Great question. Think in terms of "macro and micro" adjustments. The barrel adjusters provide micro (small) adjustments. To get the macro (big amount of cable slack) adjustment, you would have to loosen the pinch bolt (at the brake arm) and pull some cable through, then tighten the pinch bolt back. Hello Ty Great question. If the centering screw falls out, it's not a problem. Firstly, should the screw fall out, you may notice that the brake arm/pad on the side that the screw fell out may be very close/touching the rim. If the screw fell out and you need to replace/insert it back, release the spring tension by disconnecting/disengaging the spring. That can make rethreading the screw easier.
