Little do most people know that the solo of "Stairway to Heaven" was actually originally recorded by Jimmy Page using his Telecaster. It was only during live performances where he used other guitars. As the saying goes, "Nothing has sold more Les Pauls than Jimmy Page's Telecaster."
The ES 335 sounded surprisingly good in classic metal.
All guitars are superb but the PRS nailed it due to its versatility 💯

Pwede gawing Floating Pero Special ang Tremolo Bridge ni PRS na di tinulad sa Stratocaster, kht pa sa 1987 Produced 2 Point System ng Strat. PRS's Tremolo Bridge is still Superb, Even Compared to Ernie Ball Majesty for John Petrucci.

I own an Ibanez Jem, and it does really well for what it's made for, but the PRS sounds nice in every genre, it is very versatile.

My personal takes: Always has been a les Paul fan, Tele as a second choice.
But… that PRS really ticks all the boxes for me as a desert island guitar.
The RG came in as a one trick metal guitar pony but held its own against the others in terms of versatility.

The highlight for me is the stairway to heaven solo using the telecaster. Napaka-iconic na tunog and great playing on your side.
... lovely comparison vid, Pax. Agree ako sa choice mo with PRS. In my case, malayo pa ako sa skill and versatility sa guitars (bassist kasi ako firstly) pero you opened my eyes in investing on a PRS in my learning journey. Kasi at least I could have one guitar to try most tones (and technique) unique to most genres. Siguro down the road, kung masettle na yung "genre + tone" ko overall, I might get another one to complement that specifically. Better yet, hold on to the PRS and my money. 😁 Salamat!
Halimaw ka talaga Pax. Ikaw na talaga ang pinaka (dugtungan mo na lang ng kahit anong adjective tungkol sa pagkagitarista.) To be honest, wala talaga akong nakasalubong na gitarista, virtual or otherwise na kasing galing at kasing talino mo. Sana ma-meet kita one day, para jamming tayo!

galing! iba-iba talaga tunog each guitar kala ko dati walang factor sa tunog ang porma pero meron pala talaga yung LP warm pala talaga yung tunog halos lahat magaganda dpende sa style at gusto mo talaga gawin tunog, gandang benchmark nito. .

11:53 naging Tele yung Jazz hahahah labyu pax! all in all, talagang nasa preference parin ng player kung ano sa tingin nya yung babagay sa tinutugtog nya. For me nag-standout talaga sakin yung Strat, PRS, and Jazzmas. medjo nagustuhan ko rin tonality ng ES-335. Pero for someone like me na wala pang sariling gitara, this video helped a lot kung ano talaga yung pipiliin ko for me (and yung kasunod na bibilhin HAHAHAHA) More power po lodi and more shanghai!

Sa Classic Rock, the tone was secretly tweaked to fit both Tele and LP, kasi Stairway was said to be recorded with a Tele.

I think the PRS has a pretty good gob in all of the genres, and the Ibanez is by far the best for hard rock styles. Jazzmaster is the king for surf but that's because we are influenced by surf music being recorded all with jazz masters.

Sa original cut nito, sobrang praised ko yung Jazzmaster! 🥲 altho may isang mechanical problem siya, bridge issue. The strings get derailed upon impact.

I adore the Les Paul but the Stratocaster, PRS and RG are versatile
Naka eye (or ears haha) talaga ako sa Jazzmaster kasi yun lang ang meron ako. Nag stand out talaga siya sa Jazz at Punk, hindi rin naman nag pahuli pag clean yung tone or with distortion na dahil may pagka-warm yung tunog niya. Sana mag ka Strat ako dahil sa versatility niya and being the most iconic guitar shape o kaya Tele dahil na rin sa versatility at simplicity. Thanks for the good comparison PAX 🔥

I think pickups din ang may pinaka malaking impluwensya sa tones. If papakinggan nyo po yung mga guitars na with single coils medyo bright yung mga tunog nila at yung may mga humbuckers naman, medyo close yung tones nila kung overdriven naman.

Yung ES 335, di lang yung design ang old school pati na yung mismong tone, very deep and warm. Classic!

Ganda talaga Les Paul sa Rock at Strat sa di masyadong mabigat, sarap din esolo sa strat kasi may kagat talaga ang bend. 💯❤️

Saktong sakto, plano kong bumili ng next guitar ko at grabe laking tulong ( or nagpagulo lalo ng isip ko haha ) nitong video para mahanap ko yung tone na hanap ko at hopefully pati identity tone na fit para sa playing style ko. I'm a fan since day one sir Pax. More power! 🔥

Humbucker vs single coils lang 'yan. Tapos pickup height and position. As Glenn Fricker have demoed. Just get a humbucker and a single coil guitar, tig-isa. You have everything covered. Exception ang ES-335, kasi may acoustic realm na 'to, semi-hollow and hollow are different from solid bodies.
I thought pinaka versatile sa lahat ng genre based sa video mo ay yung Ibanez, then Strat. I was rooting for the PRS pero mas panalo sa tenga ko yun mga nauna kong nabanggit. Nagulat ako sa Ibanez. Yun Strat naman expected ko na versatile siya. Anyway, this is just me. Thank you for doing this, PAX.

Uy Pax, if you use the rhythm circuit on a Jazzmaster, hindi na yan neck + bridge. The rhythm section is neck only, pero running through a 50k pot instead of 1meg kaya darker.
+1 for Strat for iconic clean sound of the neck pickup plus quack tones of the 2nd and 4th positions. -1 for ugly sounding bridge pickup and pickup selector switch placed too near the strings (thus getting hit while strumming)
+1 for Tele for sheer simplicity, twang, and capability to pull off both clean and distorted tones (does distortion much better than the strat). -1 for being uncomfortable to play from the lack of contours.
+1 for Les Paul for the iconic beefy hard rock sound popularized by Guns'n'Roses. -1 for being extremely heavy and uncomfortable to play and fat neck.
+1 for Ibanez Jem for being comfy for shredding and having a Floyd Rose with locking tuners. -1000 points for the headache of a Floyd Rose.

Para sa akin Favorite ko lahat yang mga Gitara na yan pero ang Number 1 na Guitar na nagagandahan sa akin ay ang Les Paul, kasi sa Tunog palang ng Bridge Pick Up Solid na, kaya talaga ako nag Les Paul pero kung Top 3 Les Paul, Stratocaster at Telecaster ang gusto ko pero lahat yan ay Dream Guitar ko, God Bless Kuya Pax😊☝️🎸💕

That Fender strat in a Randy Rhodes' Crazy Train, caught me by surprise. Para saken, bumagay bigla tone nung strat sa song na yun or nagustuhan ko lang yung bagong tone para sa ganung genre.

Strat for me. Upgrade the bridge into humbucker is enough for me.
Same tayo pre. an HSS strat na may split coil for the humbucker will do everything for me. Kaso ang ginamit ni Pax dito is SSS so medyo unfair i-compare with the humbucker fitted guitars. but to each to his own i guess
