Just a tip from a diabetic, If anyone can't find glucose paste get a squeeze tube, any color except blue, of cake icing. You can apply that between the gums and lips of the patient in the event of low blood sugar and massage it in on the outside of the lips. This will allow the icing to be absorbed quickly though the gums and begin to raise the blood sugar. The reason you shouldn't use the color blue is because in the event of first responders showing up and they see blue lips they will assume the patient is not breathing and treat false symptoms.
I wonder if red might be bad, too. Could it look like carbon monoxide poisoning?

As a medic the first thing I check is airway, breathing, circulation. Is the airway patent? Are they breathing? Appropriately? Lung sounds? Then circulation. Are they pink warm and dry? Pulse; strong, weak, thready, bounding. Then I continue my assessment. Also, squeeze packets of honey.
Red food coloring is pretty well toxic, so stay away from that too.
I carry a little maple syrup bottle from Cracker Barrel in my First Aid Kit because I have diabetic friends who sometimes go low on sugar. No muss, no fuss, no odd residual colors.

“Having someone else raise your kids…” man that hits home.
I was worried about my kids becoming socially awkward due to home schooling. My wife changed my mind when she pointed out that all teenagers are glued to their phones in any social setting. My kids who are home schooled are way more socially proficient than most public school kids.
Nah man. I was homeschooled and had more friends than when I went back to public school. Trust me, you don't need them to socialize with public school kids 😂. There's no reason to be in the company of bad people if you ain't there to change em.
I had to laugh when John talked about loving your wife more than your kids, and interrupting adult conversation to give attention to a child. My parents both served in WWII, had been married to each other twice, with marriages to others in between. The result was that we had nine kids running around the house. Any one of us would have caught a quick knock upside the head if we had interrupted an adult conversation. I remember once when my younger brother persisted in this, and my father said to him, "Which one are you again? You know, if you misbehave, I can take you out. I can clearly make more kids." The rest of us thought it was hilarious.
We had a one-income family. My Dad was a career Navy Master Chief, and he always had a side hustle of some sort going on to earn money. Fortunately, the Navy had taught him to do just about everything with his hands, and his childhood as a North Dakota farm boy taught him the rest. My fondest childhood memories are the hours spent with him, doing everything from growing vegetables, to him teaching me to weld and use a metal lathe, to building a garage and once, even building a Navy style whale boat using only hand tools for a guy who wanted to buy one. I'd say he was my best friend, but my father never blurred the line between parent and friend. There was never any confusion about who was in charge between us, and it was him. I don't think I could have disobeyed him even if I had wanted to. His men that I met who served under him in the Navy all said the same. He also conducted himself properly no matter where he was. He lived by the rule that you should never engage in behavior that you don't want to see repeated in your men, and that included me. I learned how to be a man from him, and kids today who don't have a good father are really missing out.
I wish I had heard John's advice on marriage 35 years ago. I ruined a really decent marriage by making my female assistant a confidant. We ate together, traveled together, and shared everything while my wife was busy with school. We never cheated sexually, but we may as well have. I thought I was so smart that I could handle it, but I wasn't, and hurt my wife terribly until she became my ex-wife. If you are a male and want a friend, either get a dog or find a male buddy.to pal around with, but not a woman.

I agree with these 100%. My daughter will be in 6th grade next year, I am desperately trying to figure out a way to transition to home school. As a single father, with her mother not in the picture at all, the logistics are a nightmare. That said…. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
Another option to look for in your area is a small Christian school where the administrator will let you interview them. Even better, is a small Christian school that does a homework co-op. We have one in our area and the school is full of families who are right on point with what John is teaching here (The boys even get taught about chivalry of all things! It's awesome)
@@jon27d Did that last week. 1 open spot for what seemed to be 100 kids. It’ll all work out in the end I’m sure. I just can’t keep her in public school, not an option. Living in the middle of nowhere can be challenging with certain things, but man oh man the upsides are immeasurable.
Alot of it depends on your State. My Wife and I used DiscoveryK12 free online school until we had our own syllabis.

On a positive note, there are many more choices than say 20 years ago.
I received an email from the county this week regarding 3 inappropriate relationships between kids and teachers. 2 in high school and 1 in middle school. MIDDLE SCHOOL! And the wording really pissed me off, it’s not a relationship, it’s abuse. I just am fed up. Ok, rant over.
I'm happy to say that my wife and I are planning right now our transition to a single income household when we start having kids.

