Great tractor, I had one back in the 70's and in fact still use that engine for an irrigation pump, easy to work on easy to rebuild. I am currently fitting a turbo on it to increase hp. clean up some black smoke and quiet it down, It is running a little rich after a new injection pump. Wanted to see what you did. I used all the parts from a 276 which was in a 2640. It all fit.
They are easy to work on for sure, I enjoyed it, So far this has been going great, I haven't touched the pump yet but the turbo is boosting well and has plenty of power. it's a grunty responsive engine. Be great to hear how your build goes, the turbo will be a good addition. All diesels should be turbo charged! 😁
I've never really been a John Deere fan, I guess I find their tractors to be very "plain Jane" style wise with a cheap looking build finish, I like their early stuff though especially the two cylinder models, my uncle had one and it had endless reliability problems, can't remember what model it was. Should be a good machine once the engine is sorted however.
Yeah the John Deere's of this era all seem like good gear and pretty good to work on. Nice power steering wet disc's brakes, way ahead of a Fergie at the time! 👌
the liners on the 2020 and 2030 had a factory recall as the farm next door had done a lot of work . .Then in the late 90's there was one that had never been done .Think the dealer at the time was Wylies Looks like your down south
Your not going to have viewers watch if you cannot stop switching from one part of the rebuild then changing your video to something completely different on a different part of this rebuild then within seconds changing again to something completely different,
Hi, thanks for the comment, I'm still learning to film/edit, just having some fun with a camera. but I can see how it might be confusing for viewers. In future videos, I'll definitely be more mindful of this, Thanks for the feedback. 👍
@@Tassietinker490 like you say your still.learning just thought I would tell you from a viewers point, If no one tries to explain then you'll never know keep improving the videos you'll be fine.🇨🇮

@@Tassietinker490 used from another farmer. Then my father used it for 40 years. It's in need of a rebuild now without a doubt

Hi, that's interesting, wonder what the recal was. Yep, we are just south of Huonville. I'm guessing Wylies was a dealer up north?
What size are the rear tires
