You did that brilliantly. Thank you for this tutorial. People who can't sew often have no idea of the amount of work and ingenuity which is involved in making an alteration. You made it look so easy. A BIG WELL DONE.

Hello ! Recently a had to add 6 inches to the waist of three different pants (jeans) I watch your video on that type of alterations and I finally made a wonderful job, my client was very happy and said that I am very good at sewing, but I think that I have to give you the credit for that nice job because I made exactly what you had teach us. Thank you very much! 💛💛💛

This is so helpful! Thank you so much! I always learn so much from you. Your customers are so lucky to have you because I have a lot of people tell me they make calls to local tailors and they can't even guarantee they can do their requests, which I find super odd. But, that means then they come to me and I can make extra money and fine tune my skills. You are helping me to get more confident with tailoring, which I am grateful for. But people do not realize there is a major difference between designing and sewing garments, then to actually taking apart and trying to make fitting adjustments after the fact. Big difference!

Awww thank you so much, I’m so glad to help! One’s (wo)man’s loss is another’s treasure! 😁 Yes there is a big difference and there is a lot of overall knowledge needed to be able to merge the two. Should be more appreciated!

Oh my wasn't the customer lucky to have such a great seamstress doing her alterations. I love when you said, "just a little, 3 &1/2 inches." Was the interfacing you used on the darts a tricot or a non stretch interfacing? The knowledge and talent you possess are amazing.

It's AMAZING to see you make magic🎉❤ like you do! I don't sew much now. I learned to sew very very basic stuff in middle school & I'm in my 50's now 😅😊. At this time in my life I'm finding that most of my pants & jeans need alternations. I guess my body measurements are 😢. I'm so glad I found your channel it has helped to inspire me. Although I haven't actually done any of the work yet I am more confident that I can do the work as you have shown me how to make it happen. I really want my clothes to fit me properly. I know I will feel better & look better if they fit better. Thank you so much for sharing. You were born to do what you do & to teach 🎉❤😊

Thank you so much Tam! The bias in the original waistband had to be cut, therefore, I had unfinished edges. So I had to take in a little in the waistband, and I took that difference from the piece I added. I didn’t mention it in the video because I felt that it distracted from the real purpose of the job as this was a not-so-common case.

I'm not sure if you have done a video on how to take in.... I don't know what you call them but I have a few pairs of pants that are too big in the butt & hips but they don't have side seems. They have a double stitched seem going down the middle of the pant. I'm a bit intimidated to try making the alternation & would like to see you do a video on this for guidance. The spring is almost here & I've got my work ✂️ cut out for me 😂😅 Thanks again!

So some manufactures have some holes at the end of the darts. Check the dart first to be sure the hole can be covered. Then continue to let out if possible.FYI

True! You need to find an economical interfacing supplier. The cheapest I've found in North America is Cleaner's Supply. But I get it cheaper in my original country and my friends buy for me by the 20 meters which helps a lot. I also keep every small pieces as I can use them later for small projects. I hope this helps 🙂

How the heck does the rest of the pair of pants still fit the person's body, (hips and thighs)? When their belly had increased so much in size that you had to add 3-1/2 inches to the waist? That is at least 2 sizes difference by my calculation.
