I'm an older man from Kentucky. I've been around horses of all types and backgrounds. I must compliment you on your horsemanship. Patient love is what it takes. Having worked with many an animal that have been abused or had heavy handed training from the Amish I can see that your methods are beyond reproach. Keep up the good work. You should be proud.
Let's not forget Stewie's contribution; he was so comforting towards Scarlet, reassuring her that all these crazy things were not going to kill her. Stewie was very generous with her; equine interactions are fascinating and complex - I can't get enough of CC and her continuing sage with her herd.
I'm an Ontario Canada country type guy. Never had a horse, but was always in areas where there was lots. The farmer across the road from me had two daughters who were into barrel racing and practiced in a field across from my driveway. Many hours sat in my chair in my driveway watch them and their friends practicing. Watching your video reminds that of those days. You and your horses and the mountains in the background and what you do is beyond awesome. You must feel you're in heaven. I'm a senior now and live in a small city with health issues and watch videos of folks like you that rescue animals that wouldn't have a chance at a good life otherwise. It's videos like this that rescue people like me that see there is hope for everyone and everything.
I like your slow and easy approach, especially with a horse who has fear issues. She is such a beautiful filly and I'm so happy she found you. I don't want to think about what would have happened to her if you had not taken that leap of faith. Thank you for sharing her journey. 😍💖
Amazing. 🙂 In any other horse trainer's hands, this could have gone horribly wrong, but you are the perfect trainer for this girl. Congrats on the two years!
It is amazing how different it can be to work with a truly wild little filly - one that was taken away from her heard way too soon - than a domesticated one. It is such a terrifying process for her but she has done SO well thanks to you’re gentleness, patience, and love. I look forward to her continuing journey with you. Well done CC!! Well done.
The $25 you paid for Scarlet was just a mere token; a down payment on the privilege of caring for, raising, training and socializing what was essentially a wild orphan baby horse. She is what she is today because of you and your gentle but detailed attention to her needs in the many different areas of her growth and development. And the change has been nothing less than amazing and deeply rewarding. She is truly a beautiful creature and this video was immensely soothing and heartwarming. I'm also extremely fond of seeing your companions Huckleberry and your cat, whose name escapes me, participate in the daily routine of the care and training of Scarlet as well as your other horses. I'm very much looking forward to hearing and seeing more of Scarlet's progress. Thanks for making my day.
Even though I have followed her journey this whole time I was kinda hit with just how much she has evolved, both physically and in terms of ger training. You have done an absolutely amazing job raising her so far ❤ I'm excited to continue to follow your progress ❤
Scarlet reminds me of my rescue dog Chili. Two years ago, a sickly puppy showed up on my doorstep. I healed her up and started training her, while I searched and searched for a good home for her. I couldn't find one try as I might. It took me a minute to realize that Chili was destined for me, I for her. Same for Scarlet and CC. It's so heartwarming to see them together.
I do believe you're the reason for her height. Your skills and knowledge with feed have given her that advantage. Her size as a mature horse should benefit you.
Me too !! I would buy her & maintain her training using gentle techniques like the TRT Method or Warwick Schiller's Attuned Horsemanship methods. Both are All about the horse being comfortable in their own environment !!
The last comment gave me a little shock ... It took her two years to learn what a domestic horse would learn.. in a few days??!?? 🤯 You are truly dedicated to your horses, respect!