That’s how me and my wife do it. It ain’t easy but it’s worth it.
My parents got married right after they graduated college, and my mom might have worked a total of 2 years off the degree she has and almost 33 years later she laughs about imagining going back to work and having to clock in. My parents have never had any regrets over mom staying home, and God has blessed them financially that we always had everything we needed and plenty extra.
My wife and I did that 8 months ago when we had a child. I was very nervous about it, but we made adjustments to our budget and so far it's worked very very well so far. Highly recommend it. I think it's so good for our marriage and child.
When our kids were sent home in March of 2020, they never went back. Homeschool has been awesome and we are looking for land now. We went ahead and got some chickens though. Love the show!!👍🏼
Dude! You just vocalized my unspoken philosophy for life. I am a career firefighter and follower of Christ. I felt like I was an outsider living this way. I really appreciate you sharing this. This gave me courage to press on. I was introduced to you through Sean McDowell whom I love to watch and now I am an avid follower of your channel! Keep it up brother.
When it comes to female friends, it comes down to honoring your wife. Perception is important. I would never want to be seen with a female and someone that knows us see me alone with a woman other than wife. I want their to be no question that I’m faithful and our marriage is solid as a rock. I believe it honors my wife to control the perception of others.

On the topic of our country being charitable - while I was thinking about how I am able to give thousands of dollars to worldwide missions every year just on a nanny salary, John dives into the trap of wanting the best of everything and even more than you can afford. I’ve been a nanny for almost 10 years - it’s SO sad to observe some of the things I have seen people sacrifice for the sake of having nicer materialistic things. I’ve known women who’s salary literally just paid the nanny. The family knew they weren’t bringing in extra money by the mom working, but she just didn’t want to raise her children herself. I could go on and on…
It's really sad. I understand.

I love every bit of this. Wife and I got 5 acres and had a child 2 years ago. I work from and raise our son. Thinking about going home school also. We spend every free moment working on becoming self sufficient. This is the way. Seriously moving foreword i feel like this will be the way soon I don’t like where things are at either at the end of the day it’s not wasted if nothing happens your family is just healthier for it

My whole generation (Gen Z) needs to hear this. I couldn’t agree more, everyone is there own spoiled little kings. They spend to much time entertaining themselves instead of actually using screen time to learn something. Nobody in my generation wants to do hard lobar they try and look for the easiest job that pays the most. It’s sad nobody values hard work anymore. I work at a sawmill, farm 2 acres of vegetables and mow lawns during the summer months. By the way I’m only 17.

Great point. But also keep in mind (while it isn’t an excuse), keep in mind that society waxes and wanes, and the culture and its institutions that one person was born into, can sometimes differ greatly than when another was born.
“Nobody values hard work anymore.” As a general rule, ya probably. But ALSO, past incentives (monetary, culturally, socially) that perhaps had once guided people toward hard work, may have been eroding for decades now, leading current-day young adults with different variables and considerations.
(The classic example of how, say, our grandfathers used to be able to get one job at a factory out of high school, and supper a family of four comfortably, and retire at 65 with a decent pension, plus benefits.)
So all just to say, certainly critique the animal and it’s behavior, but never forget to take into account the environment, and its many overlapping circles

Your work ethic will serve you well in almost every part of your life, but always remember, that you must take time for family, friends, and yourself! I worked hard, long hours when I was younger. Then I severely injured my back at 42 and haven't been able to work since and I get little enjoyment from life now. Everything revolves around how bad I hurt and how well I can get around each day. Enjoy life and take time to live and love! I hope others take note from your work ethic and put it to use!
good job! i retired from the army in 2012. i have 5 acres west of tucson that we farm. Nothing special but it keeps me busy everyday allday, though sometimes a afternoon beer or two slows progress. Keep up the great job
23 year Texas public school science teacher here. I must speak up for all the teachers out there who work their butts off every day actually teaching and not indoctrinating our students with woke ideology. Wait, maybe I do indoctrinate my student's...I preach work ethic, do everything to the best of your ability, attitude determines altitude, teamwork, keeping your word, grit, tenacity, determination, never quit something you start, honesty, and integrity just to name a few.
The problem is that even if your school has some of the best teachers the kids are surrounded by other kids who's parents raise their kids counter to what you teach yours. Schools hand out laptops, (even to our kindergartner) kids bring in tablets and phones and are on them constantly at school and unsupervised on the bus (always finding ways to defeat the restrictions placed on them). In 4th grade girls of the same gender casually talk to others about other girls they are dating. These are the types of things that happen on a frequent basis my wife observed as a substitute happening In a conservative rural school district , the change has been so rapid in just the last 3 years we went from thinking we would never homeschool to we have to homeschool.
@@phyconinga My wife and I both teach. We are at a rural district that is very conservative. Yes, those instances do exist, but it is a very unpopular position to hold among the student population. I am all for home school. But, I just want to make it clear for those people out there that can't homeschool, the majority of teachers are not woke idiots indoctrinating your children.
Even in the rural Idaho school district I teach in currently, I'm seeing wokeness working it's way into the culture. I do see a lot of the kids rebelling against it,but there are kids who accept it sadly, and those are the vocal ones--the squeaky wheels that will push for negative change.
It's great that you are that way however if it's a "free" public education it's curriculum at the very least is very heavily influenced by the government and so much of that curriculum is total and utter bullshit ....and as anyone who has kids in public schools knows it's not actually free. They want money 3 times a week for anything and everything. Fk the public school system. They are destroying the minds of children everywhere and unless that kid has a solid influence at home teaching them how much bullshit is involved they will fall for it and maybe even in spite of that. Home school is the education of champions in our time.

