  • Dying is a natural passage of life, a path most of us are called upon at some time in our lives to navigate with someone we care about. Yet, often, as we step into this passage, we find ourselves unprepared, without the words to say in those last conversations with this one whom we’ve loved. In this video, Pastor Don guides us through what to say, and how to say it, when we are with a loved one who is dying.

I was ridden with guilt after I had scolded my mother while caring for her. I was overwhelmed with emotions, was distressed and felt helpless at my mother's inability to perform certain basic functions. Her ailment was just not allowing her to do them.
On the night I was coming away to the US, I was feeling horrible at not having used more calming words. I hugged my mother and asked her if she could ever forgive me.
She calmly said, " What else could you have done? I was being naughty. Whenever those thoughts surface, tell them to go away".
Even today, 10 years after she passed away, that brings me solace.
Indeed I Love You, Thank You, Forgive Me and I Forgive You are not mere words. They can bring healing to both parties.
    Thank you very much🙏

It's 3:00 a.m. and I'm sitting here with my mother. I was taking her last breaths. It's been the most painful moments of my life. I agree with everything said with the exception of, "Goodbye". I refuse to say goodbye because goodbye has finality and implies you will not ever see them again. Instead, what I say is, "I will see you again."

My dad passed away on 1-18-2022. I told my dad many times I love him. Maybe I should have said more. My dad was my hero.

Do not worry. It will only be a few seconds for him, hopefully a few more decades for you, but then the moment of reunion will come.

My brother is dying of cancer. I am waiting to talk to him today because I live far away and he doesn't want me to visit. I've been watching different videos to gain strength and insight to help deal with the overwhelming feeling of sadness. Thank you for sharing your insight

@@dr.aashnasharma5598 he said that he doesn't want me to travel to see him because he doesn't know when he will have a good day and doesn't want me to waste a trip to see him. Maybe it is his pride.

Thank you for these beautiful words of direction. I am losing a very good friend right now -- she is on hospice, she is still cognizant, still tries to smile, can hardly speak -- and today we smiled over some memories. I prayed with her, reminded her of good times we have shared. I will see her again tomorrow; her time is short; and I will definitely use these ideas you have shared. ~ August 2024

I said I love you to my mom the times I was only able to be with her to distance. Though she had no verbal voice she mouthed the same to me. She needed to tell me to sell the house and I assured her that it would be done. Just before leaving her for the last time I kissed her forehead and said goodbye.

Thank you brother. Its hard from a Christians perspective because if they are lost, you may be the last chance to lead them to the Lord.

God will give every human being a second chance in the thousand years of reigning on earth. Your loved one will be resurrected and will understand the truth. Only if they will refuse it then that they’ll go to second death. But have hope, not all is lost. Jesus is good and is bringing goodness into the world and forgiveness.

@alinabuzulanofficial2915 I have to disagree with you but it would be an intersting interpretation. Hebrews 9:27 says And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

My sister in law is fighting her death that is with hours. It’s so hard not to be able to say yes, you are dying, when she ask because she gets so upset. I don’t want to die…. 😢
We pray she lets God give her peace.

Thank you for this guidance because I did not know where to begin. My niece (unbeliever) has asked me to write a letter to my sister from whom I have been mostly estranged ever since our mother died over 40 yrs ago. I take that as a call from God and because her time is now short, and since she cannot speak and is too far away for me to visit, also her birthday is next week; so it seems imminent that I speak to her by letter asap.

Yes, but if they are NOT saved by the Blood of the Christ (1 Corinthians 15), then when they die, they will NOT go to heaven, they will go to Hell like the Rich Man in Luke 16. Eternity awaits us all and EVERYONE gets to 'live forever', it's just a matter of WHERE and in What Condition we get to 'live forever'.

Just tell them that since they were christions in life...to enjoy hell. Pastors aren't qualified to say anything.

  • @jrbailey3208
    @jrbailey3208 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Until the last few seconds, I thought this was just another 'feel good' platitude lecture; and MOST of it was.
NO mention of SIN and why that issue is so important. NO mention of the Cross and why that was necessary. NO mention of Hell, Damnation, and the Lake of Fire; just a bunch of adjectives concerning 'the goal' of giving 'peace' to someone who is about to be Judged by Christ after they die.
We are ALL sinners, and our ONLY Hope is in Christ, and ONLY in THIS LIFE: when we leave it, IF we leave without Christ as our Lord and Saviour, we will find ourselves in Hell, burning in the flames and in agony, as did the 'Rich Man' in Luke 16. We have CHOICES in this life, but after we die, Hebrews 9:27.
How sad this 'pastor' spent so much time dealing with Self Centered 'niceties' rather than dealing with convey the Gospel of Christ to those who are dying.
