That grown hand coming out of the wall after that child’s voice. NO! I have a friend who worked as a nanny for a couple of years and is still scarred from the end of this movie. We still affectionately call each other Brahmsy every once and a while 😂.
Yass, I was waiting for this one! The scene of him climbing out of the wall had my friends and I screaming in the theater 😂. Thank you for your continued service of scaring yourself for our entertainment ❤
I remember seeing this in theaters in high school with my dad and my friend. The whole way through, we were all laughing at the jumpscares thinking it was another paranormal doll movie...But when Brahms climbed out of the wall my friend and I were so genuinely disturbed. For all the critiques this film gets, I still think that's one of the most well done twists. Nobody expected it, and the actors of course were beyond phenomenal! The actor who played adult Brahms needs...so many awards. He was so disturbingly creepy and horrifying. And Cole too...Very very realistic portrayal of a narcissistic controlling abuser. Obviously Lauran is sheer perfection in whatever she does lol, but the entire cast was amazing, especially for there only being six characters (plus the voice we hear Greta talking to over the phone and the driver.)
This may have just became my favourite reaction vid from Alanda so far. Her reactions from 36:54 onwards were just brilliant and so hilarious. Not only was she freaked out, she was freaking clicking, clucking and gagging.😂😂😂
I’m so happy you finally reacted to this movie! Yea the parents knew and purposely hid Brahms from the cops. They are the main villains of this movie to me 😅 the beginning was a foreshadowing when the wall grabbed her neck in the dream… crazy
right? am I the only one who thought brahms is the way he is because of his parents horrible raising? making him live in the walls, seemingly either a detrimental lack of discipline or making him live life like a child. because a man does not turn out like that for no reason. the parents have a big responsibility in this, it seems like they babies their son, never told him no, and never let him grow up and learn. i don't know how much I can fault brahms when he's been completly isolated all his life and never taught how to be a good adult grown person
It's the re-watchability for me... I can keep coming back to Alanda's posts and never get bored. I ain't lying when I say I've seen more than 50% of her reactions 3 times or more. 😯
The castle where this movie was filmed at is only a few minutes from my house. In reality, not only is it not in England, but rather Victoria, Canada on Vancouver Island; it's also not in the middle of nowhere, but actually in the middle of the city. It's also bit smaller than some of the wide shots would make you believe. Still huge and you have to turn your neck up completely in order to get a clear view of the top, but nevertheless smaller than the movie suggests. And as usual: A terrific reaction, Alanda! You really are the best reaction channel on TH-cam!
I always found it funny how she was like impossible when Brahms came out the wall like she can believe the spirit of a child is possessing therefore animating a porcelain doll but not that the real life child survived the fire that had said to have killed him and had been living in the walls for decades.
"when brahms hear you fucking, he gone try to kill somebody!" 🤣🤣🤣 That was a line right there! Interesting facts about The Boy (2016) Lauren Cohan played an American nanny traveling to the United Kingdom for her job as a babysitter in the film. Ironically, while Cohan is an American-born citizen, she has had an English accent since she spent her adolescence in England. She hides her accent in this film. (2) The main plot is the same in the short film Familia colateral (2007). In both films, a babysitter accepts taking care of a toy to get paid, and strange things begin to happen. (3) The film was originally titled "In a Dark Place" and had Jane Levy in the lead role. (4) Cast members actually used the doll ("Brahms") to prank each other on the set. On one occasion, one of the cast members propped the doll up outside of the other actor's bathroom in their trailer to scare them. Upon seeing this, they hurled the doll outside of their trailer and the crew had to repair it and make a replacement doll.

I think one of my favorite Alanda running gags is when she is vehemently against a character (usually a man), and about halfway she switches up because the final girl is on one and starts rooting for them to get away in one piece.

This beats the possessed doll trope. There's the urban legend of having someone living inside your houses walls without you knowing it, like a squatter
On a fourth watch and I think at the beginning the father was dropping a lot of hints before they left. He said, 'Whatever it looked like on the outside, our son is here.' Of course, because of horror and the idea of ghosts, no one would immediately take that to mean the son was alive and still in the house.
The fucking mask that the real Braham's wears that's like the doll Braham's might be one of the genuinely freakiest masks that I've ever seen in a horror movie.

I'm guessing adult Brahms might have got badly burnt in the fire and that's why he wears the porcelain-looking mask? Probably traumatised by what he went through as well and it made him twisted in the head? But yep, a scary apparition for sure!
I know you said he’s so creepy looking when he first pops out but here’s a fun fact I’ve read somewhere; The only reason they put that mask on him was because test Audiences thought he was hot without it and there wasn’t any sense of scary in that. Whoever gave grown man Brahms a deep v is messed up cuz that hairy chest with those pecs did things to me while also terrifying me. It’s like OH MY GOD!!! Oh my god…
I have to laugh at this movie because my autistic self would have just been following the rules the whole time and probably be fine (or more likely just avoided the "haunting" type stuff & been butchered in my sleep one night with no warning) I'm getting paid to play act babysitting this doll and follow his rules & if I'm gonna take the paycheck that's what I'll do.
I love how as soon as the abusive boyfriend shows up everyone is like "Brahms! You are now the hero of this movie"

The TWIST godDAMN!!! loved that. You're so criminally underrated as a channel, I *need* others to discover your reactions😭
@36:24 the reference tho 😂 An iconic moment in the history of reality tv 🤣
I like how this movie doesn’t go for the ‘possessed doll’ idea but just a crazy guy in a basement using a doll as some sort of decoy😂
Alanda being horrified at the realization girl has to care for a doll. Then "Where did you get that face on your face?!" 😆
This has to be one of the most....if not the most....entertaining reactions you've ever done....instant fave to rewatch when I need a bit of joy
Whoever gave grown man Brahms a deep v is messed up cuz that hairy chest with those pecs did things to me while also terrifying me.
It’s like OH MY GOD!!! Oh my god…
My day is always made when u post! You're a ray of light!
37:13 is literally the funniest thing i saw all day, I love her reactions. 😄
I have to laugh at this movie because my autistic self would have just been following the rules the whole time and probably be fine (or more likely just avoided the "haunting" type stuff & been butchered in my sleep one night with no warning) I'm getting paid to play act babysitting this doll and follow his rules & if I'm gonna take the paycheck that's what I'll do.
hard same 👌
