    Arrow on metal backing faces back, in video seems to be opposite of tire rotation?
    Also the sensors are on passenger and drivers front calibers?
    The one you took off had 1 Ling wire and 1 short ? That's good or you replaced? Thanks good video!

      Thanks for your comment! Just to clarify, in some cases, the arrow on the metal backing indeed points in the opposite direction of tire rotation. As for the sensors, yes, they are typically located on the front calipers on both sides. The wire lengths may vary, but rest assured, we replaced the parts as necessary in the video.

    Nice job scratching and grooving the rotor with your flat head. To do this properly you need the specific tool for this job to compress the pistons in the caliper. The method in the video would only be okay if you were also changing the rotors at the same time and don't care about damaging it in the process

    Does it not ruin the rotors while
    Compressing or can we use a scan tool to put the car on brake service mode ?

      While compressing the brake caliper piston, you don't typically ruin the rotors unless done incorrectly. However, using a scan tool to put the car in brake service mode can indeed aid in the process. For more info, check out our Full System Scanner on www.youcanic.com/scanner. Great video. I always like to use steel wool on the pins to make sure they are nice in clean. They eventually will swell from all the chemicals they use in the winters here on east coast and sometimes become impossible to remove. Clean that baby though...all that dirt coming off during your video made me cringe a little.

    how come every mechanic shops tells me i need to replace the rotors with my brake pads on this car? is it okay to just change the pads with out the rotors? are they lying when they say its really bad for the car if i dont replace the rotors with new brake pads?

    • @YOUCANIC
      @YOUCANIC  āļ›āļĩāļ—āļĩāđˆāđāļĨāđ‰āļ§ +5

      Replacing the rotors is not always mandatory, and there are situations where they can be left in place. For example, if the rotors are still in good condition, meaning they haven't developed any grooves, cracks or warping that could cause issues with braking, they may not need to be replaced.
      One reason why it is recommended to replace the rotors when replacing brake pads is that the new pads will be smooth and flat, while the old rotors may have developed a slight lip or edge where the old brake pads were wearing down. This lip can cause noise and uneven braking performance, and can also accelerate wear on the new brake pads.
