TrappedInDristrict12 go for it man! You can do anything set your mind to! God willing he’ll get you through if you surrender the outcome to him! It’s really hard but very rewarding as you go!
That is very true, but no unfortunately I did not. If you're DA select you will continue to get sent there until you graduate and when you do, its with a marginal 1059 which will follow you for the rest of your Army career. This is all explained within the first 72 hours for those that want to "Fail on purpose".
When I did my Army basic back in 1993 it was 8 weeks, I see Army basic is 10 weeks now, what did the Army add to basic with the extra 2 weeks of training?
In-Processing adds a little extra now. When I went through it was only three days now its about a full week. Also, they have made it 10 weeks to allow for everyone to complete each training event. Some companies are 260.
It was 8 weeks with 2 weeks of reception battalion when I did basic at FLWD in Aug. 1993. We were the last cycle with the M16A1 full auto and the last all male cycle for them. Good times.
Wow! you’re going places, tbh you’re inspiring me so much, might shoot for becoming a drill sgt
