How I'd this a comentar of a loser kid that's the truth any body builder or weight lifter know this you can even ask your grandma and she will says squads do some research educate yourself
When you're doing the Leg Press, your legs should go down until the knees are at a 45 degree angle in order to reduce your risk of injury. As a Powerlifter, I usually do Leg Presses during my Squat Day as a supplementary exercise to build and maintain my Thigh and Quadricep muscles.
Ya.......I'm gonna have to just bite the bullet and purchase your program B-Pak. You know your stuff so well that it almost hurts. I feel like you are just tweaking every mistake I make at the gym in each video lol. Pretty funny actually. Thanks for these.
I told few people in my gym about this proper way of leg press along with tricep exercise and chest squeeze, now i see many more doing it. We appreciate the knowledge. Especially me. Thanks Ben.
Great job Ben. It’s amazing how many more of my colleagues listen now. I’ve been telling them this for years. I wasn’t aware of this until I learned it in my biomechanics class. Keep up the great advice. 👍🏽
Appreciated so much sharing this video and all the knowledge you have - I wished have you around 25 years ago - save us from so much mistakes BBuilders fall into. Big thumbs up 👍👍
went from only leg press to only squats, finally ready to incorporate the press back to add that size from, word for word answered all my questions. thank you !
Ben makes a very good point at the end of the video about people not executing exercises properly in the gym. It’s also a shame that many so called “personal trainers” in gyms, more so in commercial gyms, have absolutely no idea and give people bad advice.
***** yah ben's not lookn like hes even training let alone competing. maybe he's giving his system a rest. not lookn "pro" size right now thats for sure.
Diesel1Dee If you are really curious, he is coming off a non bodybuilding related injury but is now training for the Arnold, not sure about him being small he is 292 right now said he will be over 300 by the Olympia before he start cutting down. I hope to see him come in his former glory and not the showing from last years performance but hell he made a fug ton of money by concentrating more on his businesses than prepping last year and admitted it he didn't work hard enough for the Arnold last year. I have to respect him saying i just didn't put in the work rather than blaming it on outside factors.
Ben is such a great teacher.. I'd be tempted to say he should focus on this more but he is still an active competitor and I'd love to see him compete again but after watching a few vids I instantly subscribed, I love the no nonsense approach to training and the detail to everything relating diet & training, its always refreshing getting the word from a current iffb pro cause these guys never really sit down and break everything down when they're competing cause of their hectic schedules but I am loving these vids and would recommemd this to anyone that wants to learn more about training from the perspective of a current iffb pro.. Thanks Ben these videos are fantastic!, I hope you continue making more and wishing you the best for the 2015 calendar.
Very smart ROM commentary by Ben. Starting hip position in the leg press is about 90 degrees. Since the normal hip ROM is about 120 degrees, appropriate additional hip flexion is about 30 degrees more, from the starting position. The leg press, done with too much flexion, is a great way to herniate a lumbar disc. I learned the hard way, November 16, 1983; never been normal since.
The closing remarks are SO true! I see all the time. Even the people who look like they know what they're doing could still improve quite a bit. You can do x y or z in the gym (or whatever) but is what you're doing optimal? Optimal is the the key word. Some people don't care about optimal. If you're willing to learn correct and implement it, then you care about optimal
I was just thinking about how great would be if Ben upload a video for proper form for leg press because very often I feel pain in my lower back when I do heavy leg press, Thank you Ben!
I started to leg press listening to this advice and went from pushing up to 300 or so to 600 or more. Time under tension and high volume for the gains.
I wish I would of had this when I was younger. Im glad I have it now to help the younger generation. Im 35 and love learning these things. I was a powerlifter before and transitioned to bodybuilding...I dont call myself a bodybuilder though but I get asked a lot of questions and everything I learn here I share with them. Thank you for all you do man!!! Was wondering if you could do one on biceps?? Its a lagging part of my body and I seen one on proper form but what exercises do you find best for Bis???
hello ben congratulations for the work and for helping us so much, I'm from Brazil and I follow you some time, I wonder if you could make a video with only your triceps workouts and if you intend to disclose the brand here in Brazil, thanks
Súper!!! I had notice ny low back bothering me a little and I corrected this excercise, but I felt like I was cheating lol, could have use this info long time ago, thank you for the vid, it's great.
BPak rocks the muscle building world and anyone who says otherwise is probably someone who throws their dumbbells up with momentum and lifts super heavy, "bro"-style.
If you're range of motion can only allow you do quarter movements as demonstrated on the leg press, then you're obviously have flexibility issues that you need to correct first..
Excellent video, and common sense; some of the zealots go a bit too far in encouraging extreme ROMs that may not be appropriate for certain movements. This was a very simple and common sense way to figure out your appropriate leg press depth. Well done!
I am no expert and do not disagree with anything said here. I just notice what a short range of motion the proper form allows here. I was thinking of buying a leg press for my home and after watching this and the short range of motion I doubt that I will now after all. Better to just do squats and leg ups etc.
hey ben can u please make a video on alcohol and building muscle ? i know alot of people wana know about this, soo many people say soo many different answers, but i wana know the truth about it, about protein synthesis etc
Hey Ben quick question regarding muscle tension. My brachialis always takes more tension than my biceps do. Anything suggestions to switch the tension over?
edwin g. i don't understand what Ben was trying to teach us when he was "pulling," his feet off the press (at 2 :15 - 2 :27 ish.) i know hes trying to show how to figure out the best foot placement, but what did the pulling establish?
Since I started following you, I stopped listening to anyone be the gym trainer or the other youtubers. The in-depth knowledge that you have is unfathomable.
If the purpose is to isolate the quads/knee extension. Why would you choose a compound exercise, which barely includes half of the quads range of motion? Why not just jump on the knee extensions machine if u cba to squat?
He's exactly right, most people at the gym are idiots and have no idea how to work out. That's why I don't go to the gym and have commercial equipment at home. It's an investment in myself and the value of my free time.
I told few people in my gym about this proper way of leg press along with tricep exercise and chest squeeze, now i see many more doing it. We appreciate the knowledge. Especially me. Thanks Ben.
went from only leg press to only squats, finally ready to incorporate the press back to add that size from, word for word answered all my questions. thank you !
Did this 4 days ago and a giant difference. I started watching him less than 2 weeks ago and had changed me so much. Thank you so much. Awesome
+Shawn Lauderdale I can help you more than ben ever could with just two words, are you ready? squat more!
Jonathan Forster lmfao
The stupid comment of a loser!

