Actually, some of the BEST redfish action is right after the first and hardest freeze. The sudden temperature drop stuns the bait fish and flushes them out of their hiding areas. I've found wolf packs of upper slot and over slot reds roaming the drop-offs. Slow roll a jighead paddle tail on the bottom or dead stick top water by oyster bars has worked very well for me
@@flatsclassyoutube5502 Mind you I fish very stained water in NE FL off the St Johns in the side creeks and waters. I have gotten some banner days on big reds dead sticking topwaters for 5 to 10 seconds. Two to three twtiches/pops and then dead stick a spook jr or top knocker around points /structure by deep channels/holes. I have consistently observed winter wolf packs of upper slot reds on livescope running back and forth along the first depth change off a large mud flat leading to a deeper channel. Two hours after high is best down to dead low. During the summer to early fall I have regularly seen very large groups of upper slot to over slot hanging off major creek points that empty into 20+ feet channels. But those are more difficult to fish due to passing boats throwing wake. Wake baits and topwater are best on these worked medium to fast with pauses around 1 to 2 seconds.
These are the videos I like. Cool cloudy days. You said something I soaked up right off fish crabs when there is crab pots. Lol makes good since to me.
Hey ca I live an hour from ozello always fished the ramp at the end , any major navigation hazards at the Jon brown I should be aware of? I took my kayak there once and I can see why it’s mainly used for air boats lol 😂
Also ca how should I retrieve the kicker crab . I bounce bounce pause and no luck but I had one bite at it on the surface when I was reeling in quicker than normal cause of a passing boat while I was on the kayak
I have been using them this week in Sarasota Bay, and killing the snook. Got a 32 and 31 inch around 2:00 am. Both I caught with a slow retrieve and a small pause. The start of the retrieve got me both fish. Good luck and Happy holidays
CA, What size HOOK on those 1/4oz Snake Lockz? Those Kicker crabs are fairly thick, so the wide gap is necessary. The action and hook set are the jist of my question. I loved the successful backwater crustacean quest! Thank you!
Thank you for providing the great content ! Happy Holidays to you and yours ! Could you share what size and weight SnakelockZ you were using while throwing the Kicker CrabZ ? Thanks
Listen to this man. SUBSCRIBE NOOOOOWWWWW!!!!! Trust me!! If you're inshore saltwater fishing then look no further!! This is the guy!! Merry Christmas Cap!! And a happy healthy new year 💪💪🤘🤘🎄🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
I have caught a few fish with the kicker crab but the lure is not aerodynamic and requires a heavier weighted jig head to get any kind of casting distance. Still a nice looking lure and something different the fish aren't accustomed to seeing.

Need a video explaining what pound braid we should choose for rod and reel combos. Or what you prefer.

Ca Richardson I've tested out the kicker crabz and have zero catches on them any suggestions 🤔

A steady slow swim generally gets good results. I literally fish it just like a swim bait or paddle tail
Merry Christmas 🎅 CA to you and your family 🎄
Wisconsin here.. minus 7 degrees and 25 mile an hour winds… not laughing at you guys have a Merry Christmas CA!
😉 I get it… its all about perspective
Thanks CA! I was looking for the best ways to rig the Kicker Crabz so that was both excellent information and immaculate timing! Merry Christmas!

Hey CA, great video. For ultra clear water up on the grass flats like Keaton Beach, what is your favorite color CrabZ?
Ca I have a dedicated trout combo what combo should I get next
You’ll likely need a medium heavy set-up next for special scenarios
@@flatsclasscharters ok thank you wanted to know because it’s christmas
I hope we see you using the Curado BFS this winter. I'm near taking the plunge all out on BFS, just need that little push......

I cast it on a 1/4oz Snake Lockz and on a medium extra fast rod… I get a solid cast of 100’ or better.