Gosh…look at her…❤what a Beauty she has grown into, she has legs of Steel and you can really see the good care and nutrition she has received and how these Reservations Horses can turn out if properly cared for…well done…❤❤
Having watched maybe, what, 25 to 30 videos you've posted, I cannot do anything else but, first of all applaud you for your insight, and secondly, kind of admire you for your calm and thoughtfull demeanor. We're Humans. We make mistakes, we hit minor jackpots. We have regrets, we praise or doom ourselves for the choices we make. So far, I haven't seen any indication you need to be committed. You have a nice spirit, you are reluctant because you know what you're doing (I suppose so) and because you care about the animals, and you sometimes lose yourself amidst the abundance of beautiful horses. There may be regrets, but one thing (well, more) I'm sure of, is that you're more than a "clever" Cowgirl. To me, you seem to have found the golden middle way between calculated risk and careful reluctance. I don't know you, but to me you come across as someone who has just enough common sense to not "do it" and have just the right amount of heart to go "hell, why not". And the "hells why not" mostly pay off. Because you're more than clever. It's not even being smart, it's an instinct to be able to zoom-in, not on the horse that is the best, most beautiful, has he right stance, but to focus on the horse that needs you to get through whatever it needs getting through. Maybe I'm getting overly sentimental here, but so far, you've gotten horses that match your soul, if such a thing exists. And I believe the horses recognise that. And they are easier to befriend. Warm greetings from a city bloke from Belgium.
Thank you for this wonderful overview of Scarlett’s journey - and yours with her. She is so lucky that you found her and are giving her the careful and compassionate and skilled training she deserves. She is gorgeous.
“How To Train Your Dragon”- no difference! CC, you are definitely a dragon trainer. Scarlet is an incredibly well-built horse. She’s going to be jewel in your crown.
She was so worth saving. This story of Scarlett falls my heart with love and peace. Plus much respect for your patience and quiet confidence. Thank you! She sure is beautiful.
Miss Scarlett is a very Blessed horse indeed. I can't even wrap my head around of what would have happened to her without your keen eye and heart. Likely slaughter like so many others. You have a lot to be proud of. ❤❤❤
This channel has become a regular - I have never been a horse person - they have scared me with a very small brain and a lot of muscle - now I understand how patience and a high level of knowledge and talent can transform into something very fascinating🙏🤓
I always loved horses growing up with 50s Westerns but really knew nothing about them. These videos have shown me what it really takes to raise horses and train them. This old girl will never ride again but I enjoy seeing the journey. 🥰
You're not wrong by being scared. You should be. However, when you're respectful and know what you're doing you don't have to worry about getting hurt. Horses are way smarter then we are outside and we have a lot to learn from them.
She wouldn’t have made it so far without your unbending intent! Congratulations to you both. Magical creatures, I never get tired of watching them. Cinderella story for sure! Ziggy can be the prince, he certainly looks the part 🤩love you and the herd 🙏🕊️❤️
I love Scarlet. She has the 3 three B’s, Beauty, Brains and Breeding. You can tell she comes from good stock. Her intelligence keeps her moving forward and overcoming her fears. Her confirmation is perfect. If she would have been given a normal life and had not been taken from her mom way too young she would not be so reactive. You are the perfect trainer for her. You take her at her pace not yours and in the end you are going to get a great horse. Thank you for being you. I wish other trainers were like you.
This was beautifully shot and edited, thank you for the overview of her time with you. It's wonderful to see someone have the patience to bring out the best in their horses. May your partnership be long and loving.
Honestly, CC... there are many of your videos that bring me to tears, and this is one of them. Scarlet was SO lucky that you bought her! She could NOT have had a better human to belong to. You loving kindness and patience speak volumes and you always choose music to match the mood. BRAVA, CC. Blessings on your head and on those of all your animal friends. ♥ ♥ ♥
Greetings from So California. So great to be able to follow her journey. I bought my gelding in 1990 when he was just 4 and green broke. It had been s life long dream to own a horse. I learned right along with him and eventually showed him in western and English pleasure, trail, showmanship, halter but no team penning as he was afraid of cows. He also didn't like small pools of "deadly" water on asphalt!! Horses are so funny in their list of scary things. So much fun.😊
Thank you C.C. for putting together and editing this excellent documentary. It documents your skills along with Scarlet’s ability to trust and learn. An understanding of how a horse uses their eye sight and how each eye interprets the world in their brain is not as well appreciated as it should be. The cost in both monies and time were well worth the expenditure and their results are priceless.