Ben is the smartest bodybuilder ever...
wish him best for the olympia 2014..
not at this years olympia lol
***** yah ben's not lookn like hes even training let alone competing. maybe he's giving his system a rest. not lookn "pro" size right now thats for sure.
Diesel1Dee
He might be on his off cycle phase

Excellent explanation on the correct way to use a sled.
Training legs now, going to implement this into my routine right now!

When you can't decide between Ben and Kai who more knowledge....I vote Ben due to the thorough explanations. God bless brother
This was great info thankyou!!
Thanks Ben, your video helped alot.
Wow! I learned a ton of stuff from this Ben, and I now know why I hurt my back doing them. Thank you for so many quality training tips!!
So much knowledge in these videos. Thanks so much!
Very intelligent, very educational, and most of all very useful, thank you again and can't wait to see you back out on the olympia stage Hulk
Makes alot of sense!! I'll try it with less range of motion next time
Always show my friends who are looking to put on size your stuff.
So awesome, please keep em coming!
Great tip. I can't lie i see i was going to deep on my presses now. You sir gained a sub...
Thanks for the Tip!
I started to leg press listening to this advice and went from pushing up to 300 or so to 600 or more. Time under tension and high volume for the gains.
+N.A. Brown time under tension has been proven to be bs, ben just keeps at it so he has something to say/sell.
great video! especially for us who cant afford a pt for the moment
That's excellent advice, thanks dude.
Great vid!
Awesome tips! Cant wait to see more tip videos. :)
I feel like every time he speaks I need a notepad. Master of muscle. Sensei is speaking....
Loving the videos!!
Great lesson as always.
Awesome!! Do a shoulder video!!

Love learning of all these video's shared
great video. this video alone got you a new sub
I wish I would of had this when I was younger. Im glad I have it now to help the younger generation. Im 35 and love learning these things. Yessss my friend Ben you great ifbb pro and wise great Coatch traîner 💪💪🇨🇦🇨🇦🏆🥇🥇SergeSim Voyer ifbb pro and Mr canada 2006
Really good explanation, about what about foot stance?I can't believe it doesnt matter. Wouldn't going narrow target the quads even more?
shoulder with a part and im the middle of the pad targets the quads
he's right. what people should be going and what people are doing is far apart.
I am no expert and do not disagree with anything said here. I just notice what a short range of motion the proper form allows here. I was thinking of buying a leg press for my home and after watching this and the short range of motion I doubt that I will now after all. Better to just do squats and leg ups etc.
Would you not have a greater range of motion, if you lowered the back pad to the floor?
hey ben can u please make a video on alcohol and building muscle ? i know alot of people wana know about this, soo many people say soo many different answers, but i wana know the truth about it, about protein synthesis etc

Hey Ben quick question regarding muscle tension. My brachialis always takes more tension than my biceps do. Anything suggestions to switch the tension over?
If the knees flare will this take tension off the quads? I am confused where to place my feet and where to have the back pad. This stuff is great
Edwin G. Thanks but still confused over where the back pad should be
edwin g. i don't understand what Ben was trying to teach us when he was "pulling," his feet off the press (at 2 :15 - 2 :27 ish.) i know hes trying to show how to figure out the best foot placement, but what did the pulling establish?
ah. ok. i think i get it now. thank you for replying!
Thanks BEN this helps heaps :)

lmao is it bad that i knew this video came out last year by lookinh at his shoes. haha i was like o those are last years model of the nike free.
If the purpose is to isolate the quads/knee extension. Why would you choose a compound exercise, which barely includes half of the quads range of motion? Why not just jump on the knee extensions machine if u cba to squat?
leg extension and knee extension is the same because you cannot extend your leg without bending your knees.
Bravo
bravo
Knees should be pointing strait up a the ceiling and don’t go any further. I see so many people going too far down.
buy the mi-40 program from his website it will change your life I assure you
he's locking his knees
YOUR SHIRT SHOULD SAY "OPTIMAL INTELLIGENCE BUILDING"
He's exactly right, most people at the gym are idiots and have no idea how to work out. That's why I don't go to the gym and have commercial equipment at home. It's an investment in myself and the value of my free time.
RTS!!!
his calves tho i need his calf genetics
Hurts so much when you do it this way.
I can leg press 480 pounds and i'm 10, I know you guys won't beleive me but I don't care
@Abhi Nadendla Actually, I'm pretty sure we don't care either way.
Did this guy skip leg day or what?
ben is getting smaller :S wtf?
I told few people in my gym about this proper way of leg press along with tricep exercise and chest squeeze, now i see many more doing it. We appreciate the knowledge. Especially me. Thanks Ben.
