I appreciate the nice comments. I need to post some new videos as I have done some changes (buddy seat & pegs for the wife, brass risers and flander bars for more comfort)

very nice piece sir. i have a 38 ul and im sorry to say that its not all stock . mostly stock parts but not all correct to the year. but as you said, very hard to come by original parts. started putting it together when i retired a few years ago. like you i have had some older bikes when i was younger. just cant get the same vibes off the newer hd"s. one thing is certain, i love my flathead. starts easy, runs great and very dependable. my duo glide was a 1960. unfortunately it is now in new zealand. also i had a 1947 knuckle, 1967 shovel, several others that i never finished. dont think ill get rid of this one ever. promised it to my son. told him he could have her when im too old to start her. hoping i can ride her on her 100th birthday. only 17 years away!

She’s a beauty! What’s it like to ride? I ride older Triumphs and Moto Guzzis Can’t beat the looks of the old Harleys and Indians!

thanks for the nice comment & question. Hard to believe but it rides super smooth. My friends shake their heads & laugh - they say watching me on the highway is weird as the springer is rocking & often see air under my rear wheel as I'm hitting bumps yet they say it looks like I'm floating over the bike. The pogo seat is amazing as it smooths out the road. You gotta plan your braking far ahead as front brake only does approx. 5% (even with new pads). You have to rely on the rear brake to stop (it works well). Acceleration is great going through the gears, 1st to 2nd is super tight (0 to 5mph) with lots of torque, you can spin the rear wheel easy as you accelerate. 2nd to 3rd goes to 30mph & 3rd to 4th it really pulls hard/fast to 55mph. My friend has a 96 Harley Ultra Classic & he can't stay with me until we are in 4th. The sweet spot for cruising is about 50 to 60mph. I going up to a 26 tooth transmission sprocket from a 24 tooth to give me a smoother ride (less vibration/lower RPM) in the 70mph range.
