I love watching every little thing you do with the horses. It brings back so many wonderful memories of my time with horses. I just found this channel. Thanks for putting it up here.
He's such a Beautiful horse. You're so lucky to have a horse with his background. You can tell just by looking at him that he has Poco Bueno blood in him. He's gorgeous.
My dad was a formen on the Moch ranch and we would ride out like that in the fields. Some of the range looked like your place. My dad has passed and I don't ride anymore but your ride made me smile. Monster is a very well made boy.
Had a zebra dun that big was a great team penning horse...if they passed the gate he would knock them down and he loved it...would NOT work with any kind of bits ...just a halter and two reins ...steered with your feet
I guessed 16.1 hh. Monster is very good looking. I like his conformation very much. Very beautiful scenery in Sanders, AZ. You are very lucky to see beautiful scenery everyday.
This channel is new to me and the couple of videos that I've watched I haven't seen any aggression in training your horses, I think that's the difference between asking and telling, Monster is amazing in all the videos that I've seen of him and I would be very proud to have him in my herd, good job guys, love the Monster, ¶|-)>
Big monster is a gorgeous horse. Your husband is so funny. You guys are living the good life, fresh air, beautiful scenery. That's God's country for sure. Good video stay safe and healthy. Thanks for the video 😊
👍👍👍. So glad for this awesome video cus it’s made a bummed day a lot better. Watched it twice already. Really a majestic size he is but I did think he could have been 17 hands almost. Be cool to see some photos when he was a young colt also by his momma. Brought a flood of memories of our 16 1/2 hand all chestnut stallion with a scar on same leg as Monster that a few hairs came back white. He became the one I’d show showing that he was gentle with a female handling him. Cus of development our pastures were no more but a group of ranchers moved more south and created a huge horse development building swimming pools so horses could swim cus no more streams and rivers cus of droughts. We’d trailer him to our friends and then couldn’t get him out of the pool unless we got on his back. He lived 32 years and every colt he had was pure chestnut also but none his size. Monster is so lucky to have amazing land to do his thing in hopefully for rest of his life. Henson your math failed you and the horse showed ya up that straight isn’t better and sure footing is the best. Love how he swam ahead and waited for you to catch up and of course Lincoln to the rescue. I’m certain he wasn’t happily smelling the cows and so was calling for his own kind like the stallion he is. Glad he had a good ride but am betting he was glad to be resting up. Just a perfect balance of a horse worth breeding to. Love seeing both of you doing what ya do best sharing and documenting the love of horses. I still am smiling seeing the blooper and hearing Henson laughing swimming for his life. Hard to do with jeans and boots but oh so funny. 😅😂🤣😂😅👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I really enjoyed seeing Monster being ridden, was wondering about that. He is a great horse, running at stud, catch and ride him after two years off, WOW. I cain't even imagine where the 5 A--hats that gave a thumbs down came from. They are not from our world.
Maybe because of the heat branding shown at the intro, would be my guess. My boy has a hot brand, given at his foal inspection, but I'd much prefer it if it had been a freeze mark, instead. Less painful and faster to heal, with a more easily read marking, is always a winner in my book.
That is a beautiful Monster😍.. Thank for another awesome video.. you two have to much fun😅😂🤣!!! It's good to see that much water from the rain.. the other day I drove through your backyard.. it's so beautiful and green.. Thanks for another enjoyable video👍🏾👍🏾 Keep up the good work 💪🏾

Monster is a beautiful horse. Not the biggest I've ever seen but he's a well-built boy. He a great temperament which is really good, I hope that trait has been passed to his progeny. I half expected Monster to roll in the dam but he dumped Henson anyway. That takes me back to my teenage years when riding through the swamp. The ponies Loved rolling in the swamp. Monster is a really nice horse! He's got a great head on his shoulders. Hint: don't curve the tape to the withers, as it's going to be an incorrect result. The tape must be completely vertical to be accurate. Place a straight stick, like a straight edge or measuring stick, horizontally between the withers and the tape, and make sure it's level. That's the correct height. Even better, invest in a true measuring stick, complete with a level in the cross "T", and make sure the horse is standing square on a level surface. I'd venture to guess Monster is about 15. 2 1/2 hands, given the curvature of the tape. Curving the tape takes up more length than you realize. My "baby" is 17 and 1/2 inch tall at three years of age, and is probably one of the tallest horses in my little town. It's unreal how many comments I get about his height, but my neighbors are used to seeing cow horses, and an Oldenburg is something of a rarity here. When he's mature, he should be exactly one foot taller than my QH mare.

