I think D.C.Dalgiesh is a National Treasure for Scotland and all the people in the world who love and value beautiful, high quality tartan woven in the time honored traditional way. As a kiltmaker, it is a joy and a privilege to hand sew kilts with their lovely tartan fabric.
    Long Live D.C.Dalgliesh !!!!

Yeah its great what they do there. I got my personal tartan woven there.
As an industrial tartan weaver myself, i know its rare to find a place so traditional. The hand knotting of new jobs for example, that is very rare.
I hope shuttle looms are always around, rapiers just cant do it right at all.
The quality of the cloth from a shuttle loom is just all round superior.
Even in any other cloth types, rugs, scarfs, ladieswear. But of course especially mens kilts. It HAS to be a shuttle loom.

At 0:22 you can see the rare Clan Wood tartan sitting on top of the pile, and at 4:17 you can see it being woven! D.C. Dalgliesh did an impeccable job weaving my tartan; I could not be happier with the results. The fabric is just so much higher in quality than the modern woven tartans.

I loved this video! I am trying to make a tartan scarf, from our last known family tartan (the "Hughes' clan pattern) on an Inkle loom. Wish me luck!

D.C. Dalgleish wove the cloth for my Arizona tartan kilt last year. The cloth and the tartan are both wonderful, and were well worth the cost and the wait. Thanks again!

Amazing. I'm hoping to get a kilt woven in my clan tartan shortly.
