- Hey everyone Rho here! Today we're discussing the Emperor of Mankind's arrival to Mars. As we ask if the Mechanicum was fooled by the Master of Mankind?
Spoiler Warning to begin as today we will be referencing events from the Horus Heresy novel "Mechanicum" by author Graham McNeill. As always I really recommend you read the stories for yourself first without spoilers! As that's the best way to enjoy the lore for yourself!

Ignoring the whole Omnisiah thing the Mechanicus refere knowledge. The fact that Big E had more knowledge and ability with their own technology than they ever did should automatically make him their leader. The whole being the avatar of their god was just to make it quick and easy
Quick, easy, and *permanent*.
Did the Emperor deceive? Are Orks green? Does Guilliman have depression? Does GW try too hard to make Chaos the end-all-be-all bad guys of their settings?
I think we all know that for all of his good intentions, the Big E was more than willing to lie and put on a show of what people wanted to see, even to the people he was working to help. It's what made building and expanding the Imperium so quickly possible, as he papered over the differences between human worlds and cultures with visions of a glorious and triumphant human empire which were vivid enough to inspire faith but vague enough that every group imagined their own vastly different endpoints. But it's also why it all fell to decay and rot so quickly without him acting as a visible and living symbol to hold things together. His treatment of the Mechanicum fits right in with that, making himself the incarnation of their god while pretending that didn't conflict with his Imperial Truth. Whether lying to them like that was right or wrong holds little meaning to him given the scope and scale of his ambitions for humanity and his need of their factories and skills.
Is muhammad a man who married a child?
This and all the Other Plots.. Like banning Religion, while allowing the mechanicus to worship him.. Being that old living with Humans He knew exactly how Things would end when He dies... Def. Rooting for Him plan ing to BE Revived as lit god
E always chooses his appearance carefully when he comes before others. It’s impossible to believe this wasn’t a deliberate performance.
E’s just all about those flashy entrances, works every time 😅
Almost every time
Didn't work for poor Angron.
The Emperor: there are no gods.....
(He looks at Mars)
......except for you people.
I think it's just as likely the Emperor had no idea trapping the dragon on Mars would lead to the mechanicum and probably did that just because it was dangerous.
Its actually more impressive if he didn't know what would happen but still adapted and exploited it then if he knew had millennia to plan and prepare yet still stuffs it up.
Just got an idea: when the Emperor slew the Dragon I bet it said something like "you may have broken my body yet my mind remains intact and unscathed and I will whisper poisons into the dreams of every soul on this planet for all time, that your technologies and mechanisms which you have killed me with will overtake you in body and soul as you have done to me. hahahahaaaa!" and Big E said "Oh fuck, okay uh, gonna stick you on another planet then cool?" and the VD went "Well fuck you then gdi"
It would make sense, he has numerous written encounters where he disguises himself. I'm still not even sure if he is a large primarch sized form or a normal human form that makes himself appear larger when dealing with super humans. Like this encounter he was obviously Big E in gold armor, but with the Last Church story he shows up to the priest as a normal size man.
Yes. But eventually shows him true self, and he’s been in the armor the whole time/
"The chair creaked and groaned more loudly than it should have done for his size"
Or something along those lines I don't have the book anymore
Surely they have cameras in 40K. If not, certainly paintings. Surely he'd look one size in photos or paintings, unless he's wasting his psychic power to make every human across the entire galaxy see the pictures and statues and paintings of him looking different according to his will. It seems absurd.
a 15-foot man shouldn't fit in a regular chair lol@@V.B.Squire
@@inthefadeWasting power? For him, it’s probably just power leakage. Bags of squishy meat don’t normally toss around god level power.
The Emperor protects
Emperor burying the Void dragon to Mars around 1200's and therefore having a fingerprint in the mechanicum's evolution kinda makes him Omnisiah even if he wrote the prophecy himself.
I feel like since he has this part on the Marsian evolution, he might have had even slight soft spot towards Mars in the context of Imperium and therefore for both political and sentimental reasons grant permission for Mechanicum to pray for the Omnisiah. Also since the tale is from the Marsian perspective just by believing on the prophecy would make you believe it's Omnisiah before you even see the Emperor and it's often mentioned how Emperor looks like the person wishes him to look, so to speak.
This is definitely true. Even the new dragon watcher said she was sick of the Emperor's manipulations.
I need to go through this book again, I do rememeber it was really good. I have listened to it 2 times, a third time won't hurt.
