god i was in the middle of watching another one of your videos and this notification nearly gave me a heart attack :') you know, you've really helped me realize how important mouse sensitivity is to playing a character with such high mobility. i used to be so disoriented every time i blinked, but ever since i upped the sensitivity a little, it's been easier to kinda figure out where i was lol. that and automatic flicking toward the target's direction thing. that's my favorite.
Dibz This drill is old but still not outdated, it really helps out! Thx Dibz! PS: Do you generally aim for the head or neck? I heard people say aiming for the neck is better as Tracer.
From what I've heard it's also adviced to use the entire lower arm to aim. the larger muscle groups involved makes it easier to store muscle memory. Also, it allows the use of your wrist for the final precision.
Anders Gjolme Eriksen I started using the forearm because I was lazy and rested it on my desk, and it works great. Wrist doesn't get tired after a long period of playing.
Thank you so much mate! I really appreciate this! Because of this I went from doing gold elims and silver damage to gold damage, gold elims, gold objective kills and got me to compete like this in diamond!
+Russell Siozon Glad this guide was able to help! The hardest part honestly, is figuring out where to improve, and then improving on it! :) Keep up the practice!
Much appreciated! I imagine many romanticize the notion of playing Tracer as fluidly as animations portray, but the reality seems more that she requires earned finesse and accurate, constant twitching to achieve near that level. These practices, as with the Widowmaker aiming practices, really do help!
Hey +Ryv Mutsu ! Really appreciate the feedback, and that the practices have been helping you :) I do admit that Tracer does take a lot of practice, but the level of fluidity you describe is definitely achievable, by all! Keep at it! :D
+Det Soplet That's amazing to hear! I'm glad I was able to provide you with something you needed! Keep practicing, and you'll see improvement in no time :) I honestly think that Overwatch has been one of the greatest FPS's to come out, just because of how different it is, and how deep strategy can go! Good luck, and let me know how the drills go for you!
In my opinion....it really depends on how accurate you are with your shots currently. If you are pretty good/consistent already and are super comfortable with it on....then maybe stick to it on. But honestly, I've been playing with it on my whole life, until about 2 years ago, and when I finally found out about turning it off, I've kept it off ever since. It's been great after that haha, never found a reason to go back, and my aiming improved noticeably. It was weird at first of course, but it didn't take too long to get used to. I'd say give it a shot, consistency is veryyyy important in FPS! :)
I had it on for awhile unknowingly and I turned it off a week or two ago. I definitely helped my accuracy, especially on characters such as Genji where you have to constantly flick/whip around and are jumping all over the place. If you have mouse acceleration on, your aim will be inconsistent, even if you are used to it.
The thing with mouse acceleration is that the amount your cursor move always changes to some degree, giving it no consistency. It's actually impossible to get any sort of muscle memory with it on. With that in mind, you're not actually losing anything by switching it off, but you will be able to improve greatly once it's off as you can finally start relying on your muscle memory more.
I've recently fallen in love with playing Tracer but I've been stuck in silver for a while now. It's obvious that Im capable for much higher but I have to deal with toxic and non communicating teammates. I'm absolutely going to start implementing this into my gameplay and hope to start carrying games until I can finally escape the hell that is silver/ gold. Earned a sub, thank you man Edit: just realized it's a really old vid haha
I'm definitely practicing these drills, hopefully it will help my aim with mouse and keyboard. I currently play on console so controller Is what I feel comfortable with, but soon I will transition to pc and I need to adapt to mouse and keyboard. nice video BTW :)
Rick plays2much make sure you get used to moving your arm not just your wrist when handling your mouse for large movements and wrist for tiny ones and lastly make sure you're using your keyboard to move quite a bit on every character jumping strafing etc, but before that I suggest finding the right sensitivity for your self and getting use to the more precise movements of a mouse
The fist time i've played overwatch i killed 0 to 4 per game .After a one month of practcing and using those Drills ,i can kill from 13 to 30 per game. Thank you Dibz
mayllo222 you could use the same concepts/training drills for the PS4! I think they'd help you out just fine, but the sensitivity part, you may have to do some research or more self-digging :x
This is literally the most useful tracer guide i have found, props to you man for making this - helps out a lot of players out there. all the others tracer "in-depth" vids claim to cover the advanced aspects of tracer and her class but are kinda useless to other experienced tracers who are willing to learn because they only covers the basics - nothing advanced or note worthy. Oh btw, I also have the G602 - great mouse! Anyway you need more subs man, videos like this deserve them. keep up the good work and tracer on!