Really nice work with this ultra sensitive girl. Your patience has paid off. She’s a gorgeous girl and turning out to be the perfect pal for Ziggy. They are two misfits that just happen to fit together hand in glove.
I suspect Scarlet could get along with many of the horses, but I totally agree that she's good for Ziggy cause she actually backs off when he wants her to haha. Poor Ziggy needs friends who don't get all up in his face.
When I was a little girl I always wanted to catch a wild horse, knowing nothing except what I saw on TV Westerns. Little did I know all the work involved. Love your videos👍👍
Hi, This is such a wonderful gift. Thank you for making the video. It lets me, a complete non-horse person, understand what is going into training a young, and in this case wild, horse. She is such a beautiful animal. Her trotting around in the round pen without a rope her movement is so perfect. This is a side of me that has worked with large working breed dogs before. I so love that perfect movement, that I don't know if i has a name. In translation we just call it "step". Steg without the translation. Some animals, including humans, just have it and this girl seems to have it. I'm already waiting for what you are going to let me "vicariously" see and, to a small extent, live in your next video. Yours, Ann
Scarlet is s testament of how much of a rough first few months of life these horses can have. She not only battled absesses but learnt to trust you. What a amazing horse she has turned out to be. You truly are a amazing lady. X
Just love Scarlet! Beautiful and intelligent. Thought of you CC yesterday. Hubby and I went on a trail ride to celebrate 44 years of marriage. Beautiful sunny day with the fall leaves 🍂 just glowing in the sunshine. This 67 year old still loves trail riding. Still a novice rider but just love the way riding a horse can .make me feel so happy. Nugget was a good horse. He likes loose reins so that is what he got. My hubby wore a vest and gloves in his pocket for me in case I got cold like you did on your ride. Guess I'll keep him. Thank you ever so much for your channel. Love it and you inspire me to keep getting on a horse. 🐎 ❤❤❤❤😊😊
P.S. They wouldn't let me use the step up. Insurance people she said say,"If you can't get on a horse without a step up, then you don't belong on a horse!! Made this lady mad so I said ,"Then get yourself over here and get me up!" She laughed and obliged me. 😊 🐎
She is very bright and learns quite fast. She shows courage learning about the things that frighten her. I think she'll be a strong minded fearless horse when she's mature.
Girl, I'm definitely here for the long haul. As I'm sure a lot of others are too. You and - ALL of your animals - have become apart of our lives. Your all family now to us. We're not going anywhere. Lol , your stuck with us. Much love and respect . ❤
Loved watching This video..... From a scared Weanling, to a Stunningly Beautiful, young 2 yr old horse that is coming along nicely & All Thanks to your Persistence, Patience & Kindness CC !! 🥰❤️🥳🎂🎉🤸
She's turned out lovely. You have a good eye and an excellent grasp of veterinary matters, I think. Your horses clearly love you (even Nigel 😂). Consistent calmness and kindness does that. One day I'll flee the city and find my own four-legged partner... until then, thank you for the secondhand buzz 😊
I never really watch horse trainings, a lot of trainer's just speak too much and have very few results. This girl is different. One sees the development and change. You are the world for her and I'm glad you are. Thank you for sharing this! ❤
Sort of like MY FAIR LADY where Liza Doolittle gets a big makeover! Scarlett is a real Lady now. Absolutely beautiful. You saved her life, really. You GAVE her a different life. Heartwarming to see her story unfold. Thank you.
Scarlet has come on so much since you got her. That is down to your wonderful training and kindness, and patience. She is a really beautiful looking horse. I love😊 your videos. Thank you. ❤
Sweet, sweet Scarlet ❤ thank god she ended up with you so she didn't have to endure more suffering than she already had ❤ from a scared little thing to a brave young mare ❤
From beautiful hands come beautiful things and with your gentle nature, I’m sure she’s going to mature into the most gorgeous mare. Well done on all your hard work CC. 🙌🏼🫶🏻
I enjoyed seeing the transformation of Ms. Scarlett. She has turned in to a beautiful little lady. I know your patience and extra care is why she is going to be a special horse.