this is the second time watching through this and I really appreciate the tip on making sure your child knows that your conversations come first before their interruptions. I try my best to tell my three year old that I'm talking to mommy whenever she tries to get our attention.
I'm no wealthy guy but I bought a $4,000 precision rifle scope a year ago, I saved up and budgeted around it, sure I didn't have a lot left over but I'm happy with it. With objects set aside, I am 26 years old and I'm happier learning a trade and building skills as opposed to the next guy making 100k a year or spending money they still dont have. I'm a carpenter making sub 100k a year and I am happy, i make a good living and i never miss a meal. There is more to life than just objects, money and objects Don't make a guy happy if they weren't happy prior. Love the morals of this channel, and I enjoy these types of videos and sharing them.
Agree 100% with all 5 of these points. These are what my family is working toward too. The biggest one is not letting someone else raise my kids. Not going to happen.
When it comes to the kids, you GOTTA remember how those kids got here, you and your spouse loved each other and had so much passion for each other, it created a person. Keep that love AND passion during the kids and after they're gone.
Kids are replaceable too (in a good way 😂) your spouse isn't

I'm sitting here listening to The John Lovell Show putting together a puzzle after a days work the snow is falling and my wife is preparing a delicious supper for the family. Everything you are saying is hitting home. I value what you are saying and I want to do better especially when it comes to dating my wife more. In my mid twenties I started martial arts and was punched in the face many times, mostly by people younger than me. I agree that it makes you more respectful of others. It was a lot of fun and my kids will one day take martial arts classes so they can defend themselves and be respectful of others.

Respect the education approach that your family has. We are so late in the education of our youngest (sophomore) so we opted to keep him in public school. We spend a tremendous amount of time with him outside of school and have come to appreciate the discussions we have with him at the dinner table about his day. I think there is something to be gained from having him see and interact with what everyone else is saying (at school), discuss it and potentially work with him on how he deals and responds to it. With this approach, I feel that he is actually better prepared for the potential conflicts that he will come across in life from all of the people that did not have parents that really had healthy relationships with their kids. Just my 2¢ and respect the approach that you guys discuss here as well. I appreciate the content and will likely be subscribing to WPSN soon. Keep up the work brother, I always look to our veteran community to how we are all adopting to live in these crazy times.
"Getting punched in the face" provides immeasurable value! Most people have never been punched in the face and when that unfortunate day comes and they get punched in the face, they're all done. When they're all done, more bad things befall them.

We were blessed enough that we were able to home school our three boys all the way thru high school. All of them graduated college, have jobs, are married and have at least one child. They are getting by just fine. They’re not millionaires, but I consider them all successful.

I agree with everything you have to say. We are a single income family and are homeschooling our kids. It tough but I believe it is worth it with the state of school system and everything else happening right now. I have been watching you for a while now. You are someone I look up too even though we don't know each other. I'm gonna get down there to some of your classes in the future. Keep up the good work and keep spreading the word. Thank you.
I know we served during the same time and we honestly probably grew up similar because we are from areas of the states very similar, that share similar values. I know that we probably think about things in a similar fashion, but I wanted to say thank you to you guys for just articulating this in a manner and a form where the next generation, if we get there, is able to learn from it. For a guy that grew up valuing old values themselves, and a family that has served our country generationally, and would still likely be in boots had I not been wounded, I appreciate watching one sheep dog speak to and mentor the next group of pups. It takes a good guy to end a bad guy, we just need more good guys!

