Since the 2018-19 season Atlantic division teams have won 4 of 6 president's trophies, have the 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th most points over that span, and have 7 stanley cup final appearances (only reason that is possible is due to the candian division year where 2 Atlantic teams made it). The path to relevance is difficult when 4 of the best 6 teams in the league are standing in your way.
The only people talking about Sid leaving are hockey media people outside of Pittsburgh. Nobody close to the situation (GM, organization, Sid, teammates) have stated over and over he deserves to play his whole career in Pittsburgh.

I look at Slafkovsky's contract like Draisaitl first contract, seems expensive but has potential to out perform that contract for a long time.