Hey +Ian Dunn! Thanks for the awesome comment, and I'm really happy to hear that you found the guide useful in some way :) I'm not quite sure if you have seen my other in-depth Tracer guide, but I go over strategy and other tips, rather than how to mechanically aim better in this video! If you have checked it out already though, thanks :)! th-cam.com/video/AEMUNXjLM_4/w-d-xo.html Also, yes, I love the G602! Saw my friend using it and tried it out, and it fit my hand like a glove :D
Thanks so much for posting this video. Have only started playing Overwatch recently, but already really enjoy the Tracer play style. Needless to say I'm not great with it yet and this kind of "hojo undo" for Tracer skills is proving a godsend for me rather than just being food for enemies while I try to figure it out better :).
+David McCaughan I know exactly what you're talking about, as I was the same way when I first started playing her! Really fun to play, but hard to get used to and learn. However, with training, practice, and a good mindset, I'm sure you'll see lots of improvement ;) Keep it up!
+Dibz I realize you reply to all your comments so I don't want to cause you more work than necessary, but I was compelled to come back and report in... I'm getting soooooo much better with Tracer (and my aim with other chars is amazingly better) and I owe it entirely to your videos and drills...well, and the work I do practicing them. For the first time in a game today I was told I was a good Tracer *boggle*. Who knew that could happen (I'm not that good by your standards, but you know what I'm getting at). Thanks again so much for enhancing my game play so much. I'm subscribed, will be following and am already guilty of trying to push your videos/channel at other people :/. Onward good man, keep up the impressive body of work! Edit: I should add - it's not just this video - all your videos. Your live recordings with or without commentary are what has taught me to really pay attention to targets during the heat of the scrum and go after what matters. The skills are nothing without the awareness to go with it or you're just a Roadhog-sickle. I used to fear Roadhog and now I see him and get excited as he's just food.
David McCaughan hey man, that's super awesome to hear :) It really makes me happy to know that people are seeing themselves improve, because well, everyone likes to feel that their time spent practicing pays off, right? :p Thanks for the follow up though, I really appreciate the gratitude that you have shown :) Keep it up, I'm sure that in time, you can be better than you thought possible!
You make this look so easy! I have huge issues trying to find the right sensitivity and my aim is really inconsistent. I have my moments of good aim. But I miss a lot of easy solo kills and things like that. The problem I have is that I simply cannot play with low sensitivity and using my arm instead of my wrist. You have 6 and that is just unplayable for me. I need to have over 20 and I have very slight movements in my wrist. I'm just so used to it and I feel I can never improve because of that. :( Ah well. Really good video by the way, I'll be doing these drills a lot.
+Wariopunk25 How much do you have to move your wrist to do a 180 degree turn (turn around)? If you don't use your arm at all, or are uncomfortable with it, that's fine. You can just try to max out your flicks, and make bigger flicks, instead of tiny wrist movements. Tiny movements are also bad for your wrist, in the long run (maybe not for everyone, but just in general). I'd say to just decrease your sensitivity until you're at the point where you have to move your arm to do everything comfortably, and then increase it slightly from there, so you don't use arm movement. Let me know how it goes!
If I learn how to aim,it's only thanks to you,I never played a fps,so this really helped It's been 2/3 months that I play, but I never thanked you to have teach me back then, thank you dude
Yes, it actually does. This video was released way back before I was able to find any info on that, so I decided just to be safe :p it doesn't hurt though XD
Great tips, Dibz! I would like to see a more in-depth video in Tracer's blink aim because there's a few things that can save a ton of time by knowing before-hand, mainly the way blink follows your key and how to stay linear instead of blinking and going backwards like around 9:40.
Lately I been messing with sensitively, etc. and trying to getgood at tracer, too. I just want to add, I think instead of measuring to the edge, it is better to measure 1 or 2 inches from the edge (for swiping 180s), because it is a bit awkward playing right up to the edge, and it is good to have some grace room because YOU WILL NOT always have the fortune of starting your 180 swipes from the middle of your mouse pad. Though, bigger priority than all that is just making sure your swipe is a natural, comfortable motion and a natural, comfortable distance for you. Also, mouse pad size is important. I play on a 360mm x 300mm mouse pad. And, I am now thinking I need a a wider one. I see a mouse pad just like mine but 900mm wide. That sounds dope; I'm gonna get something like that. This is all just my opinion as a tracer neophyte.