Thank you so much for this sermon John. I am 30 and I am telling you more people need to hear the honesty weather its brutal or not. I was just talking to a buddy about this same topic as it relates to living outside the means of life. The majority of us do live outside of our means within the US and it sucks to witness. The people feel forced or naturally obligated to live by what others have in comparison. Lately it's been absolute psychological warfare and it seems all moral boundaries have lost their structure. The people need to start becoming more self reliant and independent while ignoring the political garbage that only pushes agendas for others. Blind acceptance is the death of independence. God Speed.

Thank you for creating your enterprise, this all encompassing platform. I’m 53 and cannot stress enough how important it is to have something like this in 2023. This platform is like a red dot for living in a world that is Godless and chaotic with no direction. My 14 year old son and I thank you for providing content for us to discuss, practice and live by.

Jon, i fully understand the kickback on shaving your beard. First time i shaved mine after about 20 years my wife said, "put it back, i feel like i am kissing my little brother". Been fully fuzzed for about 60 years.

I love how John is such a savage but is also so introspective and compassionate. I work at a state government surplus operation and one of the Warrior Poet tactical pens came in one of the TSA boxes on the pallets we pick up from the local airport and I was like "Hey, I know that logo!" and advertised it as such by your brand, with some other brand tactical pens. I’m so in agreement with your 5 … we (my wife and I) are really trying to do the same - my wife is doing awesome at old school homeopathic stuff as well as the food approach.
Our youngest is home schooled (our elder children are either already graduated or doing online for the final year)
So much common sense and morality shines through on this channel !

Excellent word on spouse vs children. I heard great advice from our premarital counselor for when we had kids (he was on#4). He said that you are making yourself one with eachother. You don’t do that with your kids. So a marriage that puts the kids before it shows the damage when the kids leave and that neglected relationship is left over.
Love what you said! Parents definitely need to prioritize their spouse over kids. However, when the parent takes a really long time to acknowledge the kid, it can cause a lot of issues. I'm speaking from experience. my mother did that to me. I never felt like I was important or what I needed to say was important to my parents because they never acknowledged me out in public. The mentality that kids need to be seen and not heard was very much followed to the detriment of my upbringing.
The thing about raising kids is that there isn’t a method that works for everyone, which sucks because that means even if you have the best of intentions you might still end up causing issues in the kids. I think a lot of times parents hyperfixate on how to maximise good outcomes for their children without realizing that they are individuals too, and that sooner or later they will have to make decisions, suffer, question themselves and think and live for themselves, with possibly consequences you, as a parent, wanted to avoid. I think having a psychologist mindset can be helpful for parents, meaning that you’re going to do everything in your power to set your children up for success, but at the end of the day they are going to make their own choices and you can’t do anything about that, except be as good of a guide as possible when they ask you for help

Our grandparents worked and saved money to buy the new car. That was earning your car. Rolling your debt from car to car is not earning your way. You would be amazed at what it feels like to pay cash and drive your new truck away😎
For anyone that wants to get just some basic medical training, I recommend taking a First-Aid/AED/CPR class from American Heart Association. These are usually very inexpensive and offered through schools, churches, places of work and other community organized events.
Also BLS (Basic Life Support) classes if available...

I watch many tips and meditate on the big money. I think what people forget instead of buying things you don't need or cant afford. I am still working on this and may not be the best example. I work on the habit of paying oneself first, put it away into a safe.

You are on point with everything. My kids, if they need to me while I’m speaking with someone will take my hand and that let’s me know that they need something. Then I will pause the conversation at a good point and then address the children.
Im exactly the same way with women. You never put yourself in a situation that could be construed as something inappropriate.
John I am with you on your puritanical life style. My best friend is my wife and my furry friend. Nothing wrong with keeping your family first. I have been married for 35 years to my second wife. My first marriage was a huge mistake. My second is my soul mate. The one thing that my wife and I agreed on was that she and I would work separate shifts to ensure that they had a parent in place as long as we could make it work. My kids are all grown up so any time spent with them is at their convenience. Which is never. Great to go unplugged if you have a ranch or farm try that is a suburbs of cookie cutter subdivision homes. I am happy to say that my wife and I have paid off our mortgage. That is almost more important than unplugged.
We have kept completely away from credit card debt. We have currently paid off our cheaper house on the edge of town and are putting a little at a time into fixing it up the way we want it. Also just bought a 04 truck that was a good deal that I don't have to make payments on.
"We're the freest nation on Earth". Oh, my sweet summer child ...