I shudder to think what this filly’s fate would have been if you had not been there and seen her potential CC. Slow and steady has helped Scarlet blossom into a beautiful mare with a curious nature. Thanks for the look back, simply amazing transformation. 😊
I’m so happy you found yourself buying her for just 25 dollars ❤ Still just a “foal”, of course insecure and scared at first… but over time, Scarlet has grown and one can see how much your love and care has made her the way she is now 👏 Thank you CC for sharing this and letting us see the way Scarlet has grown into a beautiful mare💖💯💕😍Thank you CC💝💝Waiting for the next one 💓💓💓
I know what is going to help you with all of your horses. When you finally settle down on your own piece of land. The horses will see you living right there with them. No more driving in, no more disappearing on them, being able to make them feel safer knowing that you are there. Being able to hear them at night. I know it's going to help all of them. They will smell your presence and feel much safer having you right there living with them.❤❤❤❤❤
Scarlett is absolutely gorgeous 🥰 . You being able to take your time with her as really helped her so much . We can all see the bond between the two of you is growing stronger . Thank you for giving her and the others the home they so deserve. 😊
I love watching Scarlett. She’s absolutely beautiful and an incredibly stunning horse. You were right when you said how satisfying it is to watch her training from beginning to end to the most current. i am looking forward to seeing how she and Ziggy get along and if he’s able to teach her a few things. He’s definitely another of your horses I thoroughly enjoy watching. He’s so much more of an enigma however. Just when I think we’ll be able to figure out what’s going on in his head, he throw’s us a curve. Hmmm!!! Thanks for all of the hard, hard work you put into these horses. You are a very impressive woman with an incredible amount of talent, dedication, and determination. I hope that those in your inner circle realize and know what they have in you.
What an interesting story of training & therapy. You don’t just rescue horses, you become their trusted therapist, and they respond positively. You exemplify relationships, whether human or equine: easy does it.
She is a special addition to your menagerie. It is a testament to your knowledge and training. She is beautiful and loves you and Ziggy. She is a happy horse. congrats CC!
Thank you so much for the wonderful video of Scarlets journey with you from auction to present. Your training technique is spot on and that’s why you are so successful in teaching and helping your auction horses to respect you and enjoy becoming a part of your equine family. I hope you decide to keep Scarlet!
Thank you for sharing Scarlets story. You did a fantastic job with her and you are right. There would be very few, indeed, who could win her trust as you have. What a wonderful, beautiful story. ❤❤❤
Your patience and your slow and steady training of Scarlet may be taking longer than some of the horses you have rescued but only you know her limits and therefore her achievements are huge milestones!! I can't wait until the day comes when she is ready to proudly and safely carry you on her back!❤🐎
Scarlet has grown into a beautiful mare full of potential. I can hardly wait to see how she comes along in the future. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with her!
She has really blossomed into a real beauty. Miss Scarlett O’Hara (her name in my head)..is mighty fine indeed. Hope her and Zig form a strong friendship..they would both benefit from that I think.
CC this video gives us a comprehensive look at your considerable and extensive training knowledge. We appreciate you , Scarlet, Ziggy and all the members of your beautiful herd.
Wonderful to watch Scarlet's transformation, very much thanks to your loving patience. She's grown into a real beauty! This video made my day! Lovely! I'm looking forward to following her journey.
She's so beautiful she could be a show horse of some sort! I guess, with TH-cam---she already is, lol!! So glad you could see her potential that day at the auction.
I think she will make a wonderful trail horse for you! Please keep her. You have been making such wise decisions training your horses! And you put your heart and soul into your rehab mission. They trust you completely. Raising Scarlet from a weaning makes a special bond!
Loved watching Scarlet’s transformation, she has really become a gorgeous horse, I still wonder how tall she will be. I really love your patience with the horses!❤❤❤
Miss Scarlett was a journey well worth the time, and effort. She is gorgeous! Seeing the winter in Montana brought back cold, vivid memories of my 3 winters in Germany.