I hadn't even thought about checking the desktop sensitivity... My basic tracking was pretty decent before, but I was always a little wild when flicking, taming it back a tick here and there calmed it down so I'm hitting those few extra shots much better now. I'm actually stoked to run these drills before matches tomorrow :) Cheers dude!
Good tips and advice in this video, but tbh, I had already figured most of this out for myself but I still enjoyed watching and expect it's probably going to be helpful for a lot of people.
Another tip i would like to add which can make up for 'bobbling' to a certain extent is aiming for the targets neck instead of head. When tracer fires the pistol, there's gonna be spread across in all directions and the bullets that go vertically upsides will miss the target's head if you aim straight for their head due to recoil. This was taken from IDDQD or Surefours Tips. [Forgot who]. Overally great in depth video!
Lucio/support main here. Decided I need to pick up some other roles in order to get out of my rank/have more fun. Your videos are awesome man thank you very much and hope you keep at it!
I do have some tips, try switching the ultimate button to L1/LB so then you don't have to let go off your right analog and use LT/L2 to blink, thats all I got :)
Nice video. I recently started playing Tracer and Reaper and I've been using a lot of these suggestions to increase my accuracy. Right now I have a G502 from Logitech and running it at 1200 DPI and 5-6 sensivity on my in-game settings has helped me raise my accuracy in game about 5-6%. Thanks a lot, Dibz!
damn, the precision mouse enabled thing.. it was on the whole time I was playing... thank you soo much... what a difference having a consistent reticle.
This is exactly the video I wanted to find on this channel. :D I've been playing Tracer a bit this season and average 40% accuracy in Comp. I've already been doing about 75% of the stuff you talked about in the video, but I can't wait to see how much I improve when I implement 100% of it. Love your gameplay but most of all your attitude. Keep up the great work. :)
+Machine Emulator thank you for the support :) Really happy to hear that the guide was able to help you out some ^_^! Give the drills a shot, they'll help improve your accuracy!
Wow this guide helped me ALOT really ALOT:D Once I started using these drills and tips my Tracer gameplay have been insanely good like from having 20-30 elim in ranked to 40-60 elim and on top of that my AIM has increased so much! Thank you Dibz!
+Traceur haha gotta love your name dude! But yea, that's awesome to hear :) That's quite an improvement yo! Have you been playing ranked as well? Keep it up :D!
+Dibz Yes! Alot of ranked it has gone up and down and my peak were 63 almost got that 65 but now im at 59 but it doesn't Matter my New goal is just to get better at the game and become a tracer / player god :) u have helped me so much! Keep up the awesome content really looking forward to see ur channel grow !
Traceur thank you so much for the kind comment :) Really happy to hear that you've been improving your gameplay :D dang, you're ALMOST THERE to 65! Keep it up, I know you can do it :) Good luck!!
If you are on ps4 I recommend changing your jump to L2 instead of the X button on your ps4 remote. L2 just serves as another button to blink on Tracer along with L1. This way you don't have to lift your thumb off of the Right Analog Stick in order to click the X button and jump. Tracer is one of the few characters you can do this with since her L2 doesn't do anything different than her L1.
Haha thank you! And honestly, this guide would help you, no matter which hero you play! The general drills would help your accuracy overall, but yes, if you plan to play a lot of Tracer, the rest should help :)
I was watching videos to improve my aim but couldn't find any new ones for Tracer and suddenly yours just pop up. Saw the entire and will try your warm up to help me out. So far your videos for Tracer & Widowmaker helped me a lot and I'm playing on PS4 so definitely keep the excellent work, dood. =)
I'm glad I was able to help you out at the right time :D! Thank you for your support, I really appreciate it! Really hope these tips help you out, even on the PS4 :)
I have found that I have better sessions overall if I spend about 5 to 10 minutes in the training area versus not warming up. If I jump into a game without a warmup I can do alright but not as well as if I warmed a bit. Nice video I really enjoyed it. If I meet any new players I will refer them here for help. Best advice for beginners for sure.
