- Tensions between China and the Philippines reached boiling point at the ASEAN Summit in Laos.
The President of the Philippines Ferdinand Marcos Jr reportedly accused Beijing of harassment and intimidation.
Mr Marcos urged Southeast Asian leaders to speed up negotiations on a code of conduct for the South China Sea.
Philippines Secretary of National Defence Gilberto C Teodoro Jr joined Sky News host Erin Molan to discuss the matter.

China always say they have indisputable souverignity in south China although its already part of neighbors territory.Means they claimed this without regarding others.Flexing muscles with other claimants is a provocative action and unlawful.
Law does not mean a thing.
The stronger you are, the MORE you have. The weaker you are, the LESS you have.

It is not. Centuries old historical borders has no basis within the UNCLOS or international laws that China or the CCP themselves signed to be a part of. The most accurate analogy for this is like Italy claiming the Mediterranean sea based around Roman Empire maps. All of Europe, Middle east, and North Africa would've been against this but the same thing is happening with China in SCS, but the difference is China has the military might and numbers to actually enforce it combined with the fact that the world is too dependent on them economically so there's so much hesitance.
The EEZ are areas that had been agreed upon by many countries and China is one of the signatories of that and even they used it in their own areas. It is still valid because China is still using that EEZ in their own coastal areas