Give yourself a pat on the back! Scarlet is an absolute credit to you. I doubt that there are many people around who would have the patience, time and knowledge you have for a filly who only deserves the best ❤
I just love how you work with your horses. I have a person on a small place across from me. One day she rode past my place on someone else's horse she claimed she was "training". I was raking leaves and didn't pay any attention until I started hearing "whack, whack, whack". I backed up so I could see what was going on...about 20 feet away from me, she was beating the poor horse so hard that it was actually trying to sit down to get away from the pain. I was livid...the horse was terrified and being hurt. I told her I saw her beating the horse...her response..."You're damn right." She never accomplished whatever it was she was trying to do and took the horse back to her place...the owner eventually came and took her horse. I decided that if she actually tried to open a horse training facility...If I see people bringing their horse, I am going to tell them what I saw her do to someone else's horse. We only have 2 Animal Control officers for 4 counties...so reporting her won't save another horse being beaten.
She is maturing so beautifully. I am so rooting for her and Ziggy becoming friends.
I think Ziggy can teach her a lot. Him and Frisco could be really good for the young horses.
Me too! Ziggy and Scarlet are both wonderful! ❤
I am rooting for both Scarlett and Ziggy
Let's not forget Stewie's contribution; he was so comforting towards Scarlet, reassuring her that all these crazy things were not going to kill her. Stewie was very generous with her; equine interactions are fascinating and complex - I can't get enough of CC and her continuing sage with her herd.
Oops! "saga" not sage.
She's a beauty and she is so, so lucky that she landed in your care! Looking forward to watching the next 2 years of her progress!

❤❤❤😊
Her videos do "rescue me"
From another Ontario Canada person.....well said! I agree!
I hope you keep her. She is a great horse and your experiences with her have been a beautiful bonding for a long lasting relationship.
I like your slow and easy approach, especially with a horse who has fear issues. She is such a beautiful filly and I'm so happy she found you. I don't want to think about what would have happened to her if you had not taken that leap of faith. Thank you for sharing her journey. 😍💖
Much respect! Your channel is exceptional! beautiful photography, beautiful herd, storytelling, knowledge/skills, music, artistry and humanity.
I so agree, CC has many talents ! I look forward to seeing her videos daily. 😊 ❤
Amazing. 🙂 In any other horse trainer's hands, this could have gone horribly wrong, but you are the perfect trainer for this girl. Congrats on the two years!
❤
You have a way of making everyone fall in love with all your horses. Your dedication and such hard work is a wonderful thing to watch!
I totally agree.
Little Miss Scarlett has come a long way and broken free from her shell!! CC it definitely has to do with how kind and patient you are with her!! 👏👏👏👑
What a faithful, committed owner you are!
Well done.
Compared to Stewy, who is half BLM mustang but raised in a domesticated setting, the difference is night and day!

Her cat's name is Tiny. She's a great mouser and also goes after gophers.

Love the thought of you and scarlet being “seniors” together 30 years from now, scarlet being retired and happily munching on her special mash ♥️
Scarlett Looks Good For $25.00!! Love to see her and Ziggy become BEST BFF'S!! Thank You Clever Cowgirl For Your Monumental Purchase!!
She has such beautiful movement, she's going to be an incredible horse 😍

My hubby wore a vest and gloves in his pocket for me in case I got cold like you did on your ride. Guess I'll keep him. Thank you ever so much for your channel. Love it and you inspire me to keep getting on a horse. 🐎 ❤❤❤❤😊😊
P.S. They wouldn't let me use the step up. Insurance people she said say,"If you can't get on a horse without a step up, then you don't belong on a horse!! Made this lady mad so I said ,"Then get yourself over here and get me up!" She laughed and obliged me. 😊 🐎
😄👍❤❤❤
She was so tiny, compared to now. I am astounded by how far she has come. 💖💖💖
She is very bright and learns quite fast. She shows courage learning about the things that frighten her. I think she'll be a strong minded fearless horse when she's mature.