Thanks @Dibz this video was really helpful! Tracer is by far my best and favourite hero. In competitive (I'm diamond) any time we were doing bad (even if I was main tank or healer) I would switch to Tracer and would 75% of the time win the game. I thought I was doing great......until I met my match. I have dealt with all my counters from roadhogs that don't miss hooks to God like McCrees but someone decided I was a problem and wanted to pull out something they were VERY good at and it was Tracer. I couldn't touch him, He/She was incredible. It made me realise that I need to step it up. I knew I wasn't the best Tracer in the world but I knew if I was playing Tracer I could pull stuff out of the bag that makes my team win.
+Jacob Noel I've had those days as well, and honestly, Tracer really just feels good when I play her in comp. It's tough though, as sometimes the enemy team can counter you pretty hard, and knowing when to switch off is pretty key in playing a good Overwatch game. BUT, I do agree that she can be used pretty well if you can adapt to the situation. Keep it up :)
Great video - so useful to see how you do it yourself. I generally have pretty good, consistent aim but find myself lacking sometimes when it comes to Tracer, due to her sheer speed and how intense it can get in battle. The drills and focus on developing muscle memory are perfect. Thanks :)
Haha what a coincidence! :D I'm glad that you were able to find both of them helpful! Let me know if you have any further questions about them, I'm always happy to answer :)
dude just got overwatch a few days ago and really like tracer (played 10 hours of here and next most is hanzo with 1 :P) and these videos have really helped me improve and start to stomp my scrub quick match games. seriously thanks for these bids and merry Christmas
One thing to help with your aim is that beginners and some experienced tracer mains shake a lot when they are in an intense situation, the fix? When you are shaking, calm down and try to slow down. My first few experiences as tracer I fucking shoot all over the place, but I disciplined myself and aim and achieve kills a lot more.
Learned about the mouse enhance thing yesterday, I changed that and dropped my sense from 9 to 6 + took all advice you and Your Overwatch had about tracer...first game: played my best game ever and got POTG which was ages ago! right after, played zen and did crazy good too! Thx bro :D
Dibz so I'm struggling with the aim, it's a bit higher cuz I feel I lift the mouse too much, specially with the 180s. it's like 8.5 now. I can do 180 without lifting on 6 but the motion is so unnatural. maybe cuz I just learned from so many years to lift the mouse and now have to retrain my hand muscle memory. what u think? thanks again!
This was brilliant. I use Shift for reload (so you can do it as you blink to always have a full clip), LMB for main, RMB for blink and always have ult on middle mouse wheel. Found id keep rewinding when trying to reload and found it to be much more fluid controls. Maybe it helps someone.
I'd say to those who have been playing on PC (already have muscle memory), try and flick with higher and lower sensitivity to see if you need to fine adjust for better consistency. I used Mcrees to fine adjust the flick shot and it made it more consistent when switching to Tracer as well.
Love this video! helped me a lot, especially the mouse acceleration. my Logitech Program even had an additional checkbox for that, which made me do 270 degree movements sometimes. And even you still get hate for choosing tracer in competitive, after doing this training over and over, they get pretty quiet afterwards in the match. The video is not exhausting, just shows how tricky it is to play as tracer.
You are a very cool person. ^^ And a good coach/teacher as well. You explain the crucial points as well as very useful details, and do it all very well.
Just for the record in case you guys missed the memo... windows sensitivity including acceleration DOES NOT in any way affect Overwatch once you are actually playing, which is DIFFERENT from the mouse behavior when you are in Overwatch menu, which IS affected by windows mouse settings. Overwatch uses raw mouse input.
Hey man, it's Trash423 lol, finally watched your video and it helped alot! Thanks! Keep up the amazing work. I feel like you're gonna be a huge youtuber one day! Good luck!
Hi Dibz, thanks a lot for your tutorial. This helps a lot, a simple thing but most of us probably missed out the things like this, just figure out the goals but don't know the way to achieve it, but yea everything comes to practice. Honestly I don't even care before about how to use the training field, I just jump to a game and bang bang bang, and try to figure out something (and at the end I didn't realize what is wrong). Looking forward to another in depth drills method, cheers :D
Thanks +Arvin Kurniawan :) I've been thinking about doing one for Genji or McCree, but yes, you are right that it all really just comes down to practice, and setting a goal for yourself to see improvement :) Keep at it!