My little brothers pet pig called Pan Fry...was the best bacon we ever had. lol was funny watching him eat the bacon and crying...oh he was 13 at the time. He still ate the bacon.
One of those conflicts was for me being stupid . Some of the others I chose to stand my ground to gain respect , that enabled me to protect other weaker people, they used to call me big country.

I have personally lived in the past in very low taxed low rent or low house payment black naborhoods being a white & Mexican that looks only white .I was in a few armed conflicts as a adult and a number of hand to hand fights in 70% black schools I love blacks deeply perhaps in particular, but the urban geto culture is rough . My ol lady is black . I feel I had to have courage to survive my old inviroment as a minority in it. Perhaps tougher than having a brother hood of inlisted armed men to back me up & encourage me with pay & VA medical benefits ect .But my main point is that I think you living the way you do now takes more courage & Honor than anything you've ever done in battle because it's not for 1-3 tours its a fight that you stay in the fight every single day for life. And how Dare you have the COURAGE TO SPEAK TRUTH on the internet. Every day real Heroes. When your mom & Dad bring you up like this you generally view them as God given Heroes. But I refuse to worship you but I will say I salute you J.L and with much respect for your COURAGE to speak TRUTH.

100% agree with everything you said. American culture takes most of things to the extreme. We try to cater to the biggest, best, etc and that comes at a cost. There's very little moderation and we've forgotten what's most important: God, family, country. And what makes that all tick is establishing patriarchy. Men must reclaim their role to lead their family and their country as Christ leads them.

MY WIFE AND I ARE IN OUR 70s NOW AND EXTREMELY WORRIED ABOUT THE WORLD OUR GRAND KIDS ARE GROWING UP IN, BUT WE CANNOT LIVE THEIR LIVES FOR THEM! I HAVE TO AGREE WITH YOU IN HINDSIGHT BECAUSE THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED WITH US! HOWEVER WE NEVER HAD THE MONEY TO BUY A HOME OR REALLY GOOD VEHICLES! MAINLY BECAUSE OUR PARENTS NEVER TAUGHT US HOW TO HANDLE MONEY AND WE HAD TO LEARN AS WE WENT THRU OUR LIVES TOGETHER AND IT REALLY SUCKED IN HINDSIGHT! WE WERE A TWO PERSON HOUSEHOLD, BUT MY MOTHER-IN-LAW WAS OUR SITTER AND SHE DID A FANTASTIC JOB WITH OUR KIDS AND THEY DID LEARN A LOT AND DEVELOPED A GREAT RELATIONSHIP WITH HER AND US BECAUSE OF HER!! Hey John. Nothing you said, I think, should ruffle feathers in the least. I am 53 years old. Although divorced I am of the same mindset. My kids have all matured into very fine young adults in ways that I wish I had. They have entered career fields ranging from education to law enforcement to military and I am proud of all they do. Keep up the GREAT work.

My wife is my best friend and I cherish the time with her. If I needed to have relationships with other women, I wouldn’t be married.
I love my children and grand children. They want to be independent and take care of themselves. We work as a family to foster and support that attitude. That doesn’t mean that they are own totally, we work together make sure we are all supported, that place is earned, not just given.

With you on this on John, I chose to spend the rest of my life with my wife, too many parents dont understand the greatest gift they can give their children is to love their spouse first of all.
Rule #4- wife and I work opposite schedules so we have the ability to educate at home. Two income home. Fights against Rule #2 a bit but makes us closer as a family overall..

There will always be differences on what we all agree on. I still enjoy this channel, and most of the values John and others have. I still know what side of the line I stand on vs those who seek to destroy us. I'm a first responder at my job. We have AEDs in the break rooms and they provided us with some kit. Its worth taking those classes and brushing up to help others in need. Keep up the great content.

Something people don't talk about is that kids think they are at the wealth level of their parents. I appreciate you guys mentioning that. They don't understand that their parents have worked 20+ years to arrive at their wealth level. Tim Allen's most recent show was pretty funny but in one episode one of his daughters said that she was wealthy. Tim then came back and said that he and his wife were doing very well but the daughter was poor. This was in jest but had a large grain of truth in it. I think we as a culture and especially in education, both private and public, have lost the ideals, education, and training in small personal for family financial planning. In most cases people don't understand how to do a budget, balance a check book, or understand about debt. Just because financial institutions are willing to lend you money, in most cases at a very high interest rate, does not mean you need that money. They Army made me take classes about interest rates and looking out for predentary lenders. You may disagree but i think being able to manage your personal or family finances is just as important as knowing how to defend yourself and your family. They are both equally important to the safety and security of yourself and your family.
