Yes sometimes they do, wait until it has cooled then clean them out, make sure it is all cleaned before using again, we had so many questions from readers so decided to show them what it is like, if you listen to the video you can hear the air fryer noise change after the popping, this is where some have got into the element and fan, not for the faint of heart 🙂
Hi Wendy, the problem I see with that is the popcorn needs to get hot to pop and the foil will reflect most of the heat, so no popping and also the foil could get sucked up to the element and stay where the guard is as the fan creates a suction as we found this out when doing cheese slices on toast a few years ago they end up flying around the air fryer and melting somewhere you don’t want them to 😂

@@patriciastamenova9269 Yes they do, this is why we recommend only experience users do this recipe, it is not easy to do, like some would have you believe and can damage your air fryer, on our post and video we show you what it looks like afterwards 🙂
Hi Matthew, We would not because the heat comes from the top mostly and the aluminium foil would just reflect the heat and the popcorn would take ages and it might not actually pop at all, as it needs extreme heat to cook properly :)
mine is currently in an oven bag and in the air fryer cant hear anything yet though lol came on to look after I put it in to see if it can be done
It should come with a grid cover for popcorn.
I was thinking of the same thing
Pop corn grid box for air fryer a business idea 💡
Thanks for sharing the video but I think I will try using some other way to pop them or something else.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us ❤
What kind of air fryer do you have? I need to get one of those baskets for mine!
Hi, For this recipe we used the Philips XL air fryer, but we have about 5 different ones :)
I was going to use my air fryer then I showed the mess you made ... :) thank you for sharing lol
Lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You can buy a cover for flying food if you have Phillips 🙃
@@veronikapop8161 "flying food" 🤣🤣🤣

Doesn't the popped kernels get stuck in the element?

Mine comes with the nonstick shelf, I placed that slightly raised above the popcorn from it going everywhere
I was wondering if it could be covered some sort of way
Video should be titled why not to make popcorn in airfryer 😂
Can you put alfoil over the basket to stop it popping to the element
Hi Wendy, the problem I see with that is the popcorn needs to get hot to pop and the foil will reflect most of the heat, so no popping and also the foil could get sucked up to the element and stay where the guard is as the fan creates a suction as we found this out when doing cheese slices on toast a few years ago they end up flying around the air fryer and melting somewhere you don’t want them to 😂
I was thinking about doing this but if I still have to use oil than why bother?
I would be more concerned with the damage to the air fryer.
Thanks for the recipe. Will give this ago.
Thank you for telling us that we should not make pop corn in Air fryer.😅
There's a cover from Phillips made specifically for light flying food 🙃🙃🙃 not cheap though...
None of the Philips accessories are cheap but generally they do last some time
You sound just like I did and everybody else did in the area of England where I lived the longest. :-)
Where did you live?

Popcorn didnot pooping
Why ??
3 minutes in the microwave no mess
What air fryer do you use?
Hi We use the Philips Air fryer XL most of the time and are using the Cosori 5.8 quart/5.5l air fryer at the moment :)
@@Recipethis don't they stick in the fan and get burned?

Mine took so long to pop the temperature was in 400f for 5 mins. Eventually I increase the timer for another 5 mins... Waiting to pop.
Hi it should not take that long to pop :)
My basket has big holes🥺 how to do
Add a layer of foil and put the popcorn on the foil.
Why would you not put the cornels in a tin and cover it with aluminum foil?

@@rid9 we have tried a few but the air doesn’t circulate enough so you end up with 20% popping.
I wanted to make popcorn in my air-fryer 🤔, but after seeing this mess 🤨 i decided, nah don't wanna have to clean that up.😜

Exactly
NO! DO NOT PUT THE BUTTER IN WHILE POPPING! IT BURNS! TRIED IT.
Foil. That would have solved your problem.
Done that then it doesn't pop
My air fryer comes with a rotisserie basket, anyone try it in that?
It was disaster for me
It can be for some people, as long as your air fryer is still working 🙂
