I just finished watching the original again and I totally agree, if they pick up directly after the first movie finished, when they finally believe him and start to block the roads, then it’s a race of who can exterminate who.
Quentin is super creative BUT he's ignoring what would be lost. Sure they will lose the hate they have when they become pod people but they also can't love. If you remember in the original that gets removed too ! So yeah the klan were racist and had hate but it was real it was ugly yes but it was natural. Now while they no longer hate black people their sudden reversal is artificial. Nobody wants to live in that world either