That is some special kinda horse. So handsome. He also seems like he may be a bit of a character. Since I'm not exactly horse savvy (have learned a lot about them. Unfortunately, didn't know anything when I had access to riding them), a stallion would scare the hell out of me. ❤️🌵☀️⛈️🌈☮️🐎
Monster sure is a good looking stallion! Brains too, that's a hard combination to beat. I had an Appaloosa mare for 18 years who was 15.2 1/2 hands, nine feet long from nose to tail and 1250lbs. I ride both and she started english with me because of her size (she dwarfed the quarter horses!) and did 3 day eventing the first half of her life but bacame a western horse doing breakaway calf roping the last half. While she was still an english horse, we came across some of the young riders in the field practicing turning barrels. Hi Rock was a well liked horse so the kids started begging me to let her run the barrels. "She's kinda long for that I think" I started to say but Rock wanted to go and started shuffling around waiting for me to turn her loose...english saddle and all! So, I dug my left hand into her mane , reins in right hant and let her go! The kids said she looked like a cartoon car with the front part of her body wrapping around the barrel but the the back end skittering from side to side to keep balance! I knew we looked hilariously awful and I almost fell twice! (Aagghh! No horn!) But, when we came roaring back, her time had matched the time of the fastest horse out there! Everybody (including me) was shocked! Who says a big horse can't do western!?! I hope Monster roams with the cows forever!

Hey people, love your video's, monsters is a great horse. Every time I watch your videos I learn more, Thanks, what bit, do you use on monster, and do you change from time to time? Or not. Thank again
This day Henson used an Argentine snaffle made by Les Vogt. We like to change up bits and believe it’s good for all horses to be able to work in anything. Monster would’ve works just as good in a halter 😁
What makes gentle stallions is good breeding and letting the mares do the teaching. Nothing like a bred mare to put the fear of god into an inexperienced young stallion and the lessons stick with them forever.
I love a good workin' stud lol. I bought my first stallion (16 year old Thoroughbred, Bear Springs by Baquero and out of Nabeela) on April 30th and he's been the mellowest horse I've ever had and never set a foot wrong the first time I sat on him and rode him. He had some track training, shinbucked and then was never returned to training and lived his whole life where he was born until we got him, relatively unhandled. Wonderful kind boy and I look forward to seeing his babies in the coming years lol
I just started taking western riding lessons at age 52. Im strong- but the hardest part of the lesson is picking up and heaving the saddle onto my horse!
Monster is one hulk of a guy! Heavy boned and full of muscle. I am more used to quarter horses that are bred for athlete type conformation, while still having the trademark butt. Someone I know has a gorgeous stud, Palomino, just coming on 3 yrs, and he is a little of both, so depending on what mare's he breeds the foals can be either or type, but all are nice period. I believe he got his stud as a colt from Martin's Quarter Horses in Bayfield Colorado. They have been raising Quarter Horses for over fifty years. They have two lines both of which go way back and many many champions over the years. It is a very low key ranch, husband and wife team, they have gorgeous brood mares and usually have two mature studs of different lineage. They don't do anything with the new foals, not even halter train. You buy them just after weaning and do your own stuff, but I have to say that all the foals I know about are easy going, and take to training very readily. Monster makes his stud look small! But I know that for cattle work and heavy ranch work, many would prefer the heavy bond and lots of muscle over the athlete types. Would be interested to know Monster's lineage. I was a tad bit worried about taking Monster into that pretty deep water, I have seen videos of horses getting stuck in these range ponds due to the clay like soil. I guess you guys know about these "ponds" or you wouldn't just charge in.