Imagine if the Changeling took the disguise of a Mechanicus leader and have his army open fire on the Emperor's ship
Terra and Mars would destroy each other
Chaos corrupts all the Primarchs and the rest of the Mechanicus
Magos: I'm not so sure this Emperor is our machine god Omnissiah, he's not even a machine.
Arch Magos: Does he do Omnissiah-like things better than everybody else?
Magos: Yeah, but he doesn't even like gods, nor have a single mechadendr--
Arch Magos: IS HE DOING OMNISSIAH-LIKE THINGS BETTER THAN EVERYBODY ELSE, YOURSELF INCLUDED, FUTURE SERVITOR?
Can't read this comment without hearing a dalek voice
“Oh hey, you guys still worship that C’Tan I trapped. Ummm, then call me the Ominssiah, I guess.”

Link previous videos please !!! I was in an accident and have alot of troubles using my hands. Please I'm not being lazy it would really help if I could just touch the link in the video
The emperor probably founded the mechanicum in the first place
And why would the Emperor want a Void Dragon[nonhuman] influencing the people of Mars? That makes no sense.
Koriel Zeth was awesome.
I always thought that the whole question of the Emperor makes the most sense if he always intended to become humanity's god. Naming your philosophy "The Imperial Truth" is the kind of thing you do when you know you're full of it. Banning all religions (except one), despite having witnessed humanity's ceaseless drive to find God makes no sense unless it's to try to wipe the slate clean. It makes even less sense to rule over a secular empire while doing absolutely everything you can to look as divine as possible. The real world echoes through the warp, and the constant use of ancient religious iconography, architecture, and themes had to be deliberate. It also comports well with what Chaos told Horus - they weren't really lying when they said that he aimed to become a god, just hiding all the relevant information.
He almost certainly planned the Mechanicum and the Cult of the Omnissiah a long, long time ago. He knew that worshipping a god of technology would not possibly empower chaos, and would allow him to impose dogmatic restrictions that prevented them from researching anything too dangerous. By being the Omnissiah, he would have absolute authority over Mars, and the ultimate sacrifice of his life would grant him authority over the Imperium.
Yes, he did. He seeded the prophecy and then fulfilled it.
Could the scepter be malcador’s staff? It fits the description and would proportionally be a scepter to the comparatively massive emperor. A staff in Malcador’s hand, a scepter in the emperors.
Okay, so this is a little off topic.
We the Warp is all messed up in terms of time, and there are weird temporal anomalies regularly. So is it possible that when the Emperor went into the warp before creating the primarchs, he met his modern more god-like self?
The Omnissiah is a K'tan shard.
I don’t believe that the Emperor’s words “machine, heal thyself” were imagined. Near the end of the book the new guardian/keeper of the Void Dragon uses the same words whilst using the same power (that originated from Big E) to heal an Imperial Knight in a similar fashion.
The sceptre is probably the same that Malcador carries. It's The Emperor's sceptre. Malcador carries it because he carries The Emperor's authority.
The emperor is playing 8d chess
Even if he deceived the Mechanicum, even if he did make lies to propped up the imperium, I still stand by his side and understand that the Meeting with the Mars Society isn't all rainbows and sunshine and he have to make a few dealing that would cause scandals if they were brought to light.
Bene Gesserit levels of religious manipulation
Hell yeah he manipulated the sh!t out of that moment. He need the workers and ot was eager to plan ot out then wage war and have them be disgruntled about it.
Behold the Grand Hypocrite! Playing Gods avatar to enslave the Mechanicum despite his self-proclaimed hatred for religion and faith!
Algorithm comment
Spoiler alert: The Emperor wrote the prophecy 😂
First?
Yes congratulations 🎉
Sorry to keep picking on you wolf lord. I do think you do a good job. You make a lot more you tube videos than I. Considering i have made zero... Sometimes you ask interesting questions. Sometimes you throw out some lore from beyond that is quite intriguing, that a lot of us wouldn't know. But this vid is another one that was more or less agiven and probably didnt need your attention. There isnt much ambiguity in regards to this piece of the lore. You asked all those questions in your usual sultry manner. But the simple answer is "yes". The emperor did decieve the mechanicum, he did need their resources, and he intentionally played himself off as their messiah to ensure their compliance. Again, there isnt really any ambiguity in regards to these events. I dont know why this video exists..
A pointless comment per usual.