Thanks for teaching me these things. I'm still actively watching.
Great job CC!!! You guys really give me something to look forward to. Good fortune to all of you.
Such a brave, beautiful girl! It has been so fun to watch her grow and learn! Thanks for sharing, CC!
Nigel 😂 I was describing him to my family earlier today.
I never really watch horse trainings, a lot of trainer's just speak too much and have very few results.
This girl is different. One sees the development and change. You are the world for her and I'm glad you are. Thank you for sharing this! ❤
She’s a beauty! I bet that you have a great sense of satisfaction, within, for her progress so far. 🙏💜🕊️
Scarlet has grown into a beautiful Mare. Hopefully Ziggy can give her some pointers to further assist in her training.
With your patience, training, & love, Scarlet has turned into a priceless horse!!! She’s so beautiful!!!🥰🥰🥰🙋🏼♀️from Miami FL 🇺🇸
They will smell your presence and feel much safer having you right there living with them.❤❤❤❤❤
She has a very athletic confirmation. Gorgeous!
What a satisfying journey. Scarlett is a real gem and so lucky to have found an understanding owner. Steady wins the race, huh Scarlett?
She is a special addition to your menagerie. It is a testament to your knowledge and training. She is beautiful and loves you and Ziggy. She is a happy horse. congrats CC!
Scarlett is doing so well, and is growing into being a gorgeous young mare. ❤
You waving your arms was quite funny but it also showed how important it is to also train a horse to stay calm while we do such simple things
She really is a stunning mare, so lovely to see how she has come on with your kind way of training x
Thank you so much for the wonderful video of Scarlets journey with you from auction to present. Your training technique is spot on and that’s why you are so successful in teaching and helping your auction horses to respect you and enjoy becoming a part of your equine family. I hope you decide to keep Scarlet!
Scarlett is a definite beauty! Taking a slow approach to teaching her, and how well you treat her is paying off! Kudos to the teacher💕 and student
I can't wait until the day comes when she is ready to proudly and safely carry you on her back!❤🐎
I love that little jump by the salt block. She's sooo beautiful and fun to watch. Great job, CC. She loves you
Scarlet has grown into a beautiful mare full of potential. I can hardly wait to see how she comes along in the future. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with her!
It’s wonderful to see how she has grown over the last two years and I’m excited to see her continue to mature
She has really blossomed into a real beauty. Miss Scarlett O’Hara (her name in my head)..is mighty fine indeed. Hope her and Zig form a strong friendship..they would both benefit from that I think.
It's great that you bring your horses along and gain their trust instead of breaking their spirit. I think she came along at just the right time.
A great video of Scarlett’s history. She is so beautiful and smart overcoming many of her fears with CC, a great and sensitive trainer. Thanks CC
This was enjoying seeing the progress from an ugly duckling to a swan. She is a smart girl and in the right hand. Respect for you and scarlet.
Scarlet’s transformation has been magical to watch❣️🥰💯You’re doing an amazing job with her, CC ❤️
She's so beautiful she could be a show horse of some sort! I guess, with TH-cam---she already is, lol!! So glad you could see her potential that day at the auction.
Yay, this premiere I will get. Going to make a fresh pot of coffee and have a piece of birthday cake 🎉
Happy Birthday!💐
Happy birthday 😊

Charlotte has had an amazing transformation. What a beautiful mare. 🌸
I think she will make a wonderful trail horse for you! Please keep her. You have been making such wise decisions training your horses! And you put your heart and soul into your rehab mission. They trust you completely. Raising Scarlet from a weaning makes a special bond!
I love your “documentaries” on the horses!! I hope you find YOUR forever home as well as your horses!
It's a shame that some trainers are bad and even worse (I'm thinking of poor Pete's story 😔). They completely ruin nice horses 😠.