Whoa, this is really great! I'll definitely try it since i'm suck at using tracer. And i hope you can make more guides like this, maybe practicing with some travel shots like Genji's shuriken, Zenyatta's balls, junkrat's bomb etc. Nice guide, man!
Thank you :)! I'm glad you found it helpful!! I'll try to see if I can work on this series with the other heroes, and I'll add it to the list of videos to do!
+Dibz No prob, it's great anyway xD My only problem following thid is how little your sensitivity is compared to mine lel, so i'm using 10 instead of 6 for now (15 is my original, and my mousepad isn't large)
Yea, someone pointed it out to me that DPI is based off your screen size, so if your monitor isn't the same size as mine, the DPI will affect your sensitivity differently. I should have thought about it and mentioned it before, but I guess I didn't realize that :x
omg you have no clue how much this helped me.... Gonna try this out in a couple 1v1's! Then into real games here soon! But I went up to about 10 sensitivity, down from like 35, thanks soooo much!
+Testifiable Nice man! Glad it was able to help you out (: I started off a little high in sensitivity as well xD let me know how these drills go for ya dude!

It helps to have a list. Thank you for writing it out!
Instead of blinking the 180 degrees, try blink 182.

Its a band

this video is a year old and it's still helpful. thanks again for all the tips, Dibz!
+Obbie Anytime! Let me know if you have any questions or concerns :)
god i was in the middle of watching another one of your videos and this notification nearly gave me a heart attack :')

PS: Do you generally aim for the head or neck? I heard people say aiming for the neck is better as Tracer.
This is THE aim practice guide, this have helped me so much, indirectly with Soldier and Zarya aim too.
+Ludvid Emmoth Glad to know that it helped you out :D The aim training DOES transfer over to other tracking heroes, indeed!

I love this video
+King Red the best way to improve ;) Thank you, and keep it up! Hope you keep going hard at it!
BEST TRACER AIM GUIDE .. im a console player and this guide really helped me .
THANK YOU REALLY I HAVE BETTER AIM NOW
I remember doing this when I was silver and new to pc fps in general. Came back years later and I'm t500 this is hella nostalgic.
I'm on my third day of doing these drills, and I feel like it's already helping me! Thank you so much for making this vid!
Super happy to hear that they're helping you out :)
This is like the best, clearest and most complete guide to tracking/aiming with tracer (also applicable for other hero's).
Job well done!
you the real mvp for sharing all these helpful tips
Thank you so much mate! I really appreciate this! Because of this I went from doing gold elims and silver damage to gold damage, gold elims, gold objective kills and got me to compete like this in diamond!
Nice job man :) Keep it up!
Will do man! I aspie to one day be a pro!
Thanks so much for this. Now I know what my Tracer has been lacking.
Really nice in depth guide. I do this every day on Mcree to warm up for those juicy left clicks. It's a good habit to get into.
McCree DEFINITELY needs training like this. He's one of the hardest heroes to be accurate with in my opinion :o But yea, good habit!
This is a year old, and I just started playing, and I already have 25% tracer accuracy (first fps game) and I destroy Everyone! thanks a lot.
:D Keep it up ClashingL0rd3!!
thanks! Do you know where tracer should be positioned? I'm not sure if I should be on the objective, flanking or whatever.
ClashingL0rd3 you want to flank but you have to know when to. You cant solo whipe the enemy team on your own
This helped immensely even for console. Accuracy going from 30% to 40% more consistently. Thanks Dibz
Oh my fucking.... I've been living my entire life with mouse acceleration on. Is it really worth learning it with off?
In my opinion....it really depends on how accurate you are with your shots currently. If you are pretty good/consistent already and are super comfortable with it on....then maybe stick to it on. But honestly, I've been playing with it on my whole life, until about 2 years ago, and when I finally found out about turning it off, I've kept it off ever since. I'd say give it a shot, consistency is veryyyy important in FPS! :)
I'll give it a go. Thanks for such an elaborate response.
Anytime dude! Always happy to help :)
Edit: just realized it's a really old vid haha
I'm definitely practicing these drills, hopefully it will help my aim with mouse and keyboard. I currently play on console so controller Is what I feel comfortable with, but soon I will transition to pc and I need to adapt to mouse and keyboard. nice video BTW :)
Hey Rick! Hope this allows you to transition more easily :) Console vs. PC are really different though, but good luck :D!
