- Had an awesome couple hours of catfishing with Kool-Aid Chicken Liver! CRUSHED my last PB CatFish! I'll Be back in the Kayak asap, Hope you enjoy!
Setups:
CAT ROD
Rod- Shakespear UGLY STICK-CATFISH (Med-Heavy Action)
Reel- Aubu Garcia Max Z (Size 40)
LIGHT ROD
Pfluger President 2 Piece combo (Light Action Rod)
BAIT
Tyson Chicken Livers with 2 Kool-Aid Powder Packets added (Cherry & Black Cherry)

Your sinker is to close to the hook use a egg sinker then swivel then a hook with a leader
Freeze it. Got to keep it cold or put it in pamty hose ball.
That cat reminds me of my cat Walter but this one is smaller

Use a trebal hook to keep that liver on there better bro

They say liver inside pantyhose works well, but I've never tried it before, using it seems kinda self explanatory shouldn't be too hard to rig up.@@MKFishing701
The ugly stick is the only rod I will fish with. I use the ugly stick gx2 with quantum optix 40 on my 6.5 ft rods and quantum optix 60 on my 9 ft rods. These rods are the most sensitive rods I've ever used. Literally feel fish farting lol
Agreed, can easily tell current from fish. And also have a good backbone for a great price.

Could be, you can tie the weight back away from the hook but I stopped doing the because it was making a weak point in my line where It was more likely to snap. I think the main issues with missing another of the bites was how soft the liver was and probably the size hook I was using. I know there are a lot of small catfish here too.

Only reason you got that flathead, cause its mouth was big enough to swallow hook and the sinker...LMAO...WTF.

What kind of Kool-Aid did you use? Maybe if you coat the liver then set it out on rocks or something to dry it out and toughen it up? Just an idea.
Fish were very nice!!!
Used the power packets!
I did try leaving it to dry in the sun and it helped a little bit, after talking to a few people someone recommended to put it in a pantyhose to help keep it on the hook

@philipengles6942 cherry! I've had best luck with any "Red" flavor, I'm sure strawberry would preform similar

If you want to fish with liver to catch catfish you need.to get.some panty hosesand rap a piece of liver in a square piece of the panty hose that would allow you to be able to cast farther and better your percentage of catches
Never freeze liver
That hook up is trash, but if you catching them oh well.😅
Set your drag a little light & let it buzz for a second or two. Let the cat sign his own warrant. Mice are also good bait & stay better on the hook. stuff 'em with the liver & sew 'em shut & soak 'em O/N in the the nasty liver liquid, maybe even a two day soak. BTW, you surely DO know you can EAT catfish, right???? The Good Lord decides to bless you with a perfect non trophy eating size cat & you throw him back. Wait until TSHTF & there's no more store-bought food. I hope He doesn't take offense at you turning down His blessing when you actually *need* it. Just saying... 🤔🤔
Not a bad idea at all, I do eat them sometimes, but most of the time I catch and release. I like to think ill catch them again later in life when they are even bigger.
