Wow! The dynamic range is absurdly good on the Alexa 35. Just as the competitors were finally starting to catch up with them and their old sensor tech they go and make this camera, lol. Truly astonishing!
Honestly all test that shoot charts are kind of dumb. What's important is how those lenses render people. I learned more in this lens test than any other test. There always has to an emotional context with it, not just technical specifications. Man! Awesome test!

To me the 35 looks cleaner and neutral and the LF leans towards green sometimes…… both look great and cinematic…. I think the LF looks softer while the 35 looks more crisp and clean. So interesting!!! I can imagine color matching will not be a problem, I would love to see how they look matched to see the differences in the sensor. Will the files be available for us to download? Thaaaanks!

This is an incredible test! Thank you so much for producing this! - We're a super small production company based in Austria and are currently looking to invest in an ARRI camera and are therefore doing our research evaluating the new ARRI 35 vs the Mini LF. In this test, I thought the color science of the ARRI 35 looked so much more cinematic than the Mini LF, but I wonder how difficult it would be to match the colours in the grade. As Austria is small and it's not easy to get proper access to such high end equipment to test before investing, I was wondering if there might be any way to maybe receive one or two of the original shot files for us to do a test grade in order to help us evaluate our upcoming purchase? - This would be such a huge help for a small production house like ours and of course the files would be handled solely internally, I can even put that in writing or sign an NDA. Please let me know at any time and we can exchange contact details, we would be really grateful if this were possible! Thanks for getting back to me and all the best, - Nick
Just waiting for Cinematch to the get the 35's color science and match my LF to it. The ALEVIII still lives on IMO. It just has that look. If I need clinical then I can use some Sigma lenses with an IR filter in front to cut down on the green. But it's not an outdated look, it's just different. And DPs can finally shoot their Netflix originals with Arri.
What a difference in image quality. What an image. Both of these cameras may be the best cameras for video quality that money can buy. ARRI signature prime lenses are giving the best colours. This is very interesting. I like the mini LF with 25mm ARRI Signature Prime Lens.