Rick plays2much how's your aim now?
The fist time i've played overwatch i killed 0 to 4 per game .After a one month of practcing and using those Drills ,i can kill from 13 to 30 per game. Thank you Dibz
+00RedDragonKid that's really great to hear! It feels great to know you've improved (:
so far watched 2 videos of ur channel and learned way more than any other tips and tricks videos
rly nice videos already subscribed keep it up man ;)
Thanks dude! Appreciate the support, and I'm glad you found the videos helpful :) !!
I've never seen such a good video for improving a aim. Thanks a lot
:) I'm truthfully glad you and others are finding it so helpful!
YES DUDE! Thanks for this!
^_^ Anytime! Cheers!
+Dibz 4300th sub! Me
+mayllo222 Need a tutorial for ps4 tho
mayllo222 you could use the same concepts/training drills for the PS4! I think they'd help you out just fine, but the sensitivity part, you may have to do some research or more self-digging :x
Dibz guessing that that'll be for Xbox as well
This is literally the most useful tracer guide i have found, props to you man for making this - helps out a lot of players out there. all the others tracer "in-depth" vids claim to cover the advanced aspects of tracer and her class but are kinda useless to other experienced tracers who are willing to learn because they only covers the basics - nothing advanced or note worthy.
If you have checked it out already though, thanks :)!
th-cam.com/video/AEMUNXjLM_4/w-d-xo.html
Also, yes, I love the G602! Saw my friend using it and tried it out, and it fit my hand like a glove :D
subbed! will try these drills for sure!
+Redback Breeder Thank you :) Let me know how the drills go for ya!
Ah well.
Dibz
My in game sensitivity is 40 lol
You should really start moving with your arm as moving with your wrist so much can ca7se really bad Carole tunnel
If u can't set dpi I think the closest thing to Dibz is the 6 tick on the pointer and 7 sensitivity try workin down to that
If I learn how to aim,it's only thanks to you,I never played a fps,so this really helped
It's been 2/3 months that I play, but I never thanked you to have teach me back then, thank you dude
And If you find that you need to train more unconventionally, try Blink-182
+Allan Kant HAH. :D
My games with tracer have significantly improved with your drills. Thank you very much man.
Aww that's really great to hear Craigmeister! Keep at it dude! :)
Doesn't overwatch use raw input, where your desktop sensitivity shouldn't matter?
Yes, it actually does. This video was released way back before I was able to find any info on that, so I decided just to be safe :p it doesn't hurt though XD
Great tips, Dibz! I would like to see a more in-depth video in Tracer's blink aim because there's a few things that can save a ton of time by knowing before-hand, mainly the way blink follows your key and how to stay linear instead of blinking and going backwards like around 9:40.
what do u mean by swipe? is it from the center of the mouse pad to the edge or from edge to edge?
Miko yea I was wondering the same
i would recommend from center to edge, so you don't have to raise your mouse to reset the distance.
I'm actually stoked to run these drills before matches tomorrow :)
Cheers dude!
Good tips and advice in this video, but tbh, I had already figured most of this out for myself but I still enjoyed watching and expect it's probably going to be helpful for a lot of people.
Chronokun iamverysmart
Your guides are amazing wow . I have been playing FPS for a long time ... But your basic knowledge is just insane . Thank you and keep it up
Thank you +Valentin Stefanov ! Glad you're enjoying the guides and finding them useful!!
Still useful
Super helpful and informative. I literally started taking notes when I realized how useful this could be. Thanks for making this!
Hi, I want to inform you that mouse acceleration is off by default in game whether that option on windows is turned on or not.
Yea I've been told that actually, but if so, then no worries, right? Hahaha
Kiwoon Jo he is playing in windowed mode soo no widows controls the mouse setting
Overally great in depth video!
but do you do blink182?
+raeyo molera Secretly, yes I do. Almost every day
Lucio/support main here. Decided I need to pick up some other roles in order to get out of my rank/have more fun. Your videos are awesome man thank you very much and hope you keep at it!
Where's console? We need some love for them :/
I do have some tips, try switching the ultimate button to L1/LB so then you don't have to let go off your right analog and use LT/L2 to blink, thats all I got :)
tip for console: switch to pc
i put my ults on L3, that way wen u switch to heros with lots of skills that use up all the L / R buttons u dont get any problems
Goku Attacks people still play console?
that's what I did switched it to LT
Thank you SO much for making this. It's only been a couple of days and I've already seen improvement in my aim and overall Tracer play.
