    Oh my goodness - I am so thankful for this video. I was a cricut user and never had an issue with offset, but I can never seem to make an offset around text in my ScanNCut - this video solved my problem! Thank you.

    Wow I've had my BSNC for 2 years and didn't realize how many patterns actually are available. Thank you.

      I'm happy to hear the video was helpful 😊. And, yes, there are a lot of nice patterns that are ideal for all sorts of projects.. I don't know if you know about our training courses for the ScanNCut so here is a link that you may like to take a look at www.alandaonline.com/product-category/brother-scanncut/. We also have an 11 video free course available. Sometimes it helps to have a little bit of a refresher, you just never know what you might pick up.

      Pezabelle That's great Pezabelle. Don't forget to check out our other Brother Scan n Cut tutorials for more ideas and we have free scan n cut files on our website although you will need to register for our newsletter to gain access. But it's worth it.

    I love this idea for making my own Christmas tags but it has also helped with a baby album I am making. I always get so much inspiration from your tutorials. Many thanks xx

    @TeeJay G - I probably should have done it that way but I thought that it would be a little easier to go back and start again only because I would have only been able to select the wreath bow by doing that and then would still have had to go back and select the tree base.

    Nice project. I made some of these last week using my Scan n Cut; they turned out wonderful-mine were made large to go as gift tags on Christmas bags. In the video you showed how you changed the size for the wreath and tree but you started (selected finish) over again on the screen instead of choosing go to next part- why? You already set the size so it would have been correct for the second part (tree bottom & wreath bow)

    Im a complete beginner What weight of card would you suggest to make the garland and the Christmas flower which are in the scan n cut workspace
    Thank you

    • @alandacraft
      @alandacraft  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I cant remember what weight of cardstock we used in the video Marian. Generally we use a medium weight cardstock for embellishments, so between 65lb and 85lb works well.

  • @nhcharmedone
    @nhcharmedone 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just wondering what weight cardstock you're using? I have used 110 pound white and works great, but my colored cardstock is only 65 pound, and I am afraid to try and stick it to the mat lol

    • @alandacraft
      @alandacraft  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We don't take weight of the cardstock into account when buying it. We simply buy cardstock that we like and so far we haven't had any problems. In fact I just checked and can't find any mention of the weight on the packs we have on hand. This machine cuts scrapbooking paper and unless you have a very sticky mat you shouldn't have any problems with any cardstock that you use. Why not cut a small piece and put it on the mat to test how it sticks. We use cardstock to remove some of the sticky from out mats when we first get them.

      @@alandacraft Thank you very much for the reply, I'll try a small piece and see how iit goes. 😁

    Is there a way you can do this on design n cut or only scan n cut

    • @alandacraft
      @alandacraft  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We don't have a design n cut, but I do believe they use the same software, so you should be able to make them for the design n cut.

      Do you have Spotlight store near you? If so, they sell them. Otherwise you can purchase online from craftonline.com.au or ebay.com.au.

    hi there, can you use this machine to design your own card (drawing) and personalise with names. Can you show this at all ?

    • @alandacraft
      @alandacraft  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      As long as you can convert the drawing you create to a cutting file that the machine recognizes, then yes, you can design your own cards and personalise them. This would all be done in ScanNCut Canvas which is the online software tool you can use to design your own cutting/drawing files. You can sign up for ScanNCut Canvas at the link below and have a play to see if it will suit what you are wanting to do. It's free to sign-up - scanncutcanvas.brother.com/en

    how many sheets can it cut at a time

    • @alandacraft
      @alandacraft  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The machine only takes one sheet of paper at a time. But you can cut multiple patterns from that sheet in the one go.

    Hi can anyone help me. All i want to do is make a square frame for a card. I want 180mm square. then inside I want 145 mm square cut out. Simple, or is it. I wasted an hour today trying to do this. I can easily make a square of 18o mm. But then when I "add" it says I can not add any more because there is not enough room on the mat. There isnt anywhere for me to say that I want the smaller box inside the big box. Any tips would be appreciated Thanks

    • @alandacraft
      @alandacraft  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You need to resize the squares AFTER you have added them. So add two squares to the screen without changing the default size. Then click on one square and go to the editing screen and resize it to 180mm. Then go back to the other square, click on that and resize.

      Thank you, I did it. you were so helpful.
      Can i ask you another question. If i scan a picture in the machine and it misses a couple of bits on the outline, is there a way of changing that. So for example, I put in a good dark picture of a cat, some of the paws were a cream colour. it didnt recognize bits of the cream. I eventually drew a bit of outline and then it was ok.

    How do you keep your mat sticky?

    • @alandacraft
      @alandacraft  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The first thing we do is to use wet wipes to keep the mat clean. This gets the sticky back but if all else fails and it's totally lost it's sticky, then you can use Zig 2-Way glue on the mat. We have videos on both of these.
      This is the one on using Zig glue - www.alandacraft.com/how-to-re-sticky-your-brother-scanncut-mat/
      And this is the one on cleaning the mat - www.alandacraft.com/brother-scan-n-cut-tutorial-extending-the-life-of-your-cutting-mat/

    Couldn't you just continue and get the other parts rather than redoing them?

    • @alandacraft
      @alandacraft  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kelsey Maynard Yes, you can definitely do it that way.
