    The warmer the weather is, the easier it is to peel / scrape the old sealant off

      I need to do this and its been consistently 90 - 96 down here in Alabama so the heat won't be a problem, it my body melting onto the roof of the RV is what is worrying me. 🥵

    For others laying cable on the roof, don't use screw down cable holds. Simply use non-leveling sealant to hold cables. This way you're not putting more holes in the roof. Otherwise, great work.

      Good tip, but I like things tight. So I put sealant down then screwed the tie downs and then I put more sealant on. I don't mind screws downs.

    Dave at some time you may want to replace the white straps with the black uv resistant straps. Good video good job thanks for sharing

      I was thinking that. I need to get to Lowes, they have some wider black one's. Thanks for the info and for watching.

    Hey Dave and Shirley! Great installation! Omnidirectional antennas, imo, are always best...I’ve had the ones where you had to point the antenna in a certain direction and to me that was just a real pain in the behind. I was surprised when I noticed you had no solar panels on the roof! Of course this is an older video and I don’t know if you’ve mounted any since this video or not. I always enjoy your DIY videos very much! Stay safe and God Bless!

      Thanks, glad you liked it. It takes the hassle out of scanning for tv channels. But it is not that sensitive so you have to be within about 45 miles of the station to pick it up. Your right no solar yet. I did put some on the truck camper. Kind of a test. It worked out real good. I am taking one 100 watt panel west with us to give a little charge for the refer and see how it goes. May put some up top next summer. Thanks again for coming along. Always enjoy your comments. Take care and stay safe.

    Thanks for sharing. My understanding is the Winegard 360 + includes cell boost and wifi in the same dome antenna. The only addition is the router to be installed inside the RV under the dome.

    • @DownTheRoadWeGo

      Yes you can get it that way, but we just bought it with the tv module. I have my own wifi long range antenna - AP . Thank for watching and coming along.

    We have this unit on our new FUZION. I do not like it because it doesn’t bring in the tv channels very good. We live about 40 miles from major broadcasting stations and its pixelated from time to time.
    I also noticed that the am antenna ain’t worth a darn either.

    • @DownTheRoadWeGo

    Title is misleading, focus was more on installing a field expedient boosted tv antennae. I t was informative though.

    How is it holding up? Seen a ton of bad reviews.

    • @DownTheRoadWeGo
      @DownTheRoadWeGo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We have not had any real problem with it. The range is not as far as I thought. If the stations are more then about 40 miles away it does pixelate a lot. What I like us a lot of the time your stations are all over the place. This will pick up all the stations in 360 degrees. So you don't have to move the antenna.

  • @rickl6697
    @rickl6697 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Does the 360+ antenna pick up a lot more than the original bat wing antenna.

    • @DownTheRoadWeGo
      @DownTheRoadWeGo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yu bet. If you have two different stations, one in the east and one in the west it receives both. The batwing will only pick up one then you will have to turn it.

    Nice work Dave. Good idea for the WiFi antenna. I think I need to replace my tv in my rig. It seems the antenna wire pulled out where it connects to the back of tv. It’s barely a year old.

      @DownTheRoadWeGo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, Shirley has a couple of good ideas once and awhile 😀. That is not good. The cable pulled out of the tv? Wow I have not seen that before. Thanks for watching and coming a long.

  • @KJRitch
    @KJRitch 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How did. You route the cable from under the 360. The instructions show the cable must be routed under the 360 into a hole. Did you drill a hole in the side then install a cable gland?

    • @DownTheRoadWeGo
      @DownTheRoadWeGo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just cut a notch in the bottom of lip and I rapped butial tape around the cable. After screwing the housing down I put self leveling dicore all around the housing. I then ran the cable across the roof and in the old hole. Screwed the cable down with plastic wire holders and put on some self leveling dicore on every one of the hold downs. Hope that helps.

    Does this boost you internet signal just wondering how it works I have one on my camper but not sure much about it like if I don’t have internet on my phone am I going to have internet with that?

    • @DownTheRoadWeGo
      @DownTheRoadWeGo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not this model. It just lets you connect to all tv stations within range without having to move it. There is a model that also has wifi, but this one does not. Thanks for the comment.

    I have this on my camper roof but when connected to my Westinghouse tv it won’t accept the channel scan and keeps asking for one. Do I need a control box between the wall connection and the tv? If so what kind? Thanks

    • @DownTheRoadWeGo
      @DownTheRoadWeGo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it needs to be powered. Does your camper have a wall mounded connection for your tv with a little button you can push that turns on 12 volt power to the antenna? If not then that is what you need. Sounds like it is no being powered. Hope that helps.

    What percentage of RV parks that you stayed in provided WiFi that you could use? I purchased a Wifi Ranger and found that I rarely use it. I am 100% cellular based now.

    • @DownTheRoadWeGo
      @DownTheRoadWeGo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure but pretty low. Most parks have pretty bad wifi. The wifi I am using on the antenna pole is a long range wifi ap. I use the same one at home to get wifi and the tower I get it from is a mile away. . I am looking at going outside the tv park, like McDonald's or any other open wifi. You can pick the wifi you want and lock into it. It works pretty well. We also use cell data when needed. Looking into Weboost for that. Thanks for coming along.

    Hello there! Great Video! I just purchased an Air 360 and plan to install it. Just a quick question though. My Batwing on my Coach is not centered on the roof. The instructions say to center the new antenna in the middle of the coach. I was planning on using my existing batwing hole which is off-center like yours. Any issues doing it that way? Sure would like to not have to punch a new hole in my roof. Thanks again!

    • @DownTheRoadWeGo
      @DownTheRoadWeGo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I kept my batwing and used it as a wifi access point, so put the 360 in the middle of the roof and ran the cable over to the batwing and went down with the wifi cable. Hope that helps.

    I have a crank up antenna that you have to rotate problem is it leaks through antenna when you have it up in the rain. Thinking of replacing with this one

    • @DownTheRoadWeGo
      @DownTheRoadWeGo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The best thing about it is scanning once and you don’t have to crank it up or aim it.
