  • The Kawasaki starts right up! I installed a brand new battery which I hooked up to my trickle loader overnight. In addition I placed back the tachometer gear with a new O-ring, torqued down the valve cover, hooked up all the wiring, put in 3,5 liters of oil and 2 liters of gasoline. After letting the engine run on the starter motor a few times until the oil light switched off, I hooked up the sparkplugs and off he went. The DIY air filters are only meant to see if the engine would start. I am waiting to receive my pods so I can then make all necessary carburetor adjustments. But, I am happy it started in one go!

Skunk Darkstone modern is good too, I saw a comparison between the old kaw's and the Zephyr, bikes are so much more stable now, the older bikes dive and wobble enough to make me wonder why on earth I bought one! My 2011 250r is steady like a rock on the highway by comparison. Ride safe Skunk!

totally agree being nostalgic is all well and good but the bikes back then handled like a whale and when you got em up to a decent speed they didn't want to stop as i have found a few times he he
      Ride safe my friend

Is it blowing smoke? Looked like it's burning oil.