+10ee That's really awesome to hear :D Keep up the practice and training, and you can only get better :)! Glad to help!!
damn, the precision mouse enabled thing.. it was on the whole time I was playing... thank you soo much... what a difference having a consistent reticle.
This has helped so much. Just started playing the 25th when I had on average around 25% accuracy on Tracer. Now (27th) I have around 38%
Wow Dibz thanks so much for this - changing the keys blew my mind. You're totally right, this is a whole new game now..
Thanks Dibz! This is fantastic. I'm subscribing, mainly for that mouse acceleration tip. this is what i've needed all my life.
+Machine Emulator thank you for the support :) Really happy to hear that the guide was able to help you out some ^_^! Give the drills a shot, they'll help improve your accuracy!
Best tracer drill i have found yet! Please keep up these videos!!
I very appreciate the mouse sensitivity detailed explanation. Much love, bro. Keep up the good work.
Anytime! Glad the sensitivity part was useful to ya!
What a nice video ! You're a really good teacher. I started playing Tracer recently and I think those drills will help a lot ! keep up the good work
Thank you thank you :) Hope they help you out, too! Let me know how it goes! I'm always appreciative for any kind of feedback.
Just converted to pc and i came back to this cuz i remember this really helping me, still a great video man thanks.
If you are on ps4 I recommend changing your jump to L2 instead of the X button on your ps4 remote. L2 just serves as another button to blink on Tracer along with L1. This way you don't have to lift your thumb off of the Right Analog Stick in order to click the X button and jump. Tracer is one of the few characters you can do this with since her L2 doesn't do anything different than her L1.
awesome guide, seriously.
If you are interested in tracer for your main, this should help a lot
Best guide video of Tracer. Extremely helpful. Thanks!
+Z sos Thank you thank you :) Let me know how the drills go for you, and if you see any improvement!
I love that video
+Wirla Wera yep! Sensitivity is very subjective per person, so practicing till you find one that suits YOU is important! Keep it up (:
New to this game and this is really helping my accuracy as tracer. Thanks for this :)
Hey +Alex N. ! Glad you were able to find this video useful :) Let me know if you've got any questions!
Great video - so useful to see how you do it yourself. I generally have pretty good, consistent aim but find myself lacking sometimes when it comes to Tracer, due to her sheer speed and how intense it can get in battle. The drills and focus on developing muscle memory are perfect. Thanks :)
+ZHLodhi Hope the drills help you improve over time :D Let me know how it goes!
Watched your previous video and immediately thought "I would love some tips on practicing" and boom. Next video recommended was this.
+Julian G really happy to hear that they've been helping you out! Keep it up :) merry Christmas and Happy new year!
Thx bro :D
+Marcus Grip Nicely done! :D Keep up the great work, and you'll keep improving!
Ever since I started this it helped my aim a ton thanks so much I just hope I'll be able to be as good with tracer as you
That's great to hear steffen :D! With time and practice, you will :)
Dibz thanks I'm definitely subscribing I'm actually doing this drill now and it really works (:
This was brilliant. I use Shift for reload (so you can do it as you blink to always have a full clip), LMB for main, RMB for blink and always have ult on middle mouse wheel. Found id keep rewinding when trying to reload and found it to be much more fluid controls. Maybe it helps someone.
Its nice how to break down these drills and give details as to why your doing them instead of most ppl just saying ana bots and enjoy
Thanks Dibz! Been waiting for this kind of in-depth guide on aiming with Tracer :) Really helped me out!
I'm glad! Let me know what kind of results you get from practicing! I'll be glad to hear :)
Wow this helps more than I thought when I first tried it :D Now before every first game of the day I do this practice routine :) Thanks again Dibz!
^_^ You're welcome! I'm really happy it's helping you out!
I was secretly hoping you would do another tracer guide! Watching you made tracer my favorite character!
Haha I'm glad to have been able to grant your wish :) Hope this helps you out!
This is really great stuff. Very good quality, good information, nice talking etc. Well done and thanks! :)
I'd say to those who have been playing on PC (already have muscle memory), try and flick with higher and lower sensitivity to see if you need to fine adjust for better consistency. I used Mcrees to fine adjust the flick shot and it made it more consistent when switching to Tracer as well.
