Thank you MrBaton for uploading these full and uncut videos of guard or any military events in general. It is great to be able to listen to the marches without any cuts!
Fantastic video! Great to hear the march 'Royal Stuart' been played! Since I didn't name the marches today here's a Fun Fact: Drum Major Stu Laing was a Musician in the Band of the Welsh Guards before being trained as a Drum Major, which is rather interesting as Drum Majors in the Guards come from the Corps of Drums.
It was definitely interesting when I first read something about Drum Major Laing being a musician before becoming a drum major. I guess it shows that it is possible to become a drum major in the guards without being in the Corps of Drums.
@@stevenlee_1 It is! Before I learned this I didn't know that musicians could become DMs in the Guards, I knew this applied to the rest of the Army but not the Guards. So very interesting!
It isn't possible --in The Guards---to become a Drum Major if you're a musician in a regimental band. DM Laing had to leave the Corps of Army Music and rejoin the army in the Corps of Drums of the 1st Bn Welsh Guards. He gained a reputation as a superb bugler and won the award of the Major General's Silver Bugler in 2017 before retraining as drum major.
Don't know if anyone else noticed the cardboard cut out that appeared at about 7:18 ? Guess someone couldn't make the journey so their friends took a picture of them with the band, totally random. Had to watch the section several times to figure out what happened. 🤣🤣
