Meanwhile in MDV area, native birds and other predators have figured out that Latern flies are not poisonous and are consuming them. The latern fly population in DC area are dropping dramatically. With that said, it'll probably be the same up here. Just a matter of time and evolution to do its thing
Reminds me of a classic Simpsons episode with the Bolivian Tree Lizard. Principal Skinner said after the Bolivian Tree Lizard eats all of the pigeons, they were going to introduce a type of venomous snake, and then use a type of carnivorous gorilla to eat the snakes, and then the gorillas would freeze to death in the winter. Makes you wonder, after the wasps, what other species would be introduced to handle them?
I was at Jones beach couple days ago.. I even saw them on the water where I swam, they're just all over. But i encountered these idk what you call them; they're like small flies but they bite so annoying lol
We live in the 5 county area where the lanternflies first started. They were bad for a couple years but i haven't seen one here in like 2 or 3 years. Penn State came out and said they are not as bad as first predicted. I find unhatched eggs in our firewood all the time. Honestly if Praying mantis are so great and rare and they eat lanternflies maybe that's what we should breed
Get rid of the darned Tree of Heaven. Squash them, but they feed off the lanternfly. The Tree of Heaven is right there in the video with the nymphs feeding off it.
We are very concerned with the invasion of immigrant bugs, plants, and fish that are destroying our land but not invasion of people who can harm our citizens.
They’re definitely adapting to the nyc life. Last year they were easier to squash and kill, but this year they are ducking and weaving our feet.
Duck and weave deez nuts
It's like they knew our every move

Sounds like another bad idea. Like killer bees.
we gonna have Chinese wasp problems next
Everything bad comes from china no lie 😂
*Then when the wasps get out of control, what then?*

These things are everywhere on Long Island 😡
Yeah they’re now on the tree I park under at work

I'm not sure lol could be. We have horse flies in Quebec.. I recall they're kind of big but these are like "baby" flies really tiny. :)
There everywhere around my house in pa 😂 Everytime I go out I see one during the day
i'm on the east end and i have started to see them recently too.
I agree with the person...please no wasp that can sting/bite us!!! The latern flies are harmless....except to agriculture of course 😂

These Scientists are nuts! Wasps!!! I'd prefer the harmless flies
dont complain if your food products get really expensive because of them. but if the wasps eat something else, we’re screwed
Bad idea. Look what happened literally every other time we have done this
What will the wasps eat once they consume all the spotted lantern flies?
No thx. I'll take lantern flies. Wasp are you 4 real?
They are a problem for a couple of years then the native creatures learn to eat them. We had tons two years ago and just a couple this year
My backyard abuts wooded parkland near DC. I still haven't seen one of these pests.
Can they train insects in the lab to eat them so they can teach others?
I guess they've never learned!!!
This is why they need to watch what people bring from other countries
It’s already here I took a picture of it in my back yard
Here in Pennsylvania, birds and praying mantis have realized that spotted lanternflies are safe to eat. So they have been eating lanternflies.
Mmm what birds we need them in Long Island ny those insects are everywhere 😢😢😢
No more wasps please! 👎🏻
Everybody should watch great moments in unintended consequences
Bees are now eating then
Be more concerned with "Asylum Seeker" invasion
😂😂😂😂 that’s right!
can't stop G-D's judgement, look up John Edwards quoting judgement in 2001, they knew it was coming
It’s all interconnected globalist crap
It’s all interconnected globalist crap
Barn spiders are helping us out a lot.
The spiders by us destroy these things our yard is FULL of spiders it’s crazy.
😮
What is the name of the wasp
I saw one today and had no idea . So cute though . In orange ct.
I will echo what some others have said. They were horrendous in 2020, less every year since. Only saw a few this year.
between the weird bugs and mushrooms sprouting all over the place an alien invasion is immanent
did you hear the word CHINA at all? nope.
This is how Amongst Us begins
Nope nope nope keep yo bees lol
Yeah, it’s a good idea until it’s not. Seems like this idea has backfired before.

"Facts"
Yeah measles are back and now they're testing blood donations for evidence of malaria.. don't leave out TB
yes, get over it grandpa. did you get hurt? no, stop whining
Vinegar
They said so much but didn’t say how the wasp was gonna get controlled if they were introduced. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
What happened with those big spiders from Asia we supposedly were getting?
lol 1:29 came out of nowhere
Just wait a couple years
They’ll go away
pretty sure ive seen those red guys in queens or manhattan in the last few months
Abolish all bugs, thankyou
They been saying this for 2 years wat the hell taking so long
The moth population is dropping, native critters in NA are eating them.
You mean like covid 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Then the wasp will invade lol
Will the WASP have an impact on our butterfly population's?
Praying mantis
idiocy
Classical biological control.. hmmm, seems like they tried this on humans first
Scary… you are absolutely right and unfortunately, many still don’t believe that’s what happened during the Pandemic.
Stay woke my friend !
Ummm no
