I don't think Jacqui is the problem. I think Jacqui is the solution. She should be the goal for underperforming characters to aim for when they do balancing. She is one of the most fun characters to look at in the game.

Jacqui is one of my go-tos on the couch for sure. There is something satisfying about her animations and the force behind her hits. Online with her is kind of a mess, but I feel like saying that is redundant when talking about NRS games these days.

Each character has their strengths and their weaknesses. With Jacqui, I believe she may be the only pure rushdown character in the game. She's going to struggle with pretty much every character that can throw a projectile (yes, she has a projectile in her 2nd variation, but it doesn't travel full screen like the others, and can easily be outzoned if it came down to a projectile slugfest). The zoning is hands down her weakness, but to make up for that, she has very good pressure. Each character has their annoying traits...Jacqui with her pressure, Johnny, Sonya, and Jade with their projectiles, Geras with his easy high damage output, Erron with that drop kick, etc. While these characters appear to be OP in certain areas, just know that they're lacking SOMEWHERE, and that they can be defeated just as easy...except for Kotal...he seriously needs help! LOL!

People say it’s fun to see this variation... wait a month or two and when she’s still meta & winning people will say otherwise. The counter pick is probably zoning, and that will be fun to watch how people will react to a zoning meta. She needs a nerf in this variation 💀
only counterpick-player combination I can think of is Sonic's Raijin. His air grab covers most of the stage's airspace. The only problem is this: if sonic uses Raijin against an upgraded jacqui in tourney (think Deoxys), the jacqui player could change character if they lose and sonic will be stuck with Raijin for at least the next match. He is Sonicfox after all but thinking he can beat top 10 pros with just Raijin would be insult to the other pros.
Her counter is actually D'Vorah or Jade at the moment. D'Vorah completely counters her air-game and Jade can go purple to avoid it as well. We shall see how the meta evolves over time :)
I've seen people commenting this in other places, but just matches what I think. She is not easy to use, and she does not have ANY projectiles. It is different from the other characters/variations, people need to learn to play the game and adapt, if something seems hard for them, they start complaining and want them nerfed. I've seen someone suggesting the bionic dash to cost defensive meter. Again, if that happens, she should have a proyectile! All who complain should try to user he online.

Everyone that complains about Jacqui are just people that didn't play her from the very beginning. It's not jacqui you hate, it's Upgraded Jacqui because everyone just wants to play the same variation when new stuff gets discovered. Just like Outtake Johnny Cage
It takes a lot of time and precision to use upgraded Jacqui especially if somebody knows the matchup. She shouldn't be nerfed at all. People will cry enough that it will problem happen though.
That may be true, but there's an argument to be made that the time and precision investment isn't that convincing if a character becomes too ubiquitous in a tournament setting, since any competitive tournament player is likely already going to make that investment regardless of character. Like Underdawg said, subtle nerfs can be the answer without crippling the utility of the variation.

Tbh everyone else just needs a speed buff or frames dropped from their attacks and walking speed should increase a bit. Jacquie is fast but I wouldn't be mad about it if my main was fast too. Her whole moveset has like a max of 5 frames per attack. Its absurd. Fighting her feels like its artificially difficult because shes just faster than everyone else and even recovers fast.

I think they should make her jump cost 1 bar of defense meter and make her f3 and its follow up strings more minus on block like -4 or -5. Currently her pressure and her jumps are impossible to deal with online.

I am a Jacqui day one main and let me tell ya, GETTING IN AGAINST ZONERS LIKE SONYA AND JADE was insane. I used to lose to zoners all the time because man, its not workable. Try playing against Joker with 1st Round KO or Next Gen, it's ridiculous. Every single character has a decent projectile except Jacqui, hence her Upgraded version. Rightly named. IS SHE BALANCED? YES. I think she is because you can punish once you lab her. YOU LAB JACQUI BY MAINING HER. She is also balanced in that she has a very steep learning curve, and is very easy to punish when used by non pros. That's why we don't see her in the KL. I personally think Noob is her worst matchup. Another unique thing about Jacqui as a character is that NO TWO JACQUI PLAYERS ARE ALIKE. She is that flexible in moves and combos. Best character in the game in my biased opinion, especially now that she has an answer to zoners of the Brainded variety.

Noob MK player here. Only reached Grandmaster last KL season. Love your videos man but have trouble understanding some of the lingo and get lost when you go fast. Jacqui say one here. No it shouldn't be touched. I use Next Gen for KL and was excited for this variation but man is it execution heavy. If a Jacqui can do that whole combo with the dragon punches then yes they earn the hard work. Unlike Liu and Jax who just get to use their ridiculous strings. Hell I can't even do the dragon punch she just always does the standing upper when I try.
I don’t see nrs doing anything about this anytime soon so my advice is to get familiar with jacqui’s moveset. Also v1 sindel is a good counter against her
How about making the jump landing more punishable and give it a different Animation for it to make sense or give the jump a Cooldown that can be seen at the bottom corner of the screen and cost no bar. I don't think they should nerf her pressure

In a game with the meta mainly being based on mid, or throw. Arguably, those should be as universal as d2 or wake up options. It's a mechanic and feature based on how the core of the game is. I am a Jacqui day one main and let me tell ya, GETTING IN AGAINST ZONERS LIKE SONYA AND JADE was insane. I used to lose to zoners all the time because man, its not workable. Try playing against Joker with 1st Round KO or Next Gen, it's ridiculous. Every single character has a decent projectile except Jacqui, hence her Upgraded version. Rightly named. IS SHE BALANCED? YES. I think she is because you can punish once you lab her. YOU LAB JACQUI BY MAINING HER. She is also balanced in that she has a very steep learning curve, and is very easy to punish when used by non pros. That's why we don't see her in the KL. I personally think Noob is her worst matchup. Another unique thing about Jacqui as a character is that NO TWO JACQUI PLAYERS ARE ALIKE. She is that flexible in moves and combos. Best character in the game in my biased opinion, especially now that she has an answer to zoners of the Brainded variety.

Noob MK player here. Only reached Grandmaster last KL season. Love your videos man but have trouble understanding some of the lingo and get lost when you go fast. Any suggestion videos or channels for beginners to MK11? Also, (have to ask) what does true underdog mean? Thanks for the videos. Jacqui say one here. No it shouldn't be touched. I use Next Gen for KL and was excited for this variation but man is it execution heavy. If a Jacqui can do that whole combo with the dragon punches then yes they earn the hard work. Unlike Liu and Jax who just get to use their ridiculous strings. Hell I can't even do the dragon punch she just always does the standing upper when I try.

How about making the jump landing more punishable and give it a different Animation for it to make sense or give the jump a Cooldown that can be seen at the bottom corner of the screen and cost no bar. I don't think they should nerf her pressure

What's interesting is and correct me if I'm wrong but...Jackie always been what she was since launch .lol people had their woes with her for that long. My thing is. In a game with the meta mainly being based on mid, or throw. Arguably, those should be as universal as d2 or wake up options. It's a mechanic and feature based on how the core of the game is. So what happens when Jackie 9f mid goes up with anyone who mid is more? Why is it this way. How do u compensate a character who isn't a part of the meta. What meta are they if they ain't doin that? The winners and top tiers got theirs.

Upgraded Jacqui did not exist in the game until 6 months after it released. Variation 3 was a later addition :)
