I know you guys are not taking any new tartan design requests which does leave me in a bit of a pickle in designing one, however, this does give me some ideas on how I could take a go at designing one myself. I am not giddy about the prospect since my creative process typically is to commission someone else with an actual creative process to do it for me lol. Wish me luck! Great content as always!
Creating Tartan is a therapeutic process for me. I have designed many many tartans. Many just for the sake of creating. I have over a dozen with no name, and, or specific use just waiting for a name and home.
I'm in the process of handwriting the technical details, for each of my original tartans, into a sketchbook so I have a hard copy. My formatting entails writing the technical details on the right facing page, and adding a rendering of the tartan on the left facing page. I'm with you on the designing for therapy thing. My future designs will, most likely, not be named. My current portfolio contains about 60, or so, original tartans. More to come.
@@johnorr8094 I have design mine and multiple tartan designers, this gives me various views of them. From a larger piece of cloth to a photo realistic view. I’ve also made sure to get the color codes for every color and listed what colors, thread count and meaning for each tartan are.
Hey fellas I really like Rocky’s Broad Street Bullies tartan design. Wondering if you have been approached by any Pro sports teams to create tartan accessories in their team colours. Seems to me that there is an untapped market in this area as I haven’t come across many tartan products you could wear as a fan. I am a Canuck and have designed a few different tartans in my home hockey team colours but can’t do anything with them due to trademark laws
