Did my starter clutch, put in new clutch clutch kit.. Worked for a couple weeks.. Now it's barely moving the engine! Not sure what could have gone wrong, suspecting the secondary shaft is worn too. Maybe I can get slightly larger clutch pins, else a second hand secondary shaft. Will have to see.
Hi, good luck, I did mine leaving the motor in situ, was tricky working upside down but I reckon easier than taking out the motor as I find them so heavy! Love your videos so keep them coming, nearly finished my custom cafe kz750 p3
You can do anything on a kz750. Great videos with good comments. You rock! There is a tricky way to remove the starter clutch with out taking it out and splitting the cases.
Thanks, I think you just raised the bar for me! I am going to try the spare engine first and experience how that works out. If all goed well, I will go for it.
Nice to see you back......I'm about to dismantle a 1997 Yamaha XJ600 engine as a bearing has collapsed on the output shaft in the gearbox, and I have a spare engine, just in case
Hii, did you publish a video for installing the clutch to the engine on the bike? Iäm curious to know the procedure how to do that. Any help or links to videos are welcome.
Watching you videos and hearing your accent I assume you are dutch. Well i’m dutch too and my kz 750 gt makes exactly the same noise. Do you by any chance do repairs on bikes other than your own? This job seems a bit out of my league so I really could use some help...Groeten, Rogier
Ive got to do the same job on my 83 750 ltd. I've got a repair kit and the gaskets ready to go. I'm going to follow this video - th-cam.com/video/8Pq3Vox0wjU/w-d-xo.html but if you do a better one with all the steps filmed I'll follow yours. Apparently the shaft nut behind the clutch basket needs an air ratchet to undo it. Good luck.
Hey Ian, well we are both looking at the same diy video's! I'll do my best starting with the spare engine. If all goes well I will continue with the other. Cheers!
I made a tool for holding the basket in place using an old set of steel clutch plates welded together and then onto a long bar which touched the ground when unscrewing the nut, worked well and then I simply turned it over when tightening on reassembly !

Thanks for the info... If you watch my step 3 of the starter clutch, I used a much easier solution!
