Can I just say you two are just like my youngest she’s two weeks into motherhood and life will never be the same again, but it’s the best time of your lives xx
Man we are on such a similar journey. My first is appriaching 1 yr old now. Those first few months are brutal, but it does very gradually get easier. Finally found the time to get fit again and racing this winter. Stay strong and enjoy the rollercoaster
I'm not convinced that you've lost much fitness Giorgio. Trying to race with an illness is always a disaster. Not only does it make the illness worse, it also gets in your head and messes with your confidence. You'll be just fine Giorgio, just be patient when your sick and concentrate on getting over the illness. You will be back in the top 10 next race. 👍👊💪
The illness definitely played a part so I’m interested to see how I do in the next race. I should of taken time to recover but was to keen to race and it definitely prolonged the illness 😅
I haven’t watched the video yet but know exactly the points it’s going to cover. It’s a massive period of adjustment and needing to give and take more. I hate to say it, but your life will never be the same again! It will test your ability to adapt and become flexible to achieve your goals now. But, little tip: you’ve a new centre to your universe now. Embrace it.
Zwift completely saved my fitness after becoming a Dad. Jump on the Wattbike for a 20-30min race/workout...🥳 Forget about duration and focus on quality and consistency. What's going to be better, 20mins everyday or nothing 5 out of 7 days.
This is important. DO NOT get tricked into having a second. There will be a moment about a year in where you’ll think parenting is easy. This is false. Stay vigilant. Good luck
Been a x race all during the time I had 2 kids. Training tucked, races tucked but in the end, it all came back later as I race Masters.. Hang in there and take the time to enjoy the little things. Racing will come back soon enough..
Great to see you getting back in to things! Hopefully join you on a Wessex startline later in the year! Always find bike fitness transfers to the run better than the other way round personally!
Yep totally agree about the fitness transfer, when at my fittest on the bike running felt easy but never does anything for me when I have just been running 🤷♂️ but good to keep the conditioning ticking over
How " I don't get a minute to myself" turned into " I don't get a second to myself" 😆 Joking apart, chubby Giorgio looks good and probably is a good dad 😉
As Aiva gets a little bigger and sleeps through - you’ll all feel a bit better rested and soon get into a rhythm to have a little more consistency in the times available for running and cycling. The strength and bulk for natural lifters, often does create a bit more body fat than desirable. I’d gradually let the weight drift back down with a bit more cardio and similar gym - and let the muscle & strength drift up in time for the holiday in May .
Yep I think when we have more of a routine some consistency might come but it’s definitely hard at the moment! Yep it could be a good idea, the bulk is definitely hitting its peak for now… the scales have levelled out and although I want to gain more muscle I’m not sure I can up the cals much more 😅 but it’s definitely nice moving some heavier weights for once 👌
Sneeze…..awesome honest video. Definitely old if you’re using a shoe horn already 🤣. 80kg 💪🏻 what were you sitting at during CrossFit, guessing in the middle. You’ve always been a power to weight ratio monster! Keep it going man.
Shoe horn is a game changer 😂 CrossFit I think my max during a bulk was 78 but around 70-75… the big difference has been creatine this time, the first time I have properly used it and it makes a huge difference 😅 if I stopped I think I would drop to around 75 🤔
Well done George, managing expectations, running is an easier fix, more time efficient, you can waste half an hour getting kitted up for the bike,🙄I’m opposite to you, not as much bike this year as I’d like concentrating on running, 5k, 10k, half’s I’ve finished running season so keeping a base fitness and back on the bike a bit more then building up from November for first race February next year, some of that timber you’ve put on is in the gym and will be muscle weight, don’t assume it’s fat but that’s the trade off you need weight training to build strength but the weight goes on as well, the other thing is your season is more winter than summer with CX were most people put weight on in the winter were you’re trying to lose it It’s a new phase of your life and you’ll re-engage again
Yep I have found it far easier to get out and run… I also just don’t have the motivation to do hard efforts on the bike 😅 Seems like you have a big running season ahead, it’s definitely nicer running in the winter as well with the awful conditions! Yep I have definitely gained both muscle & fat but it’s part of the process and I’m really enjoying it 👌
God no..... no running 😂. I tried it and ended up slower. For what its worth; if I was in your situation I'd do intervals on the turbo tues and easy spins Thursday and Friday. Get a bit of walking in early week maybe. Don't do anything that'll dead the legs too much before race days. Too late to improve fitness now apart from a bit in the week and the weekend racing. Sort it out, don't disappoint the fans and your child. 😂

Working towards a top-10 CX finish sounds like a great goal...and yes, you've gotten jacked this year!
I completely get it, and will enjoy watching you and the fam get back to form!!

😂😂 noted!
Haha, so true, our second is due in the spring, only 18 months ago I was saying 'never again'
@@Doomlift one and done 👍

Would love to see you do a park run 🙏🙂
As soon as Ava can sit in the running pram I will be there 😂
How " I don't get a minute to myself" turned into " I don't get a second to myself" 😆

😂 very true!
Chubby George is a much better dad as he’s not hangry all the time 😂

Great video as always I think top 10 will be achievable in your next cx race or else dell boy will make his big comeback
😂 Delboy has told me to stop lifting weights and pull my finger out 😂

The manz gotta get on Zwift 🤣
I’m not sure I can put myself through the pain 😂

Haha, welcome to the real world of being a dad! But yeah running as a backup is awesome.. remember to fit the weights in though
you wanna watch out though, running can be pretty addictive! I tend to flip flop between thinking about doing a marathon or some crazy ride
👌 I once said I have to do a marathon before it’s to late but since running again I don’t think I have it in me 😂 I will leave the marathon for you!
Welcome to the hydration vest club. Wait until you decide you should wear it all day. 😂
😂 now that’s actually a good idea 😂
80kegs - you'll be able to out sprint me
It’s all upper body no leg training happens so probably not that useful for sprints 😂 you’ve still got me on this one
God no..... no running 😂. I tried it and ended up slower.

I have zero motivation to do any efforts and definitely not on a turbo 😂 so it’s going to have to be running, it’s definitely better than nothing 😂
80kg…. Welcome to my world 😂 you do look like you’ve but on some muscle 💪
😂 level playing field now you will probably beat me 😂
@@GiorgioCoppolaCycling having a little one is a game changer for sure. Need to get something in the diary…