Very helpful. I'll try to implement some of these settings and see how it goes.
+Senpai Pegasi Thanks man (: let me know!!
this is incredible!! thank you for this thorough guide!! i'm new to fps and this is so helpful to remind me that this is a skill to practice! thanks!
Of course! I'm really glad that you found this guide useful :) Let me know your results!
You're videos are amazing!! After spending all my time on Mercy and Junkrat, hope is restored to try out Sombra! Thank you so much:)
+Katay Anne :) Thank you for the support! Glad to hear that you liked the Sombra vid, as I'm an avid flanker player myself :)
Good work! Glad to see some upcoming Overwatch youtubers!
Thank you thank you! :) Glad you enjoyed the guide!
I did this for 10-15 minutes and damn it helped. My previous best accuracy was 29% but I got up to 42% today after a few matches.
+Snakes Are People Too Wow, that's a pretty huge jump o_O Keep it up yo! That's about where I'm averaging at right now :)
My average is up to 38%, super happy to be less terrible with Tracer :)
:O That's impressive yo! Good job :) :)
Thanks for being so positive in general, it's such a nice and inviting attitude! Keep up the good work man =) thanks for the help!
These videos are fantastic and ive gotten alot better, so a big thank you from me!
Hey +Cameron Todd! Glad you were able to use the video :) Keep it up!
There are some good tips which I can use for my warmup menu as well. Epecifically changing ulti to SHIFT :) Thank you very much!
Yea, when someone mentioned it to me, my mind was blown. KABOOM :D Glad you found it helpful!
Thank you Dibz. You are such a nice human being. I really appreciate your content. It's made me into a Tracinator.
Dibz, video is great, I want to start playing more Tracer and this video will help big time Thanks for taking the time to make it.
You are a very cool person. ^^ And a good coach/teacher as well. You explain the crucial points as well as very useful details, and do it all very well.
Thanks +Cicah Marzyciel :) Appreciate the kind comment!
Good luck!
+Jaron Long haha thanks for the support dude! Really glad that you were able to find these videos useful!!
Thanks man I really love your drills for kills segments 👍
Hi Dibz, thanks a lot for your tutorial. This helps a lot, a simple thing but most of us probably missed out the things like this, just figure out the goals but don't know the way to achieve it, but yea everything comes to practice. Honestly I don't even care before about how to use the training field, I just jump to a game and bang bang bang, and try to figure out something (and at the end I didn't realize what is wrong). Looking forward to another in depth drills method, cheers :D
Thanks +Arvin Kurniawan :) I've been thinking about doing one for Genji or McCree, but yes, you are right that it all really just comes down to practice, and setting a goal for yourself to see improvement :) Keep at it!
sure, looking forward to it! Both of those 2 heroes seems good
2020 and this is still super useful. Helped my aim a ton!
+Dibz No prob, it's great anyway xD
My only problem following thid is how little your sensitivity is compared to mine lel, so i'm using 10 instead of 6 for now (15 is my original, and my mousepad isn't large)
Yea, someone pointed it out to me that DPI is based off your screen size, so if your monitor isn't the same size as mine, the DPI will affect your sensitivity differently. I should have thought about it and mentioned it before, but I guess I didn't realize that :x
LOVE this, I don't even play Tracer and these helped a bunch. With that said I'm hoping you do some of these for characters I actually play.
Maybe I will! Depends on which heroes you're talking about....Reinhardt? Winston? :D baha
omg you have no clue how much this helped me....
Turns out they went insanely well! I am now not a complete deadweight as tracer! Now to work on Widow....
LOL XD glad to hear it bro :) Let's play sometime again!
+Dibz I've offered dude! Just accept them! well, just be on more
Bahaha yea I've seen them a few times, most of the time though I'm on for very short periods and actually don't play XD I'll be on tonight though! :D
Great Video dude, just watched as a podcast while doint at myself on training session. Keep still. Take care.
oh forgot to say. Crosshair do not work for me. I use a Circle with no expansion in green.
That video is really nice I was not thinking about that use of training room that's amazing thank you so much mate now my aim are strong and straight!
"My sticking accuracy has gone up"
* misses sticky *
loooooooooool great video tho, was more helpful than I previously thought it would be!
LOL......shhhhhh That target switched directions on me! XD
