaks down. This is what I've been seeing.

I gave up and stuck it out in my hotel and went to the doctor back in Ireland. I also called the emergency NHS number and nobody answered. Uk health system is in a shambles as well as Irish one.

Horrifying story that sounds like a nightmare only we know it's real and it's because we don't have the public services or infrastructure to deal with the two million or more extra people we have in our small country.
Ireland isn't a rich country either because tonight in the endless Geoengineered rain and in the cold and rain all winter, there are thousands of homeless Irish people sleeping in tents, shelters, cars , doirways and other unsuitable places without hope of a home.
All our homes are in jeopardy too because the Government are insisting on bringing in unlimited numbers of even more migrants even though there's nowhere to put our own people or them.
Things have broken down so much and now Helen McCentee wants to bring in North Korean type Hate Crime Laws where you can be jailed for just speaking or writing "recklessly".
Then there's the World Health Organisation Pandemic Treaty due to take effect in May ending our Sovereignty and giving the WHO supreme powers.
Even our food supplies are under attack from the Globalists using Geoengineering to turn the fields invto bogs that farmers can't plant crops in.
They are on about water scarcity again and are saying that we must use it sparingly and that new houses will have to have water conservation taps and showers, I assume that means giving out a trickle while connected to electricity and a Smart Meter.
Meanwhile the latest is that hundreds of thousands of euro will be put into outdoor swimming facilities.

I've just been a patient in Tallaght hospital. I know the A&E is always over run. Once on the wards, they were amazing. Professional and empathetic. It's a disgrace that our government is neglecting the health service, and I'm sorry to say they are flooding the country with more people, who will also need access to these services. Nobody wins except the HSE's senior management on bloated wages, and the politicians who have no will to take the problem on, but are happy to accept the wages.
