"Soulfully hip. Haunting, hook-based themes delivered as a close three-way embrace... Gustavsen may not play many notes, but he does make them all count." - The Guardian

The Consciousness of Greatness. Thank you, Tord for inspiring others to believe. Thank you, Steinway for giving us pause to listen and reflect.

Such a special musician, every note appears to come from an existential urgency in the soul.
For a year, I was basically just listening to Tord and Scarlatti - two of my favourites.

@@steinwaypianogalleryoslo :) oh many, but "Being There" was my gateway track. He somehow gets to do what in my humble opinion is really seldom - to make the music incredibly philosophical and architectural while at the same time maintaining the poetic core of music. Music usually appears to be an additive thing (verse, refrain, verse),
while he somehow gives this illusion (or maybe not an illusion) to have parallel ideas which are tightly woven. Sometimes I try to imagine the impossible - which words are hidden behind a musical idea. Then, most of the music falls short for the hidden words seem to easy to uncover. Tord appears to poetically innovate with a sense of natural grace.
As if a landscape could be erotic. For instance "Helensburgh Tango" is a monumental, fatal swansong of a deeply polarised civilisation failing to empathise for each other, or maybe a mere dance with someone. On "The Other Side" as if every pearcing chord is a statement about something as big as a cathedral, calling you inside to uncover it's secret.
      Just great stuff... :)
