    Nicely done, I can easily follow what your hands are doing now, hopefully you can do a long term conclusion on this as a lot of content creators don't really follow up on things after a span of time which is basically one of the questions on the mind of users "how will it perform later?".

    I have got my FuelX Lite here in India directly from manufacturer.
    Wasn't having proper tools so i got to a local service shop and used their tools to fit it myself. Took me about an hour to install.
    I have the standard factory fitted exhaust and air filter. After installation took a small trip of about 20KMs but wasn't able to notice any change (except lower exhaust note).
    Maybe the engine will not heat that much when i take it for a longer trip.
    Word of caution, don't expect any significant and noticable change after installung FuelX.
    However, it was good to tinker a bit with tools and a diy experience helps connecting more with bike
    Your video helped a lot in process. Thanx.

    Waiting for them to come back in stock. I have a Red Rooster and a DNA filter on my Meteor. It runs good, but it wants to ping a little at higher rpms, especially from fully closed throttle to half open. Go full to half it stops. Running 90 octane non-ethanol. It never liked anything less than premium 93 octane. Always wanted to ping. I suspect when they cranked the ethanol content up to 15% they compensated (cheapened) the anti-knock additives to reduce the octane back down to the posted pump octanes.

    Got mine today from Hitchcocks but it had an additional black wire from the FuelX control box and an eyelet on the end, contacted Hitchcocks who were unaware of this extra wire. Sent them a photo, they looked in to it and found this is a very recent modification which needs connecting to the negative (-) battery terminal. As usual Hitchcocks were most helpful in resolving this issue with their first class after sales service. 😊

    Another well executed video TN, thanks. Neat fitting as always although my first thought would have been heavy duty velcro but I love your engineering solution, ‘safe & effective”😉 I must say I was a little surprised to see you are still running the stock air filter though as I’ve read that that’s usually suggested before the exhaust but what do I know? Anyway, yesterday I took delivery of the DNA stage 1&2, Cat replacement pipe (I prefer the look of the stock exhaust) and the replacement levers all of which I’ll install after tomorrows 1st service. Also I thought it interesting you comment about the gearing, you’re not the first. Please do follow up your findings on these mods and how you think the bike runs and performs compared to stock; I’m a tad concerned it may run lean but I guess a spark plug inspection will tell all. Lastly, Hitchcocks claim less or no jerkiness in throttle response, can’t say mine has any, did yours?

    • @tigerness5555
      @tigerness5555  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Simon, great to hear that you enjoyed my video 🏍👍
      I’ve used K&N filters in the past and found cleaning and oiling them a bit of a pain. I’m considering just fitting the DNA cover as that would be less restrictive for air flow into the engine. That said my bike is running well as it is.
      The reason I fitted the FuelX was to ensure the fuel air mixture was correct. I’ve had the spark plug out a few times since fitting and it’s colour is perfect so I’m confident that it’s doing it’s job.

    • @simonwalker7957
      @simonwalker7957 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tigerness5555 It’s good to hear that all is well for you. Reading the instruction for the DNA it appears to be a doddle to clean. I reckon it’s because it’s not a foam filter. I’ll consider the Fuel-X later on as it’s always better to try one mod at a time for both effectiveness and in case there are issues.

      I’ve been looking at the DNA and was thinking about just fitting the cover. Having used K&N filters in the past I find cleaning and oiling them a bit of a pain. The bike is quite noisy now and would be more so with more induction noise. On the fence at the moment.

    Apparently these bikes have a rev limitation built into the control unit, primarily for the Indian market because of tax reasons, bizarrely the same unit is used on the European export models hence the dismal top speed. I'm led to believe that in I think it was Brazil, they have removed this restriction due to something to do with their fuel and this has improved the bikes top speed to approx 85mph. Wonder if similar could be done over here ?🙄

    Change to a dna air filter and installed the fuel x module now I have a constant engine trouble light on

    • @tigerness5555
      @tigerness5555  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Fitting the DNA and FuelX should not cause a fault light to come on.
      Possible causes could be:
      1 - A faulty FuelX or FuelX wiring harness.
      2 - One of the FuelX connections isn’t fully connected. This would tell the ECU that there was a fault with the Lamba sensor in the exhaust pipe.
      You need to use an OBD reader to diagnose the fault code and also reset the ECU.
      Check out this video for more info. Hope this helps.

      @@tigerness5555After watching several of you videos I do trust your judgement so I would like your opinion if possible, please!
      Making the change for a DNA filter and taking the cat out just leaving the original muffler (without the cat) if the FuelX is needed?
      As you sold yours I assume you think it is not, but watching other videos they show that the richer gas mixture that the FuelX gives makes the bike work in lower temperature what is a good thing.

      It’s a great wee bike, I’m not surprised that you’re loving it. Some great mods you’re doing to your bike. Potentially these mods could cause warranty issues hear in the UK, I don’t know how the system works in the USA.

      It adjusts the air/fuel ratio a little richer so the engine runs cooler. This is more important if you also install a more open exhaust and air filter because that can cause a lean condition which wears out the motor.

      @@nsdhanoa having just received my D-cat pipe and DNA your comments concerned me so I’ve just spoken to Hitchcocks and asked if that is the case; they said actually the opposite is true, it’s more likely to run a tad richer as the ECU will compensate for the extra air within the operational envelope. They said, sure, fit Fuel X for added performance but it’s not there to correct an issue. They concluded by saying the obvious, take it out for a decent run and check the plug colour.
