Wow, what a beautiful campground! I had no idea Douthat State Park had so much to offer. The Whispering Pines and White Oak areas look like the perfect spot for a peaceful camping trip, and the Beaver Dam and Equestrian areas are great for those who want to bring their horses or ATVs. The Lakeside area is also stunning, I can't wait to plan a trip there and enjoy the views of the lake. Thanks for sharing this tour, it's given me some great inspiration for my next camping adventure!
The camp grounds in your State Parks are so spacious and many so beautifully located. Impressive facilities too. We have sometimes stayed in cabins in some of the parks. First time we came to the States we did carry a small tent in our luggage but never actually used it. My perceived threat from snakes and bears meant we found budget motels instead. We do love the cabins though in such amazing places. As you were out of season it all looked so peaceful and calm. These sites are so different to the much more crowded sites in the UK.
Hi, yes the state of Virginia has some of the best state parks in the country , so far that we have experienced. I think even in season with the crowds, they have it set up for privacy and space at campsites as well as the cabin areas. We truly understand the snake and bear fear....have experienced both . I always have to remember we are in their home when I am out in the woods!

Nice amenities and heating is a bonus! Great camp ground and great facilities. Pretty area to explore. Not so overcrowded either. Lots of room and not on each others face. Thank you for the tour.

That's an awesome campground and the sites look spacious and beautiful ❤️ I'm impressed with the store it looks almost as large as some national park stores. Beautiful fall colors too. Nice bathrooms
